Day 1 Success...Day 2 Remains to be Seen

Tuesday, May 06, 2014

So I successfully got out of bed early and got myself to the gym yesterday morning. emoticon emoticon I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 5 minutes of stretching. emoticon emoticon
Then it was back to the house to shower and get ready for work. At lunch I even walked over to the Hallmark store and back (about 0.5 miles each way). emoticon

Today...meh...I think I tossed and turned all night long! And then, when I did wake up 40 minutes AFTER my alarm was supposed to go off, I realized I had the alarm set to music instead of buzzer. So much for today's gym trip!

But all is not lost. Although I was supposed to start a full body strength training routine this morning, I can still do sets of squats throughout the day. So far I've done 2 sets of 10. I can also walk at lunch. And this evening I have an event to go to that is about 0.5 miles from my office, so I'll walk down there.

Food has been good; at least for one day! I packed breakfast and lunch yesterday, and I cooked dinner when I got home. Today I have also packed breakfast and lunch, but I do have to buy my dinner since I'm not going home before the event. I'll probably get a salad from Fuddrucker's and save half of it for lunch tomorrow.

Have a great day, everyone! emoticon for allowing me to ramble...

We never know what the new day will bring, but just by thinking positve & thanking the Lord for a new day seems to start everything off in the right direction

HAVE to start over...

Sunday, May 04, 2014

It's official; I now weigh more than I ever have before. When I first started my journey I weighed 142, and I successfully got down to around 110. It is amazing how fast the weight can come back! Mind you, I fluctuated between 110 and 120 for a few years. But I quit smoking in October, and I weighed about 120 then. I now weigh 149.8. 30 pounds in 6 months...

So now I start again. I have a cruise booked in August that I'd really like to be in shape for. As a matter of fact, I'd LOVE to be able to feel comfortable in a bikini then. The fact that I'd knock my husband's socks off with that is just gravy! And since he's working internationally right now, I can do this without him being aware of what's going on except on the fringes.

I have a plan and a schedule set up for my workouts. I'm not making major changes in my diet, except to stop eating out most days of the week. I subscribe to the low calorie emeals option, so my weekly dinner menus include lots of vegies and nutrient dense meals. So here goes...the adventure starts!

Before pictures taken today...

(As you can see, I have A LOT of work to do again)

My plan is to go to the gym before work in the mornings. On Mon/Wed/Fri, I'll be doing cardio, either the bike, the elliptical, or swimming. On Tues/Thurs, I'll be doing strength training. Tomorrow will be my first morning in the gym so I'd better head to bed now.

This winter must have been hard on a lot of us. I have gained 10 pounds over the winter. I get so upset with myself, and want to wallow in self pity. That's not helping anyone. You are on the right track....you have a plan--now go for it.

    You can do this...

I should have as much courage as you - to post pictures and make this restart of mine official. I need to lose 15 pounds that I have regained, but keep saying I will and then I don't.

I'm right there with you!! I have to take new "before" pictures tomorrow but I weighed in today at 186 lbs. that is 46 lbs up from my lowest about 2 years ago and almost 30lbs up from just 6 months ago! Tomorrow, I start T25 and I plan on tracking my food again. While I dislike tracking my calories, I realize it helps a ton and keeps me accountable. I just have to get back in the habit of doing it. We can do this!!

You have succeeded once and you will succeed again. You know what you have to do so just go do it. Don't worry about when you must get there. Just take it one step at a time. It is obvious that you are a winner. Keep on keeping on and you will reach your destination. Enjoy life along your journey. emoticon

    The end product looked amazing!

Before the first freeze here, we had a bunch of green tomatoes. I had to use them somehow so I ended up making green tomato relish. I ended up with 17 pints.

Look at you... looks delish! I have never canned but I have dried sliced/seasoned tomatoes in the oven and then froze them. I use them in salads, soups and pizza.
