Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Yesterday during the afternoon, before RE, my throat started feeling scratchy and I took an Echinachea.....not sure if I spelled that right; well, it did not ward off my cold.......still scratchy and now it is in my head, but I'm taking some otc stuff for my nose and sucking on lonzenges! At RE yesterday, I only had 4 kids show up.....kind of expected that, but we still had a good "thankful"
class and they made their cute horn of plenty paper centerpieces!

I am really liking my new Sketchers! I have them on right now and will wear them to my dentist to get on my perm. crown........it had better not fall out either!!!!!

I am wishing you all and very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! Remember in all to give thanks and find your blessings daily, even if it is just to thank God that you can type!!!!!!

Hugs to all! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Planning ahead......for Thanksgiving!

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Hello all.......just a few more comments about my trip.....hoping when DD comes home at Christmas she can update my page with a few pictures! We'll see; she's only going to be here for 4 days!! My very favorite was the Andy Williams show.....I cannot even tell you how super it was!!! He even had dancers, and impressionist, a super fast violinist, but AW was just so vocal, and he told us he walks 4-5 miles a day~!~!~!! With all that oxygen coming in and going out, his lungs must be in great shape, as he is too!!!! He even danced around the stage!!!!!

Oh, yes, I have to tell you I am getting my permanent crown tomorrow.....I called down to my dentist Monday AM.....and told the receptionist it had fallen out.......AGAIN even with this super glue stuff, and asked her if I could just forget it till 12/1.....when I was to get the perm. one. She told me no, to come down this morning.......then she called back within 5 minutes.......a rush was put on and I go down tomorrow afternoon for the PC!!!!! PTL!!!!

My brother is having T-giving, and all I need to bring is a tossed salad; I am psyching myself up to just eat what I really want, slowly and visualizing the portion control!!!! WE CAN DO IT! There is NO need to stuff ourselves, right; it is JUST ONE DAY!!!! I am not blowing it either!!!

Oh, yes, I do believe the Sketcher shape-up shoes helped a lot on my trip, however, the 4 hour bus ride back to St. Louis from Branson, then boarding a plane then driving home an hour from the airport did me in, and my back was bothering me yesterday even tho I wore the shoes. I really don't think I did enough of my yoga/stretches while on vacation, but really all the time during the trip.......was not in that much pain.....not enough for me to think about getting ice even! So another PTL!!!!!!!

Prayer is for the soul with nourishment is for the body. Unknown

So glad to hear you had such a wonderful time. I bet Andy Williams show is great from start to finish. He has always been so talented. He also has always seemed to be such a NICE gentleman. I hope your back will feel stronger soon. Thankfully you won't be lifting a turkey out of an oven tomorrow. You are so right...portion control...the only one gobbling tomorrow should be the turkey. Continued blessings. mary

What a great 4 days!!!!

Monday, November 23, 2009

WOW.......where did the time go!!!!!???? Right from the get go, our trip to Branson was to say the least phenomenal; We saw the Dixie Stampede....what fun that was......great costumes, lots of horses, racing pigs....too much to tell! Andy Williams show was great. This guy is 82 and walks and dances like he is around 52........two hours almost straight performance! Yakov Smirnoff was totally hillarious........my temp. crown fell off watching him!!!!! Daniel O'donnel was superb......and best of all I got rid of 3#, even though I ate well; did NOT overdo it and walked in my new Shape up shoes....which I think had something to do with it too......they are for weight loss as well as posture correction, and my back did pretty well too!!!!!

More later about my trip......lots to do around the house. You know how that goes when you get back from being gone just 4 days!!!!!

Hugs to all!!!!!! emoticon

Going on a short vacation....and can't wait!!!!

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Thanks for all your comments yesterday on my blog. I am sure these shoes are just the bestest and so glad I ordered them, especially if they DID NOT work out.......you can return without paying S & H!!!!! The DVD that came with them is a plus too, as there are workouts you can do with the DVD!!!! I wore them to my RE class yesterday too and my back was not bothered as much!!! Another PTL!!!!!

Tomorrow my friend and I are flying to Branson, MO with other friends.....a tour group, to Branson, MO......seeing Yakov Smirnoff, Danny O'Donnel and Mary Duff, the Andy Williams Christmas show, Dolly Parton Dixie Stampede dinner and show, Christmas lights disply in the Ozarks! I can't wait! We have an early flight at 6:45 and the airport is an hour away, so we'll be getting up around 3:15 to be out the door at 4:15 to pick up my friend!!!!

I look forward to talking to you all next week sometime!!!

PS.......my dentist used a heavier cement on my temp. crown, and it's still in, so hopefully won't have any problems with that while I'm gone, and I'm glad I am getting it in 2009.....75% coverage, and next year it is 50%!!!!!!!!

Sketchers Shape up shoes!!!

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Last week I ordered these cool "curved" shape up shoes......Sketchers...Work....have extra ski resistant sole! A dvd came with them too, and I ordered them from www.zappos.com and there is no shipping either way and no sales tax. Yes, they were a little spendy....$109.00. They start at $99.00, but these......the Work ones sounded more for me with my back problems, and I had them on for 1/2 hour just walking around the house and felt a difference in my posture and my back!!! I am soooooo happy!!!!

I got my crown yesterday and it fell out after I got home. I noticed some glue on it, that was noticeable and went to scrape it off and the tooth fell right out!!!!!! My dentist put in an "extra strength" glue!! PTL!!

I teach RE this afternoon and I'm going to wear my new Shapeups!!!!! I hope you guys check them out, or if you own a pair, let me know how they are working for you!!!!!

Tomorrow I am packing for my 4-day trip to Branson! I am so excited; haven't take a "girl" vacation in 3 years!!!!!!

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally. David Frost emoticon

I have the shapeups and I love them. i can walk in them all day now and my feet, knees, and back feel so much better. They do help your posture if you walk on the correctly. Never had a pair o shoes that I had to watch at DVD to learn how to wear them.

I'd like to know how the sketchers work for you. I have bad knew pain so I purchased the Z-coil shoes instead. I can tell a big difference. I've worn them to work when I had to be on my feet all day and I've also wore them to track on sunday and was able to walk for an hour without any problems. They are about twice as much as the sketchers but so far it's worth it. Check them out at www.zcoil.com
