Day 35.....finding your focus

WOW....I made it to the grocery store.....and out with NO junk food at all! Kroger even had Edy's ice cream on sale and I had a $1.00 off coupon; I just marched right past the showcase of ice cream and felt sooooooo strong!!!! YAY!!!!!

I read an old article on finding your focus, and here it is:

What do you really want to achieve by the end of 2010?? We know it's far away, but if it was anything like 2009, it too will be here before we know it!!!! Do you want to shed a few pounds? Finish a degree program? The fact is, while you may want to do it all, to succeed you will have to focus your efforts on a few things that really matter. Let go of all the things that aren't so important and really focus your attention and energy on reaching one thing at the end of this year.

This is what I am keeping in my mind...seeing me 20# lighter, feeling so much better, my back hurting less, the clothes feeling and looking better on me.....Visualize yourself right now.....what do you want to look like, or where do you want to be or what do you want to be doing? We can do it!!!!

From Spark: cultivate friendships. The happiest people spend the least time alone. Attend social gatherings, host a party, and call your close friends to catch up as often as possible.

    I had to tell you this right away before I forget...Eddy's has a frozen yogurt that is only 100 calories a half cup..buy some cones at only 15 calories and you have a wonderful snack...yup that is what I do...they have this cappochino chip frozen yogurt that is outstanding..I love it and have it every few days as my snack..so, use your coupon (I did) and buy that frozen yogurt..xxxooo T

    and eat i never saw any blog with so much food in it all the time i could never live your life because i don't think i am strong enough to pass it all up
i will say i did 378-105 and maintaining now for 2 plus years here..just in case i want to broadcast that again and it wasn't nearly as much fun as you are having lol the lady mary

    Kinda ahrd to do but you did great. My downfall is the bakery section with fresh goods. Ugh but i do good there, too.



However, I do get a package of skinny cow sugar free only. Now and again.
Your doing good.

  Sounds like a winning plan for 2010. After unsuccessfully looking for a dress for a funeral today...I am so ready to be able to put on one of my old dresses. With just a little more dedication...I'll be able to. Let's keep going in the right direction. Full speed ahead. Well, maybe not full speed...slowly but surely...works too. day 34......red hat lunch out!

I woke up not feeling too well...not sure why, but I was lying on the couch after I got up around 8AM; my cute little Bella came and laid on my legs; then around 10, I started to feel better, so I got in my red hat gear.....purple sweater, red hat, dark jeans and went to a neat tea restaurant....a prearranged lunch where we selected our meals beforehand, and I chose the Victorian salad with chicken and a raspberry vinaigrette and it was really good. The friend the left of me chose the chicken pot pie........covered in gravy, It looked really yummy, but I'm sure it was pretty high caloric, and the right to the right of me had the cheesy quiche, and boy did that look good and also pretty high calorie I'm sure. Ya, I wished I had ordered the quiche, but so glad I did not have to add up those calories!

    Wish I liked vinaigrette.............I would have order the salad but with Ranch on the side.
Hope your note coming down the the nasty virus that I just got over with. It's not fun, so take care my friend. Get your sleep and drink your water. Like I HAVE to tell you THAT!!!!!

    Theres been another flu/crud going around or a virus. today I woke feeling really heavy in the muscles. It was an unusual feeling but am okay now.

Day 32........and planning for imperfections

I went over to my new friend's for breakfast......She fixed us quiche with egg whites, basil, a little cheese and oregano, and it was so good along with grapes and cranberry orange scones, of which I had one; it was nice and small too! It was a great way to start my February!

I was reading an article for 10/09 in the Parade.....that I had saved. One of the headings was PLAN FOR IMPERFECTION. I will give you the jest of the article.

Nobody is perfect. Recognizing that fact and planning for the slipup will almost certainly increase your chances of keeping your resolutions over the long term!!!!! Just because you had a moment of weakness doesn't mean that you should throw in the towel. Instead, reaffirm your commitment to actually crossing the finish line. See it in your mind. List one or two small actions you can take immediately to get yourself back on track to attaining your goal!

Did anyone have a slip up in January? I certainly did, and I never really thought about planning it, but it does make sense. Get over it, and move on......really MOVE IT!!!!

Goal this month is........REMOVE 5#.....20 sticks of butta!!! Believing I can do it!!!!!! What's your goal???

    I have a goal of removing 20 sticks too! Think we can do it? I do!!

Great blog again. I sure did slip up. I bought too many treats for my husband, knowing full well who would be eating them. I got carried away in the beginning of the month but by the middle of boot camp I realized I was only hurting myself.

Day 31

It is hard to believe this is the last day of January....removed a total of 3#.....12 sticks of butta.....better than a gain! I'm trying to be optimistic about this whole thing, but these dreary days here in SE MI can get a gal down, so I'm trying hard to make it "sunny" inside!!!

DH and I are going out to dinner and take a walk around and see the rest of the zoo sculptures! I'm sure they will still be there, with temps in the 20's......and that's the high too!!!!!

Day 30

What a fun but very cold day yesterday was.....the high was 16!!!! I met my friend for lunch.....did eat a little out of my health range....chicken ciabatta..baked though with a little cheese and mushrooms and it came with fries, which I shared with my friend who had the Italian Ciabatta and onion rings, which she shared and I had two small ones. I did NOT, however, have the tall beer (22oz) that she ordered! We walked afterwards so I didn't feel quite so bad about eating that wonderful sandwich!!!

Our town is having an ice festival, so my friend I had lunch with, two other friends and my DH and I met them at a warming ten downtown, walked around, took the free horse trolley and looked at the zoo animals ice sculptures......it was very cold....15, but it was a lot of fun, especially when around 7:50 the fireworks began!

The tent had a few fattening foods for sale; I only bought a water......was still full from lunch, but my girlfriend bought marshmallows to roast on the fire that was outside the tent......I did not, and I felt good about not partaking in that.....I know they are lo cal, but they're so full of sugar. I'm paying more attention to grams of sugar as well as the sodium and fat content of foods. When DH and I got home, I had my leftover ground turkey with pasta dish and was quite content with that.

I slept so well last night too........probably cuz I was outside and breathing in that COLD fresh air a lot!!!!

It's not the load t hat brings you down, it's the way you carry it. Barbara Johnson

    You made excellent choices. So glad you ahd fun yesterday. We're not nearly as cold as you. We've been in the 40-50's yet I am bundled up good and warm when I go out. Gloves, knit scarf, knit had that wraps up almost all my head and face.
