Today is my 2 year anniversary with Spark......ya, why am I not at goal???????!!!!! I am NOT going to beat myself up about it. Lord only knows, I've had my ups and downs, but I am now heading in the right direction.....REMOVING this weight. I got on the scale and am down another 4 sticks of butta......2# this week, so far!!! I do NOT feel deprived either using my new DIET FREE methods with Zonya Foco, who by the way, commented on my blog yesterday! What a wonderful surprise........and that just spurs me on all the more, so thanks Zonya again, for stopping by.
I got out for a 25 minute walk yesterday and yes, the old pains in my calf/back do come back and unfortunately, this time, they didn't go away too quickly and actually were bothering me as I was trying to sleep last night, and I exercised around noon. Maybe I need to get out there sooner, so I am going to do that this morning. I am NOT going to give up on my walks!!! They are too important to me. I will wear my back brace, tuck my tummy in, for added strength, take my ipod and MOVE IT!
We have a wonderful service at our church tonight.....Holy Thursday, where people of the congregation will have one foot washed by our priest. It is really quite moving. I can only imagine what the last supper was like with Jesus.....I be they had a veggie or fruit with their meal! (I know they had bread)!! LOL!
I am hoping to meet my church/Spark friend for a short 10 minute walk tonight; I don't want a big flare up with the calf/back pain like I did last week, when I did too much exercise and was up most of the night........cuz my dd and her beau are driving in tonight from Chicago. His parents live 5 miles from us!
I met his mom in a grief service at our church 2 years ago, and she had lost both her parents within 7 months of each other. I asked her if she had children, and she said she had a son who lived in Chicago, and I told her my dd lived in the Chicago area too.....well, we emailed pictures of our kids to each other and I emailed my dd pix of her ds. It took almost a year for them to go out on a formal date, and that was last Sept. and since then, they are inseparable!!!!! He is very nice too, as we had him over for Christmas dinner! I just had to share that story......how God works in very mysterious ways!!

This was my 2nd class this morning......down 1/2#, and I'll take it.....that's 2 sticks of butta. We are not required to weigh in, but the scale is there if we want to. The only required weighing is the 1st and last class, which is in May sometime.
OK, so today we saw a video on the I of diet.....include breakfast and stop eating 2-3 hours before bedtime. The video was great. If you saw it on PBS, Zonya asked who liked donuts and a few people raised their hands, and she had one gal come up who usually ate 2! Anyway, Zonya had her can of shortening out and sugar and proceeded to scoop over 8 tsp. of shortening onto her hand! What a visual....that is what is in a donut along with I believe 8 tsp. of sugar, so her had was full!!!! Full of JUNKY ARTERY CLOGGING FAT!!!!!!!
I have homework too, recording "extra" movement to get every day and there is a place in my work book for this too along with good breakfast choices of cereals like Kashi Go Lean, Cheerios and a few more. Make sure when you buy a cereal it only has NO more than 8 gms. of sugar and at least 3 gms. of fiber. ALWAYS CHECK THE LABELS!
Good snacks to eat before bed......2-3 hours before....apple, cucumber spear rolled in a slice of turkey, a cup of blueberries, strawberries with yogurt, small banana.
I am really loving this class. I arrived at the hospital early enough to go for a 20 minute walk too, and that was great. Right now that is working best for me with my calf/back pain, which started during the walk, but the recovery time from it was very quick....like 5 minutes.
I'll be off shortly to teach RE....and I gotta get this house "picked up" again!! It doesn't take long for it become messy, and it's just me, DH and my cat, Bella!!!!!

I talked to my church/Spark friend yesterday and she told me she was helping out at our church, which is only a mile from our house, on a funeral luncheon and so this morning, I called her on her cell and asked her if she wanted to go for a walk afterwards. She said SURE!!!! It is sooooooo much more fun to walk with a friend, and so we did a 20 minute walk and I had thawed out turkey noodle soup, and she stayed for a healthy lunch too...with reduced fat Club Crackers!!!! I still have to "pick up" my house, but what a way to start the day!!!!!! Thanks Denise!!!!!!!
Avoid saboteurs. People will try to persuade you to go against your plan, whether they feel guilty themselves or jealous of you. Ignore them. Share your goals with positive people and change the subject around negative ones!

The first step in my new Zonya Foco program. Here is the link again to find out more about this program and dietician www.zonyafoco.com I am wearing my little blue elastic type bracelet that says drink water and think......meaning besides drinking water, think about what else you might be drinking that adds loads of calories to your day!! It is very visual wearing it and I am drinking my water....using my straw, the easiest way for me to get it in! I also dilute my water with Crystal Light....to just get a hint of flavor! I got on the scale yesterday and had REMOVED another 1#......very slowly getting rid of this butta......that is 4 sticks by the way.....a good visual for me!!!!

I called my church/Spark friend this am.....cuz I knew she was going to the mission that is at our church the first 3 days of this week; we sat together and went for a 30 minute walk afterward!!!!!!!!! My back did not bother me too much/nor my calf!! PTL!! I had my first Zonya session....and 21 people showed up......2 of them were men. Our first session is about water, but adding any form of exercise DAILY!! Also given to us were color coded wrist bands...8 in all as there are 8 Diet free Steps to this program...the first one being Drink Water and think....that means to really think about that soda, that cappuccino. I am not really into drinking those frothy type coffee drinks, but did you know that a Starbucks large java chip frappuccino has 560 calories!!!!!!!!???????? WOW...that is 1/3 of your daily caloric intake right there!!!!! I have homework too.....in my 128 page workbook....recording how much water I drink and also recording any type of exercise I do and to make time to do it even if you're on your cordless phone, which I try to do, and do squats when you brush your teeth. Oh, yes, we have a nutritionist besides seeing the 1/2 hour video and I like her motto........If it's fun, it gets done!! I think that's true....getting out with my friend for a walk, and of course, having the right frame of mind too........so make it fun so it gets done!!!!!
