Hit all nutrition goals today. Didn't go over calories, almost though.

Exercised 65 minutes this morning.

Took daughter to doctor, ear infection so they can give her antbiotics for this one. yeah.

School should be open tomorrow so I can get some running around done and go visit a friend then go to wrestling in the afternoon.

    You are taking wrestling lessons? I wrestled in Jr. High School. It is the absolute most energy that can be burned in 3-3 min periods. If you last that long.

Day 3

Monday, February 21, 2011

Didn't think I did that bad today until I put the food into the tracker. Oh well most of it was good for you food. Got to get a handle on my snacks. Did do better in the amount of snacks though.

Did 3 different workouts today. Couldn't decide which I wanted to do so just did 15 minutes of 2 and 20 of another. I got cardio in with the Spark dvd and with hula hoop and did strength with a McDonalds dvd I got years ago and never did it but couldn't throw it away. It's a good dumbell workout and is only 15 minutes. Works all but your abs.

Decided if I can do my workouts for the whole month(5 days) at least per week I will buy me the next weight up of kettlebell. This will be my reward for March. Really want it so maybe it will motivate me.

    A kettlebell is a great reward to work for.

Nice job for getting 3 different workouts done today. And isn't it ironic that McDonald's would have an exercise DVD? It's a really a pretty good idea on their part.

Day 2--5% challenge

Started out the day with french toast with the kids. Kept to only3 slices, not so bad. forgot to have lunch, just had a few saltines. Then had ravioli for dinner. Unfortunately the cherry twizzlers called me and I ate some of them, not all though.

Did my kettlebell workout this morning. I can't believe it actually burns 1200 calories for an hour. Either I eat way too much and don't write it down or it doesn't really burn that much. Doesn't matter I guess I enjoy the workout and I feel better when I do it so that's good enough.
I try to do this workout at least 2 days each week then do others on days I don't have 55 minutes to do it.

Tomorrow I have another girl with some kinda of sickness, ear ache, sore throat, and stuffy nose so off to the doctor again. The school by us is hit so bad they closed school for tomorrow. Even the teachers are sick. Can't imagine that 1 day is going to make much difference but we will see. Don't think my 5 year old will be back to school even on Tues, she can't stop coughing, can't send her like that. Oh well we will see about that too.

    Hope your daughter feels better soon. I'm going to look into the kettlebell workout workout. I've never heard of anyone doing it.

    Sorry to hear that your daughter is sick... hope she's better soon! These "bugs" that are going around this year are some nasty ones!

I love my kettlebells... they really are a fantastic workout!!!

    Both my brothers kids have nasty colds and the doctor told my sister in law that she had the beginning of pnemonia. We are sending my mom to the doctor monday . Don't want to play with this cold that is going around this year.

    Good for you managing to get in a 60 minute workout with sick little ones at home. Try not to get too caught up in the number of calories you've burned during a workout. Remember they can vary wildly for a number of reasons. Just count on the cumulative effect of working out on a steady basis.

Commitment Blog

THis is my commitment blog so that my team earns 5 extra points. I have done these 5% challenge since last spring. Some have been good others I haven't had the motivation or time to work at it so was not so successful. I plan to stay committed this time. I have to concentrate on me for a change.

My expectations for this 8 weeks
1. stay committed to the team and me
2. Get into the habits that are healthy
3. Lose at least 5%

My Goals
1.Stay within range everyday
2. Exercise 5 days weekly even if it is only 15 minutes
3. Visit the team daily to log in exercise and what ever else we are doing

Reason for changing life
1. I am sick of being FAT
2. Summer is coming and I have to keep up with the kids
3. I feel SO much better when I exercise and eat properly

Challenge # 5 Trigger Foods

My trigger foods a usually anything sweet , salty, or chocolate. When I started this journey I just didn't buy anything that was a trigger. The kids and husband had to have snacks that I didn't like that way I didn't have them in the house.

Now I see the foods in the grocery store and if I have a coupon or they are on sale I figure I can control myself. Boy am I wrong. Lately it doesn't even have to be unhealthy food, it just happens when I eat something and it is yummy so why not have more and before I know it I have eaten several helpings and blown my calories way over the range.

I have found that somethings that I do trigger the eating. Like reading a book, I love the hand to mouth eating like popcorn or cereal or candy. I know that I can change this again because I did it last winter. Maybe I just have to limit my reading to when I am on my nordic track and when I am going to bed then I will get out of the habit again.

Most of the time I am not even hungry when I pick up the food and tell myself that I don't need it but get it anyway and eat away. Shopping day is Thursday maybe I can resist by putting a note on the top of my list that says NO MUNCHES for MOM.

Thanks for listening. I know I will get this under control again. It is way to easy to go back to the old eating habits and I don't want them again.

    My trigger activity is driving and I drive a lot for work the only way out is to cary celery and carrot sticks. As for trigger foods graham crackers and those darn girl scout cookies. OK I'll shut up now.. emoticon
