WOW, I have a 61 year old husband! He is soooooo fit though; still has that same cute butt he had 31 years ago......still looks good in his jeans!!!!! He ran his 40' run this morning too!
Mary drove home last night, and he was very surprised; it was raining and she parked her car in our circular drive; put her umbrella to cover her face and rang the bell, and was he surprised!!!!!! So glad as it was soooo hard to keep it a secret! She made him a low fat red velvet cake with egg whites and applesauce in place of the oil!!! I can't wait to try that later on tonight. Well, we're off to a restaurant for lunch to celebrate his big day!!!!!
I am lector tonight at mass and we are taking him to his very favorite restaurant, Famous Dave's! He loves the ribs! I will have the broasted chicken and I think it's called pulled pork!
Everyone, enjoy the weekend; try to keep it a healthy one too! I am really going to try to too!!

WOW......I got all strapped in and my dr. pushed it up to 90#!!!! It really is not painful at all during the decompression....just a stretching type of thing...in case any of you were wondering; I have not even had to ice yet today!!!!! My sis-in-law called me and she suggested I get an ergo sit pillow....it helps to correct your posture. Here is the phone # 1-800-438-7661. It is 29.95 + $10.00 shipping, and I just ordered one; I'll let you know more about it when I receive it. I would pay almost anything to get well; this gal is a really neat sis-in-law who unfortunately does not live near me. She lives in Sun Valley, but she too has undergone the spinal decompression and swears by it after undergoing epidurals, acupunture and other remedies! If you google search ergo sit, you can find out more about it too.
Tomorrow is DH's birthday and my daughter is driving out this afternoon to surprise him! I can't wait. He knows NOTHING about this, cuz yesterday he got several cards in the mail, and I said "Gee, I wonder if Mary remembered your birthday.....oh well she has a couple of more days!!!!!" I made some very low fat brownies from a mix.......adding ff jello pudding instead of the oil, 4 egg whites instead of 2 eggs and 1/4 C. water. Mary loves brownies; the smell was driving me crazy, and yes I did have ONE!!!!!! I had to make sure they were edible!!!!!!

There are days when I just don't feel happy, and I have to make up my mind to be.....especially when I don't feel too well....with my back issues. NOT a day goes by where I don't ice my back! Maybe some day; I'm praying for that but I think that has a lot to do on days I just don't feel like being happy, but I read this from my Power for Life daily devotional....words from the Robert Schuller family and this one is from his son, Robert Anthony Schuller.
"Happiness isn't a state of being...it's a state of consciousness. It's an intention decision you and I make.
I was raised in a very positive home. In the mornings, we all had breakfast together. These breakfast were a perfect way to send us off to conquer the worlds. They always included a time of devotions where we would sing a song, read the Bible, and recite a poem. One of the poems we recited together went like this:
I'm going to be happy today, though the skies may be cloudy or gray. No matter what comes my way, I'm going to be happy today.
Happiness is a CHOICE we make and choosing happiness makes life more fun!!! Whether you married or single, rich or poor, you can still be HAPPY. It's up to you. Choose happiness today!"
I think part of being happy or choosing to be is getting rid of junk food that makes us unhappy. OK, it makes us happy for a really short time; we eat whatever it is that we think makes us happy, then the crash comes and the guilt. We look down at our stomachs or thighs or whatever your trouble spot is and do we feel happy then????? I don't think so! So please, to help you get happy, think healthy and visualize the new you with a slimmer body. I think we have to actually see ourselves in our mind too eating that piece of fruit, veggie, and getting through the day without the junk........that makes us junky and unhappy.
Choose happiness........even if you really don't feel happy right now

Man, I really felt a great pull yesterday afternoon with the 85# pull!!! Dr. told it would probably be 90 on Friday! Bring it on!!!!!!
This morning was my 55+ group board meeting! It lasted almost 3 hours. I went to mass first, actually rosary was being said, and I joined in. I always feel calm when I recite my rosary and included family, friends, Spark friends during my rosary time. Anyway, back to the meeting. It was long, but we covered a lot of ground, upcoming meetings, trips, Christmas party and looking into 2010 and planning dates there too!!!!
It is raining here today, washing all the dust away and greening things up once again. I actually the rain and the sound of it on the deck, cuz I have my slider open! The birds are even singing!!!
Blessings to all of you!!!

It is a beautiful morning here, but I do feel fall is right around the corner, and that is one of my favorite times of year........the crispy mornings, the beautiful changing color of the trees!
Today will be #13 on the decompression table......with 7 more to go after that! So, 20 in all! I am having it this afternoon cuz I have a board meeting tomorrow after mass around 9AM! I am the president of this group at my church 55+ club.....right now it is called Senior Fellowship Network, and I DO NOT like that name.....makes me think of "old" people, so that is one of the things I want to change, but it has to go for a vote! That will be next month at our first meeting. I became president, when in our church bulletin, it would be phased out if no one came forward, and I just did not want to see that happen, but I have a great group helping me out, a good VP, 2 co secretaries, 2 co social chairs, and a treasurer. Also, our facilitator is a huge help; he is paid staff, but he has been doing this for years, so his input is invaluable.
Keep smiling........look in the mirror when you do......then frown; which one looks prettier!!!!!!?????????? or I know which one most of you will pick!!!!!!! ( I hope anyway)!!!!!
