Weight Loss Competition!

So, things got a little nuts with the holidays and I found myself up to 210 pounds today. UGH! What a horrible number.

Anyway, with that out of the way I am moving on! Some church friends and I are starting a weight loss competition tomorrow. We all weighed in at church today and paid $10 to enter. Whoever loses the most fat% at the end of eight weeks will win the pot. I am motivated and I pulled out all my fitness DVD's and made a schedule on a blank calendar to get me started. Not only do I want to ditch this weight, but my blood pressure is up, and I want to WIN THAT MONEY. I am scary competitive so I know that wanting to win will help me. Once I start losing weight that is motivation enough. So, tomorrow morning at 5:00 I begin this competition and get ready to kick my flabby can to the curb.

In spite of all the AMAZING holiday food that has been available to me lately, I am still just not eating as much as I normally do. I went to a party on Saturday, and I ate what I wanted, because, it's the holidays! I wasn't going to worry about it, you know? It was great, and I have watched my food the days before that party and since. So I am proud of that.

I am down one more pound which puts me at 199. There is a 1 in the front of my weight again!!! Sweet. That was the worst party, food-wise, so the the rest of the season should be A-OK! Cookies are not a big attraction for me, and that will be the worst food in the house. WOO HOO!!!

Four Pounds GONE!

So I ended up losing 4 lbs this past week just by sticking closely within my nutrition goals and increasing my exercise. I have not killed myself, but I am trying to do something each day. Walking, hiking, an exercise DVD. I skipped the weekend even.

I know this is the early initial weight loss, and a lot of it has to do with increasing my water intake as well. But I am encouraged and doing my best to keep up with tracking my food and exercise.

65 more pounds to go. But, if I stay the course I should be at goal weight by July. July seems manageable. I do know I don't want July to roll around and have me be right where I am now.
