DH and I have become accustomed to challenges during our vacations. We have endured illness, stolen vehicles, and lost reservations. Today as we left home the vehicle in front of us had a tire blow out, crossed the median and flipped. The driver was thrown out violently and sustained massive injuries. DH and a nurse on the scene tried to help while I called 911. Then another man saw car seats in the back so we pulled them out to make sure there was not a child inside. This is the second vehicle that has flipped and rolled right in front of me. The others were more fortunate than this young man. Please remember to fasten your seat belts. I don't know if it would have saved him, but it certainly increases your chances. Tonight a mother has lost a son, child(ren) have lost a father. It was a very sad drive.
Life is sad sometimes.

OK my friends. We are having internet issues. It seems the cable company has "upgraded" some equipment. We have lost a lot of our channels, and the internet is off and on. Even when it is on, it doesn't like our wireless router. So if you don't hear from me regularly, please don't worry. I'm still here, just can't log on. Perhaps I will actually get some sewing done now.
Life is good.

Spent the afternoon in the orthodontists office today getting my braces off. NICE! I must say everyone in the office is so very sweet, I'll almost miss seeing them regularly. I did get a permanent retainer on the bottom, but just the clear one for the top. Gotta wear it 10 hours a day ...... forever. I'll have to think about the forever part, but will make it for at least a year.
Sure is nice to be able to bite an apple again.
Life is good.

We had a nice service at church today. The grands were is a great mood and the preacher was especially good. After lunch we went to DH's cousin's son's house. He was having a surprise birthday party for his mom and aunt. It wasn't easy getting his aunt and her family from DC for it, but they pulled it off. It was warm enough to open the house and enjoy the fresh air. The kids went to the park and played frisby, the adults sat around and talked about old times, kids and grand kids.
Life is good, family is great.

DD#2 spent the night at #1's house so they could keep an eye on the yard sale stuff in the yard. I got up at 5 and went over about 5:30, and the first customer showed up about 6:15, just as we were folding up the tarps. By 11 just about everything was gone, so we packed up what little remained and took to the local donation center. There was barely half a pick-up load, we were all pleased.
The grands came home with us and the oldest practiced with his bow and arrow (gotta get him a better bow) and the youngest played around till supper. It was a beautiful day and warm evening, so we had a treat and toasted some marshmallows before bath. After I put them to bed I got on the trainer and got 30 minutes riding in. They are now fast asleep (I'm not far behind).
Life is good.
