Hello Friends

I have made so many false starts, I am embarrassed to even get on Spark People! I was very touched to see many of my long-time friends making comments on my page. My weight is over 200 again. I haven't exercised in over a year and the holidays are approaching. I find this all over-whelming in terms of thinking of losing this weight. I truly feel like a yo-yo. Just wanted to jump on here and say hi. I do think about all my spark friends and miss you. Just feel I have let you down.

    Girl, this my 1st time on in 6 months, probably. My weight is also back over 200 too. But we are here, right, still looking for our way. As long as we are still looking there is a chance we will find it. We make progress with each good choice, one decision at a time. Each good decision is one less bad one, and that, my good dear friend is progress. One foot in front of the other, as Hosta lady, would say! Don't beat yourself up, Lets just start small, ok, you and me. I challenge you and me! I promise to drink 2 extra glasses of water tomorrow. You choose what you will do, but it has to be really small, okay, and completely doable. I'll check in with you tomorrow! Hugs!

Well, I didn't leave and I'm at my highest weight ever. Suffice it to say I won't be pointing fingers.

    You have not let us down. We are not perfect either and make mistakes too. There is no guilt allowed here. We are here to be supportive and help you reach your goals. There is no time limit and no limit to the number of times you can start over until you get it right. In other words, you are our friend and those of us who know you, love you. Welcome "home".

    Hi Betty, so glad to hear from you! So many of us have been in your shoes. Never ever, ever, ever give up! I had a weight gain earlier this year, but I got right back up and have lost most of the weight again.
You can do it, too! You have many Spark friends here to encourage and support you, and even give you a kick in the butt if you need it!

Hi all,

I'm hanging in there...haven't lost any more yet, but haven't gained that's good.

Not exercising bad!...except for my fingers and hands...been very busy finding new information for my family tree! Very exciting.

    I do genealogy too-not much time for the last couple of years though. I am going to a conference in Cincy in May though-hopefully find some new things then.

    Nothing wrong with maintaining. I love genealogy. My aunt did my dad's side of the family. I really should do my mom's. Her father was born in Wales and came to this country in his teens.

Days 7 & 8

Made some more bad choices today. Unfortunately, there were still some pretzels and chips around her from my company. Threw the rest out after getting into them mindlessly.

Did get my water in and keep tracking the food even tho embarassing. . emoticon

Still a little dizziness, but better. I think the rest idea was on track!

Day 8 - weight in day - lost 3 lbs even with my bad choices some days this week. On track with my water today. Need to do some exercise because I feel like a slug. I also need a massage bad--I have knots all over me.

Thanks for all the support and encouragement emoticons! I will make this happen, just off to a slow start.

    That's power! Throwing out the chips. I can't believe I used to eat a whole large sized bag of chips with out caring. Now when I look at the calories in a small, itty bitty bag, I'm blown away!

Day 6 taking baby steps

My baby steps slowed to a crawl! emoticon
Woke up dizzy today and stayed that way all day.

Did good eating breakfast and lunch, but didn't balance calories right throughout the day and ended up overeating dinner! emoticon

Water intake was not good today! emoticon

No exercise except my keys flying across the keyboard.

Will try harder tomorrow! emoticon

    Hi, Nice to meet you!
I read some of your old posts and see you you're a returning Sparker just as I am. My first few weeks back were so, so hard. It brought up quite a few feelings, and all the tracking, counting and measuring seemed like too much work. Sometimes it doesn't seem like enough food, sometimes I miss indulging. It is getting easier though.
I'm not pushing myself too much with the exercise, but try to walk a minimum of 30 minutes a day and do some strength training every other day. If I do more, (hike, bike, longer walks) it's a bonus.

Day 5 of baby steps

Monday, March 05, 2012 walking today. Kind of overdid yesterday and my back was so sore today I didn't want to chance it. My mind has big plans...but my body doesn't always cooperate.

Didn't get in as much water today...ate a few too many nuts; other than that my eating was ok. I made a nice dinner, but got a phone call just as my chicken was done - spinach, walnut and feta cheese rolled into a thin chicken breast - by the time we finished talking to our son, they were all dried up. I thought I turned the oven off, but only did the timer! emoticon They were dry but still tasted good.

My daughter in CA rec'd some exciting news today. The photos she has been taking for an off broadway production of Spring Awakening were put on Playbill. Check them out:
e-Star-Lindsay-Pearce . If you click right above the group photo you can see some others she did. Also, her website has been updated: . My daughter has many talents. She and a writing partner have now written 4 screenplays and are trying to sell them to be produced as movies. In the interim, she works on films as production assistant and production coordinator.

Also some good news from my son. He was selected as the Information Technology Manager for the Entomology Dept at the Univ of MD.

In ancestry, I had a third cousin contact me and ask if he could have access to my photos. I have been looking for his grandmother and great aunts and uncles for some time. This was a big break through for me.

So, all in all, a pretty awesome day!

    You certainly had a wonderful day. Your children both sound fantastic. Loved the photos. My hubby is an amateur entomologist. LOL. The chicken sounded wonderful too.
