5:2 Diet Week 7 - Fast 2

Thursday, January 02, 2014

When I weighed in this morning I'd gained 2 lbs. Really bummed about that. I'm hoping it is temporary--water weight or something. I'll check again in a couple of days.

Lunch: 175 calories
Chicken soup with rice (Campbells)

Dinner: 452 calories
Homemade chicken soup with bean threads and veggies

What is your total weight balance over the 7 weeks of the diet?

I am in my week 4 and today is my second fast day of the week. During the first week, I lost over 2 kg, but then it stopped and even reversed. My last weighting showed a number just tiny bit smaller than my starting weight couple weeks ago!
I have my period now- an excellent reason for water retention, but anyway.....
I start to wonder if I'm sneaking in too much calories on the normal days. I would like to read about other peoples experience.

5:2 Diet Week 7 - Fast 1

Monday, December 30, 2013

Things got a bit erratic over the holidays, but the last time I weighed myself I was holding steady. So now its time to keep focused on my goals.

I'd like to be at or under 200 lbs by the end of January. In order to meet that goal I have to consume no more than 1,800 calories on non-fast days, or if I take in more than that, I have to burn off the extra calories. That means I can't just pig out on my non-fast days. Moderation is key.

I'm meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow, but first we're taking a 45 minute walk around the lake.

Breakfast: 47 calories
Usually I skip breakfast on fast days, but I woke up hungry this morning.
2 sliced deli-style chicken breast, 1 (yes one!) almond

Lunch: 96 calories
1 cup organic broccoli soup from the carton. Very bland. I added pepper, cayenne, 1 T. milk, 1 T. parmesan

Dinner: 372 calories
Left over chicken thigh & drumstick, baked, no skin
a couple of mushrooms
whole wheat bread

5:2 Diet Week 6 - Fast 1

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

The grim truth is that I have put on a couple of pounds between Thanksgiving, meals out with visiting family, a cookie exchange and potluck. So not happy about this. But I'm not quitting in defeat.

Lunch: 90 calories
Nonfat Greek Yogurt

Dinner: 425
Thai Chopped Chicken Salad - Sooooo delicious!

Well....carry on! Hopefully the weight news will be better next time.

5:2 Diet Week 5 - Fast 1

Monday, December 09, 2013

I've pigged out a LOT on my non-fast days the past 2 weeks and really need to rein that in.

I was a vender at an art show on Saturday & Sunday and am pleased with my sales, plus I always really enjoy meeting the shoppers and hanging out with the other artists. I won a prize for having the most attractive booth!

Breakfast - none

Lunch - 165
Garlic Sourdough bread with a roma tomato

Dinner - 318 Calories
Tuna Casserole. Here's the link: www.skinnytaste.com/2011/01/skinny-t
una-noodle-casserole.html
The basic recipe is sound, but it is too bland for us. I added garlic, pepper and diced jalapenos. mmmm

Just had to share this. It made me laugh!

5:2 Diet Week 4 - Fast 1 & 2

Wednesday, December 04, 2013

I was so busy that I didn't even blog during my first fast this week. But I did fast, so all is well. I fasted today too, but went over my my calorie limit, because of a miscalculation. So my ending calorie count for the day is 622.

Today is my weigh-in day. I gained a half a pound over the Thanksgiving weekend. That's actually not bad, considering that my brother was visiting us and we ate out a LOT while he was here. But now it is time to get back down to business and make sure that the weight keeps inching downwards!

I have a jewelry show this coming weekend. I have finished making sure that all my jewelry is tagged--always a tedious job. I think I am more or less ready. I hope the shoppers are ready too!
