May 2 - A Blessing of Grace

A Blessing of Grace
Today, may you go in the grace and peace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. May the grace he has given you be the grace that you share with others.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in
the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set
aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for
nothing.”

—Galatians 2:20-21, NIV

May 1 Blessing

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

I remember hearing about May Day as a kid -- as I recall, kids would put a small bunch of flowers on someone's porch, ring the bell, and go hide so they don't know where it came from. Wanted to share something special with you, my Spark friends. And then I found Max Lucado's 31 Days of Blessing. I will share one each morning with you this month, and pray that you feel God smile upon you and His strength flow through you to meet each need. Happy May Day!!

***ONE -- A Blessing of Hope
May the God of peace, the eternal One and only God, grant you an awareness of his immediate return. May you be patient, may you be eager, but most of all may you be found ready when he calls.

“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8, NIV ***

In One Day

Saturday, April 07, 2012

Think of this before you celebrate the joy of Easter morning: in One Day, Jesus experienced all the ugliness that people do to one another! This blog by Nicole Uncie really hit me! www.nicoleunice.com/blog/in-one-day/

My Newly Crocheted Ponchos

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Here are the 2 ponchos I made for my grand-daughters for Easter.

The blue/lavendar one is for Eden. I bought a lavendar shirt to go under it -- since they live in Phoenix, it needed to be very light & airy -- just something to cover her shoulders. It is crocheted from pretty fine crochet thread, not yarn. It was harder to work with initially, and the flowers were a bit tricky for me to assemble into the final piece. There is a draw string around the top so she can adjust it to fit in a scoop neck about at the collar bones. Am happy with the way it turned out.

The pink is for Megan -- our little Princess. Spring here in Colorado is usually cooler, so I used a light-weight yarn, but kept the pattern simpler (without the flower motif). I found the pink jeweled flower at Hobby Lobby and think it is just the right touch.

I like the way the fishnet pattern turned out on both -- and it was easy to do.

Great Job. I really like the blue one. But of course I would since blue is my favorite color. I crochet also from time to time. I made a few baby blankets, barbie doll clothes for my granddaughter, and some afghans. Keep up the great work. Gotta spoil them granddaughters.

Beautiful! You did a really nice job on those ponchos! I love to crochet, but usually only make afghans. I just finished my fourth one for this winter/spring. I did, however, make a bed doll for my six year old granddaughter for Christmas. Crocheting is very relaxing to me!

Good job! Keep on crocheting those memories for the little granddaughters!
