The size of the cells shrinks, but the capacity to expand is always there."

I didn't know that. I kinda hoped they went away. :(

My spark is back!

So.... After losing a little over 30 lbs last year, and gaining back 10 this year (stress eating), I'm happy to say I've got my spark back and I lost 3 lbs this week! So excited! My clothes were getting a little snug, and that was scary! So I'm determined to hit the gym 5 days a week. Trying to lose 10 more lbs by the time a friend comes out to visit me from Louisiana next month ;)

    Remember it isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle. There will be times when it's easier than others, and times when "life" gets in the way. The important thing is that you caught yourself before you gained more, and you're back on track.

Not quite sure where to start on this. I haven't been consistent in my workouts or tracking food since Dec of 2010. And it shows!!! I've gained 7 lbs. Ugh. Some of my clothes are starting to get a little snug. But at least I can lose faster than I can gain. I set out last year to lose about 70 lbs. I only lost a little less than half of that, and I've gained a few lbs back, but at least I haven't gained it ALL back. It's been a rough year, lots of changes. But I think I have my motivation back, and I'm going to hit the gym after work today. I started my tracking a couple of days ago. I don't think I could do this without the care and support of my mom & SP friends. Y'all are the greatest!

P.S. - I just realized my 1 year Sparkaversary is on Thursday!

    Glad to see you are movitated again! I am trying very hard to get back to it myself. I had a back injury and a death in the family over the last 6 months. Hopefully this will be a full recovery for both of us both mentally and physically. You can do it!!!!

A Blog-Worthy Omelette

So for lunch, I was totally craving McD's fries and chicken nuggets. I resisted temptation and decided that I needed something very tasty for lunch. I'm fortunate to have time to go home and cook for lunch, so I decided to make myself a stuffed omelette. I sauteed fresh asparagus, red bell pepper, mushrooms and onions in a little olive oil, then put that inside my omelette, and sprinkled a little reduced fat shredded cheese on top. Let me tell was deliciousness on a plate! Had my (reduced sodium) V8 Juice with it as well, so I managed to get 3 servings of veggies in my lunch :) I'm very proud of myself for not giving in to the golden arches, and what I cooked was way yummier anyways, and all for only 310 calories. I think that's how much is in one nugget, lol.

Well anyways, this is probably a very boring blog, but I was inspired by my yummy lunch :)

emoticon on making a healthy choice. It's not always easy but like you mentioned you have the convenience of going home and creating a healthy masterpiece. Leftover rotisserie chicken is great in omelets too! I luv all your ingredients, YUM. emoticon

    ooh that sounds AMAZING! I freaking LOVE omlettes, but am the world's WORST omlette maker...UGH! So the only time I ever get to eat them is when I go out. I even have an omlette maker/press and still ruin it! :(

yum yum! oh and mcds fries and nuggets sound good too :P lol

Random Ramblings

This blog is so titled because that's exactly what I'm going to do here.

So it's been a rough last few months. The company I worked for was evicted the first of the year, and I was only working part time for a couple of months. Long story short, things looked like they were going to eventually turn around, and I was hanging on. About a month ago, a friend that works in the industry called me and said he was leaving his position and asked if I would interested in interviewing. I said yes, came in and interviewed, and got the job! (thank you God) It was a very difficult thing to have to leave my old job, as shaky as it was, after 6 years, and everything we had been through the last couple of years. I've been at the new job for almost a month now, and I love it. So now I'm trying to get back into my routine of going to the gym right after work. I've gained 3 lbs back and ugh it makes a difference! Last night I was looking through some old photos that were probably at least 5 years old. I was huge! I think that I was heavier than I realized, I think well over 250. I hadn't been planning on going to the gym last night, but the photos were a great motivation, so I dragged my butt there. I think a couple of more workouts and I'll be good to go. Why is it sooo hard to stay motivated??? I really want to do this (30 lbs are gone so far), but I just have a problem being consistent. Not to mention I have a HUGE sweet tooth.... I just need to kick my butt into gear I guess. I have to not compare myself to anyone else, and do this at my own pace. I'll get there eventually....

    I know you may feel that gaining 3 pounds is a lot, but gaining 3 pounds when you've lost 30 isn't really THAT much in the grand scheme of things girl! Don't be so hard on yourself. I could EASILY gain 3 pounds per WEEK if I'm not tracking or caring or making smart decisions. So 3 pounds when you've had a lot of other stuff going on is nothing.

Pick yourself back up and get in the routine that you need to succeed!:-)
