I Love My Goal Board Check-In

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

I love my goal board check-in. Although I have not accomplished most of my goals on my board check-in but I have made an effort to work on them. Now, I have a lot of goals that I read each and every morning. There are about 20 goals. I have it set up like a daily confessional, or daily declaration. Some of my goals are spiritual, some are physical, and some are financial. Some are basic things that I forget to do like check my bank balance every day or update my to-do list.

I am making progress. It is so but steady. One of my most successful habits I've made since being on sparkpeople is reading my Goal Board Check-in each day! emoticon

Slow Progress is Progress! My epiphany!

Friday, April 25, 2014

I will make this short and sweet. I am slowly making progress. Lately its been pretty slow but I refuse to give up. I wanted to be a certain size by spring. That didn't happen. The closer spring came the more I slacked off. Setting deadlines does not work well for me. It gives me an excuse to quit when I am unable to meet them.

I read a blog by a fellow sparkperson and it was an epiphany to me. SLOW PROGRESS IS PROGRESS! I decided to throw away the deadlines and keep making steady progress. I am working on becoming a better me. It may be slow but it is steady.

I love reading the blogs. I hope you all realize the blogs can uplift the spirits of those struggling to change unhealthy habits. Thank you all for sharing your stories and your struggles. Together we can do it!

I also tend to have slow progress and have learned that when I lose it ....it is staying off and new habits are sticking. Do your best and forget the rest! emoticon

I Will Forgive Myself!

Wednesday, April 23, 2014

I am not giving up! I have to say that over and over. One of my statements I say to myself everyday is "I will forgive myself for my mistakes." I feel like I shouldn't be making mistakes at this point of my life but I do. I overeat. I get lazy. I don't plan. Then I wonder why I am not moving as fast as I'd like.

But I have to remember, I am moving forward. Although I have made some mistakes, I have made some gains. I eat better. I still eat junk food but not nearly as much as I use too. My breakfast and lunch meals are pretty decent. I have to work on shoving food in my mouth when I am really hungry at the end of the work day.

I also move around more. I take the stairs whenever I can. I do step aerobics every morning. (Well, most mornings) It just 10 minutes. Although it is just 10 minutes, it's 10 minutes more than I use to do. I do squats and planks in the evenings. (Again, most evenings) But I'm getting there. Where ever there is.

Anyway, I forgive myself for my mistakes. I will try to make less of them but I will keep moving forward.

Exercising problems

Thursday, January 09, 2014

In order for me to get my workout in I must do it in the morning. For 3 nights in a row, I've tried to get in my workout after work but was unsuccessful. Why? I've been babysitting for my daughter's three girls after school and they want to participate with me. There is not enough room and we are constantly bumping into each other. Although they are have a good time it is NOT FUN for me! So...I guess I will have to set the alarm a little earlier and get it in before company comes.
Get up earlier!!! Pray for me!!!!

I have the same problem, if I don't get it in in the morning, I don't find time later in the evening to exercise.

Sigh...that is a challenge. I find it much easier to work out first thing before I'm awake enough to think of excuses, but work schedule just doesn't fit. I joined the Workout After Work team to keep my self accountable and going. Praying for you to find a way that works for you.

Water! I just don't feel like drinking it!

Tuesday, January 07, 2014

I get bored drinking water. I do! Today is a very cold day and I needed something warm to drink. I didn't want any more coffee because I've already had 2 cups. I would be a wreck! emoticon Then I realized I had some frozen lemon wedges in the freezer. I boiled a cup of hot water and added a lemon wedge in to it. Yum! It helped me get in a few more cups a water for the day.

I loooooove lemon water! I don't drink as much as I'd like to but I love it!! I've been forcing myself to drink water....I get at least 4-16.9oz bottles in daily.

Keep it up! You can do it! emoticon

Good for you for being mindful about your water! I drink decaf coffee--but only 2 cups throughout the day. I've been chugging water before school to help increase my water intake. Keep up the good work!

An excellent thing to do. I get fed up with water sometimes so add a little sugar free lemon squash in. It keeps my fluid intake up.
I only ever have one coffee a day, often no coffee. I'm a tea drinker. I could imagine that I would be all of a jangle if I upped my coffee intake.
