I'm back

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Missed a couple of days, but they weren't wasted. Had to work yesterday and was late getting home. Today I got to practice quilting on the new frame. Have a long way to go, but it is great fun. I put a practice top on tonight and will quilt it tomorrow. Santa done good. I'm going to have to take a break from practice and finish getting the room cleaned up. The grands will spend the night tomorrow night, so no work will get done then.

Managed the Boot Camp video and a short walk today. It was a beautiful day despite the heavy rain last night. Not a very exciting day, but how good to have a nice quiet day once in a while.

I love quiet days! Not every day needs to be full of excitement, too stressful I think! Glad you got to try out the quilt frame. Enjoy your grands this weekend!

I know you'll have fun with Grands tonight. I don't have any yet, but hope to one day. Quilting sounds like fun. Which boot camp workout do you do?

A nice quiet day is good. It gives our bodies a chance to heal and regenerate and our spirits to revive. At least you got in some exercise and enjoyed the nice day. I pat myself on the back even if I did a short video. It does matter. Enjoy the grandkids. I had mine today. Lots of fun and energy.

Typical Monday.

Monday, January 18, 2010

We did our usual Monday things today. Had our family lunch out and took MIL grocery shopping while the housekeeper was here. Got some laundry done, and watched the videos that came with the quilt frame and machine. I forgot to get the tape for the leaders, so will have to do that tomorrow. Got a short walk in too. It was absolutely beautiful this afternoon. The grands came over for a short visit and DD helped move some furniture in the sewing room, the boys vacuumed up the dust hiding behind the tables for me. Got my Boot Camp video in this evening. I just can't seem to get those one leg squats, my ankles just don't like them, but I keep trying.

I'm excited for you about your new quilting frame!! What a great way to begin a new year!! Santa was really good!! I still haven't finished hand quilting Sarah's baby quilt and she is now three months old. Of course, it got put up during all the holidays as there is not room for a quilting frame and Christmas trees, etc. Just got it out again a few days ago and got in another hour or two of quilting.

I know what you mean. One of my ankles is weaker than the other so I notice it then. Did it seem easier this week? Hope so! Can't wait to hear what you have to say about your quilt frame once you've tried it out!

Yeah. I have trouble with those squats too but I noticed that I did better today than last week. So progress will come if you keep at it.

Santa came back today ...

Sunday, January 17, 2010

and put my quilt frame together. I still have to put on the leaders, but they are all ready to go. The screws for the light didn't fit, so gotta wait for replacements. Other than that it is ready to go.

Got my exercise in moving furniture (those sofa beds are HEAVY) out of the sewing room. Boot Camp wasn't bad today, I must be getting stronger!

Have a great evening everyone.

Hey! Santa was at my house a week after he came to yours! I just got my longarm delivered and set up last weekend! Big learning curve for me, as I'm not a longtime quilter, but it sure is exciting! I'm hoping to get skilled enough to earn some money quilting instead of just spending it!

Thanks everyone, I can't wait to get started! DH didn't realize how heavy the machine was. He was afraid it would slide around on the carriage, but changed his mind when he had to pick it up. Although compared to moving the sofa bed, it was a breeze. I'll post more pictures when I get my practice piece loaded.

Back in the saddle again.

DH and I got a mountain bike ride in this afternoon. The ground is thawing out and it was mostly a strength workout than a cardio one. The mud just clung to the tires and tried to hold us down. But it was nice to get back on, perhaps tomorrow a road ride.

Wow! I am impressed. Just too darn rainy and windy here. Want to get my hybrid in working condition so i can at least ride when it is just "showering". Haven't been able to get it done though. So to the gym I go.

Well, the best I can say is I did attempt to do the Boot Camp video today. The stability ball still isn't my friend, and my abs hurt.

But on a lighter note, DH and I had a date today and went to see AVATAR. It was great! I didn't get the motion sickness some people have mentioned. Gotta see it again, you just miss so much the first time.

Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50s, so I plan to get a bike ride in. Sure will be nice to get on again.

That's so nice that you and hubby had a date to go see the movie Avatar!
I had a bit of a hard time with the stability ball today too. My triceps hurt from yesterday's video. Hope you get to go biking tomorrow!

Lucky you. Tomorrow will be mild here too but rainy! Windy probably too. At least I got my short spin in. I'm glad you enjoyed Avatar. i might get dizzy though.

As for the video, I don't have a stability ball so just do a different video that targets the same area. Isn't this fun?

Have a great week.
