Day 5 - 28day bootcamp

Wednesday, July 14, 2010

Day 5 - still going well. Tracked calories - went a little over. But burned quite a few extra calories doing Kathy Smith's step workout. Hadn't had that one out in a while - a great lower body workout. Did the floor work as well as it looked similar to the bootcamp one. I will be feeling this the next couple days!

Time for some more stretching, I think! :)

28-day bootcamp challenge - day 4.

Going great so far. I can see that some creative scheduling is going to be needed this weekend, tho. Its a busy one. But this challenge has definitely got me motivated again. SP is awesome! emoticon

A successful weekend.

Weekends are usually my downfall. Seems fairly easy to stay on track with eating when I'm at work - I take my alotted snack for the day, and eat that, and I'm ok. But on the weekend - all those "not so nutritious" things are around and handy. So, I went into this past weekend determined to not derail the efforts of the days prior, where I had worked hard to track and keep within calorie range. And, for the most part, I did it! And I was able to get some decent exercise in as well. A good feeling. Have had such a hard time getting the scale to budge, even tho I have put in many hours working out. I did realize that I had messed up my weight ticker a while back, tho, so, when I put it back, it atleast shows the small amt of weight I have lost! ;)

Joined the 28-day bootcamp challenge over the weekend to give myself a little extra motivation to be consistent, which is the big goal this month. So far, so good.

Three days - tracking calories. Not good at this, but am aiming for consistent tracking during July. Its getting easier as I learn to work with the tracker. The working out part of this journey is not so tough for me, but the eating part is! So here is to a good beginning to the month of July and a goal of tracking at least 24 days this month. emoticon

Work out variety

Saturday, April 24, 2010

Have found a new way to vary my wourkouts by mixing and matching. I have always used parts of my workout videos to custom make my sessions, but hated having to wait through the Federal warning and the stuff at the beginning. So this past week I borrowed youngest daughter's dvd player and set it up in the room where I do my workouts. Now I load my Leslie Sansone vdieo on it and a weight training video on the DVD player hooked up to the TV. All I have to do is pause them and switch to the other for a great circuit type workout. Currently I've been using Kelly Coffey-Meyer's Muscle Definition workout. She has some short premixes - 7-15 min. long focusing on particular muscle groups. It's fun jumping between the two - I love both instructors, but their personalities are a world apart - Kelly is tough and straight talking - "eight more, because you can!" Leslie is chatty, bubbly and effusive - "so glad you decided to walk today!" But both are great instructors and it gets the job done! emoticon
