LindyLou update

Wednesday, September 10, 2014

For those of you who remember when LindyLou joined our family, a little over a year ago, this is an update on how she looks and how she's doing.

She is now officially OUT of her kennel. She has been in there at night since she was a month old, also when we were out of the house, because she was un-trustworthy about "accidents" in the house, also because left to her own devices she would eat the eyes off of all the kid's stuffies.

She is now HUGE and so loving and precious. She tries really hard to be "good" when she can figure out what we want. I'm not sure she's the sharpest tool in the shed. But since when does intelligence equal worthiness or lovableness. At any rate I think she's dumb as a doornail and I adore her. Anyway, here she is, being her cute and precious self!

Thoughts I want to remember

Monday, September 08, 2014

I'm going to collect things here that I hear or read, so that I can review them later and be inspired all over again!

My first one is:
I am going to love and be grateful for my entire body, with all of it's imperfections because without this mortal vessel, I could not experience all the joy and pain of living.

I want to lose weight by eating nothing but moon pies, which have significantly less gravity than earthier foods such as fruits and vegetables.” ― Jarod Kintz (not exactly inspirational but it really fits into my sci-fi/Star Trek mentality)

Many more people could ride out the storm-tossed waves in their economic lives if they had their year's supply of food and clothing and were debt-free.

Interesting. Don't know if you can ever be prepared totally for anything in this economy.

Baked Potato Soup

Thursday, April 03, 2014

I just want to save this link so that I can finally close the window to it on my computer. I've had it open for weeks, because I want to try this recipe but haven't gotten around to it yet.

that does look good.
Reina you will be so proud to know we have 3 lone butternut squash left from last years havest and about 8 lbs of potatoes.
Of course it's hard to guess at how much you need to make it thru the winter without having to buy from the Grocery store but I'm pretty pleased I was able to go this long eating our own food.
I found the butternut squash lasted longer in storage than the acorn squash did. I will adjuct my crop this year to reflect that.
I'm looking forward to getting some plants going in the Greenhouse.
Hope your week is going well.
Hugs,
Dee emoticon

Spring Break

Saturday, March 22, 2014

I just got back from walking LindyLou and Scotty, the 5th day in a row. It's so fun, walking her, now that she doesn't yank my arms off. That nose collar is WONDERFUL! Today she barked and barked and barked, the entire walk. She is the talking-est dog I've ever met. Also, she wanted to yank ahead and run with April's babies, but she couldn't and that was nice. Scotty was good, like he always is. Hopefully she will pick up some of his good habits. Dominic and I had a wonderful walk.

Today is my second day of Spring Break and I celebrated it by sleeping in then going for a walk. So far I am enjoying it immensely. I work tomorrow (Sunday) but Monday morning I am going to start looking for a different job, because this one is giving me varicose veins from being on my feet all day. (although it also takes some weight off me!!)

I just know what you mean about sleeping in! I'm just coming to the end of a week's break from work and the best thing has been waking up in the morning and knowing I haven't got to rush off to work!
Enjoy the rest of your break and well done with walking
