Great day!

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Slept in today, and it felt good. Put dinner in the crock pot, then we hopped on the road bike and got in a nice ride, 26 miles in 2 hours and 5 minutes. It was slow, but it was cool and very windy, so I'm not complaining. Ran some errands and got change for the yard sale, picked up the trailer to move the furniture to DDs house. SonIL came over and helped put our couch in the trailer and move MILs upstairs to make room to put DDs downstairs. I think they call that a fruit basket turnover? Then got all my boxes of things in the truck. Not enough room for the clothes so they will have to go in my car. Tomorrow we will pick up the furniture in DDs apartment and deliver everything. Lots of work left, but the end is in sight.

Life is good.

I am so jealous that you can ride outside in January!

I spent an hour shovelling snow this afternoon. - And that is AFTER the neighbour blew out the driveway!

Good thing it counts as cardio.

I donate everything. Much easier than doing a sale.

Getting ready for the yard sale

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Well, tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 40s, so we will get another ride in. That will be so nice! After we ride we will take the tables and one load of things to DD#1s house, then we will have to take the trailer over to DD#2s apartment and make sure everything is packed and ready for the yardsale Saturday. Friday she will be here to help load the trailer and take everything to DD#1s for the sale on Saturday. I have MIL's clothes and all my assorted household things ready to go. I will be so glad when this is over and all these boxes are out of my house. I'm taking the lazy way out and have things in boxes and will sell the whole box for one price. I just want everything gone to a new home. Lots of work still to do, but at least I'll get my exercise.

Life is good.

So, do you have your yard sale in the garage, or out on the driveway/lawn this time of year? Sounds way too cold to me. Good luck with it all. And you are right; Life IS good. Hang in there.

Have a great ride! I hope to get out too. Am still recovering from my cold but I should be able to get in a few miles. Hope your garage sale goes well and you will regain your space.

Back in the saddle again

Monday, January 24, 2011

and riding the mountain bike. It got up to 51 today, so we headed to the woods and rode 15 miles. Sure felt good to be riding outside and not on the trainer. Tomorrow the rain comes in, then Wed the snow. This weather sure is playing havoc with our riding. But on the brighter side, riding the trainer has served it's purpose. I rode the 15 miles and didn't get sore or overly tired. Looks like I'll be riding the trainer the rest of the week.

Life is good.

Fantastic!! 15 miles that's great. Hard to do that inside as it gets quite boring looking at the walls or even a TV. I like to put on an action movie and then I just go crazy on the bike.

Kuddos to you for cycling indoors! At least you have a little window of opportunity today - enjoy!

Wow! Awesome. Doesn't it feel good to get out on that bike? I got in another ride yesterday but took today off. We will have dry weather for the next few days so hope to get more. It's been a really weird year weather wise and so I try to get out whenever I can. I love this mountain bike because I can go out even if it is raining a little bit.

Happy trails to you:)

Just a few random thoughts ...

Thursday, January 20, 2011

It is spitting rain and snow, again. No accumulation expected here, but the roads may get icy again. We seem to go from 50 degrees, to snowing with great regularity these days. It's no wonder so many are staying sick.

One more day of work this week, then 4 off and back at it. Hopefully I can get a bit of sewing done while I'm off. Should clean the house, but I've missed my sewing more than my cleaning.

The grands will be here again this weekend. DD and I are going to a wedding Sat night, so we may pick them up tomorrow instead of Sat (depends on how tired I am). The weekend is supposed to be nice and warm, so perhaps another hike is in order.

Well, I have another early day tomorrow, so it is off to bed. Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.

Life is good.

Sewing is a lot more fun!

I'm going to do some yarn room cleaning today, along with knitting, and by BOM arrived this week--it is drying now so i can press and cut after lunch.

Missed a few days

Sunday, January 16, 2011

but I'm back again. Even with extra work days, I have been managing to get my exercise in. Love that trainer when it is icy outside. My new pedometer is so much better than the old one. I am managing to get over my 10,000 steps every day.

Today was a beautiful day. We took the grands to lunch after church and decided to go to Cheaha State park for a hike. It isn't far from our house and little did we realize how much snow and ice was left on top of the mountain from last week's storm. But we were dressed warm enough and all had a great time. Most of the trails were too slick for us, but still managed to get over 4 miles in, saw a lot of deer crossing the road, and had a great day outside for a change.

Sounds like a good way to spend the day! It is wonderful that you are teaching your grands to be active, and that "old" does not mean "incapable". emoticon
