Evil Sugar!!!

So I didn't have time to go home for lunch today, so I had my stand-by fast food lunch: a grilled chicken sandwich from Sonic, on a whole wheat bun without mayo, only 269 calories. Which was great until I decided I also wanted a lemon berry slush. BAD IDEA!!! 300+ extra calories later... Feeling sluggish and yucky... It was super yummy, but not worth how I feel now. Coming down from the sugar high and kinda feeling like I could use a nap after work. But instead, I'm going to make myself go to the gym. If I tell myself it will only be 30 mins, I know myself and I'll end up doing 65. I think (actually I know) I need to just avoid things that have a lot of sugar like that and stick with water. I've been doing better this last week, but mother nature is wreaking havoc with my calorie intake. My problem is that if I say I'll just have a couple of bites of something sweet, I end up only wanting more. I think I need to make a trip to the grocery store and buy some more apples and pears! The moral of the story? I need to just steer clear of sweets.

    oooh, Sonic has some evilly good drinks! I'm like you-have a little sugar, and the beast awakens and wants MORE MORE MORE! *sigh* I'm going to try really hard for the rest of the month to resist those cravings.

Zero Motivation

I need help!!! I have zero motivation right now... I've been at this since June and have lost about 20 lbs, but the last month has been tough. I'm tired of tracking my calories, exercise... I haven't been eating too badly, but I really really need to get my motivation back. I'm feeling the lack of exercise - tiredness! Any ideas?

    I wish I had a suggestion. I am in the same boat. If I exerices I feel better and I exercise more. If I don't exercise I don't feel good so I exercise less. Viscious cycle. The only thing I can suggest is try doing at least 10 minutes of exercise, any kind, a day - especially stuff that doesn't look like exercise. Today I chased the geese around the property. It was fun so I didn't notice I was exercising.

    Yes. Go shopping and buy a very nice outfit for, say, Thanksgiving or Xmas but buy it a size smaller. Keep it in plain view so that you know you have to get back on track if you want to fit into it in time. And keep us up-to-date! Good luck! : )

20 lbs gone!!!

It's taken me almost 3 months, but 20 lbs are gone and I'm determined they will never be seen again!!! I've done it before and this is always about the point I find some excuse(s) and lose my motivation. Not this time!!! I'm feeling better than ever and making this a lifestyle change instead of just "dieting" and working out. I think one of the biggest things that's helping me this time is that my mom and I are doing this together and helping to keep each other motivated. Not quite to the point of having to go shopping for new clothes yet (except bras), but hope to be there by them time my cruise and 32nd birthday in October!!!

    Hey! CONGRATS on the 20 lbs. gone!! woot woot!!! Awesomeness! And ahh a cruise! I LOVE cruises!! Where are you going??I've been on 2 of them and want to do more in the future!:)

Also, you may need some new clothes and just not realizing it yet! 20 lbs. gone is a LOT of weight! I just went shopping 2 weeks ago(I'm 17 down now) and didn't think I'd fit into size 20 dress pants, but I did! (Darn it for being a shorty though..booo!) :)

So I haven't been doing that great this last week...been really busy - funeral, church dinner, football game, concert...so I've been eating really bad. Probably not what most people would consider bad, but not nearly as healthy as I've been eating. Haven't even been to the gym in a week! Ugh! Won't have time to go today, but I'm determined to go tomorrow as soon as I get off work. I had no idea I'd miss working out as much as I do. Feeling sluggish, and just overall blah. On the upside, I haven't GAINED any weight, so I'm happy about that. Brought my lunch today - three bean turkey chili, and had a whole wheat pancake for breakfast, and sitting here guzzling water. So begins my journey to get back on the bandwagon and undo the damage I've done this last week!

Resisting the vending machine...

I'm tired, starving, and stuck at work late.... trying to resist the vending machines... I'm usually about halfway through my workout by now, but by the time I get out of here, run to Target for some necessities, and get home and get a snack, I'm going to be ready to pass out. Not to mention dinner... Argh!!!

  I have been there and done that! My bad habit was working late and then going out for burger and fries...Here's a suggesting that I read on SP that has come in handy this year. Lately I have been keeping a bottle of water at my desk...When I am tempted to go get a snack, I fix myself a bottle with any flavor of Crystal Light. Also, I keep those mini-bags of 100 calorie popcorn. That really came in handy the other day...even though I burned most of it...LOL
