It's been a long time...

Saturday, February 11, 2012

Life happens and sometimes gets in the way. The trick is to learn to still stay focused when Life wants to shake things up. I've been horrible at mastering that.

The last year I've had a job change, made a lot of great friendships and lived life. While that was all wonderful, deep down inside one thing was missing. That was taking care of myself and ensuring I workout. I had this new lifestyle, but left out one important thing.

They say sometimes it's like a light bulb that goes off. That's surely how it felt for me.

I've been back in the swing of things for the last 3 weeks and I'm not looking back.

Road Trip

Sunday, July 25, 2010

So this weekend I took my first mini road trip by myself. My family reunion was in North Carolina and I live in NJ. I normally fly everywhere if the drive is greater than 4hours....lol!
Also most of my family lives down south anyway. But this time wanted to be adventurous so I decided to take the 8.5 drive myself. Thanks to my dad (who knows every short cut possible), my friends checking in along my drive and some good music, the 8.5 hours each way wasn't too bad. I hit traffic early on in VA going down and then coming back up today in DE (thunderstorm) but other than that everything was okay. I also wasn't nervous at all, except for bridges (as I have a fear of them)...but hey that comes with the drive so I made it through.

I am very proud of myself, because a year ago ,I wouldn't have even thought of driving that many hours by myself.. Yay for me! emoticon

Pushing through....

Monday, April 05, 2010

About 15 minutes into my workout on the treadmill I said to myself that I will just go 35 minutes...well 35 minutes came and my mind was not there..but my body was..so I said okay let's push for another 10. Then at 45 minutes, I went for another 10 and finished up at 55 minutes. Push through your thoughts and listen to your body..it will thank you later :-)

That is really great! I don't think we have to love every workout... we just have to move our feet! You did a great job surpassing your goals. Keep up the good work!

Week 1 down...

Sunday, October 11, 2009

So last week I moved my ticker back to zero. Those 10 pounds that I previously lost were back (plus a little more).

But it's okay, because I am going to do this.

I made a promise to myself to do the following:

*Work out a minimum of 3 days per week.
*Make sure I make time for me, even during my hectic work schedules
*Switch it up, so I don't get bored
*Track my progress
*Set mini-goals, so my overall goal isn't so overwhelming

So after week 1, I am down a 1/2 pound and 2 1/2 inches.

Mini goal for week 2: Double week 1's progess!!

Congratulations on getting the motivation to start all over again. It's much easier to just give up, so you made the hardest and best decision! Good Luck! emoticon

You can do it, you have started your weight loss journey by writing down your goals and agendas. It is good that you are on here explaining your goals because when you tell others or write it down you are more capable of doing the work.

I don't know what helps you but I like to watch the biggest loser, I encourage you to watch it because this season they have the heaviest people, I think to myself, if they can loose the weight, I know I can. It airs on NBC.You are beautiful and capable of completing your goals and beginning your journey.

Slow but steady....

Thursday, May 07, 2009

I am proud that I have not been discouraged my slow weight loss. The pounds are not dropping as fast as I like them to, but I am losing inches and my clothes are fitting better. My skin has also improved due to increasing my water intake...and I just feel good overall.

Next challenge to eat less bread..... emoticon
