I was out walking and ran into a wise friend walking her little Scottish Terrier known as Scooter. He enjoyed sniffing out rabbits and exploring the lawns as Dee and I talked and walked. I shared something that is a struggle for me, and her counsel was to pray about it. Those were the words I needed as I headed back to my home. I turned on my praise music and listened to songs by BeBe and Cece Winans, Mahalia Jackson, Michael W. Smith, and Kim Hill before I opened my front door. The combination of a prayerful friend, time spent talking to the LORD, and hearing uplifting music has elevated my soul to a much higher level than before. I didn't even know I was carrying such a burden on my heart. My faith is not a feeling or emotion. It breathes in and out at the same rate I do. The LORD is real to me and close enough sometimes that I experience hugs He gives through chats, music, or actual hugs from some of my students, coworkers, and family. Thank You, LORD, for this morning!
