Okay i'm new to this weekly weigh in malarky....Is it normal to get the fear?? Its the day before my weight watchers weigh in and i'm really nervous! I don't know why though, i've been really good sticking to my points and have even stuck to my jogging (a friend and I have started the couch to 5K app....but that's a different story lol). So is this a normal feeling?....do i have to go through this every week lol? Well I will be back tomorrow with a weigh in report....keep your fingers crossed for me :)

Because scales measure everything from fat to water to your last meal, it's a bit of a lottery what result you get. And thats where the nerves come from, you know they might not reflect your genuine effort, and make you look like you've been cheating when you haven't. It's a shame they rely so heavily on something so inaccurate. Good luck with it.
I'm not even too sure what i'm worrying about.... I think its getting a disappointing result on the scales. I have never done this before either so I am never too sure what to expect. But your right I will not be defeated by the scales. I was considering getting my own set of scales so I would have an idea of how i was doing, but I was talked out of it lol! I actually didn't realise that not being told your weight each week was an option, i may think about that in future if I keep getting the fear, i'm hoping that i will lose weight though and that will motivate me for another week. Thanks so much for the helpful replies!!
if you've got a good plan, and you really stick to it, you should get over the nervousness after a few weeks of seeing positive results. then you will really look forward to weigh-in day! or is it going public that causes the jitters?
I think it's normal to be nervous and experience some fear before weigh in, at least it is for me. Funny, it didn't used to be like that. When I was younger, I looked forward to each weigh-in day. But since I have aged, my metabolism isn't as good as it once was and the weight comes off a LOT slower these days. If I remember correctly, you don't have to KNOW your current weight when you attend WW meetings. I'm not saying you don't have to weigh in, but I think you tell the person weighing you at the meeting that you do not wish TO KNOW your current weight, they will weigh you, record it and you don't have to know if it's a gain or a loss...I think some people did this who wanted to keep track monthly instead of weekly. The main message I am getting at here is try hard not to let the SCALE defeat you. If it makes you nervous or fearful.... just focus on the changes you are feeling. Example: higher energy levels, maybe the small changes you can see in the mirror or inches lost. Whatever it takes to keep you focused and working toward your goals.
Well another week brings another weigh in, and this was my second weight watchers weigh in (say that 3 times fast :) I lost 5lbs! Was very happy and very surprised, I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out because its quite strange getting used to counting points. Its a funny situation going to a class each week and getting weighed, but everyone is lovely and its really motivating to hear peoples weight loss stories! The challenge from weight watchers this week is to focus on breakfasts and to plan them properly, so you know what you're eating each day. So that's what i'm going to try to do!
Well this is my first ever blog! I've only been on spark people for a week, but its so inspiring to read other peoples blogs, and I love to hear how everyone is getting on throughout the week, so I thought I would give it a go!! So I came across sparkpeople on New Years day after searching the internet for some weight loss inspiration. I'm still very new to this, and have only been brave enough to post on one message board so far but i am pleased to report that week one went great! I lost 3 lbs HURRAH! I not only changed some of my eating habits, but after joining a few sparkteams i also managed to drink 8 glasses of water everyday, and do at least 10 minutes of exercise a day (normally more!) Most importantly i'm feeling really positive right now! I even went and joined my local weight watchers last night, something i have been putting off for about 2 years because i wanted to lose a bit of weight first.....yes i'm crazy I know ha! So im going into week two feeling great and really optimistic!
