I choose to be happy

Tuesday, June 08, 2010

I was reading an article on happiness and there it says that you can choose to be happy. The happiness does not come a fancy car, big house, plasma tv and so on. If we do not look for happiness in our self we will not find it because happiness is there and no were else.

The article also says:

Have you ever decided to be a happy individual ? If not say to your self.

I, "your name", choose to be a happy individual no matter how the weather is, how the world is, or no matter what is happening to me. I have the right to be happy and I know it. I am going to fill my live with positive thinking and I am going to get the happiness and the happiness is going to get me. This is this simple!.

Being happy is a choice to be a happy individual.

THanks so much, I needed to read this today. I've been a little down on myself and your "mantra" has really helped me. I've written it down so I can repeat it every day. You're great, good luck. emoticon

I say this often. Of course, I'm not happy all of the time, but most of the time, and there have been plenty of things in the last couple of years that could make me very unhappy -- but what's the point? It's more fun to feel happy!

You're absolutely right about happiness coming from within. Our own decisions and reactions are what make us happy or not. Like you, I choose to be happy!

It's really important to see that "things" don't make you happy. It is definitely attitude. Well said, Thankyou.

Thanks for this great blog! I try to remember those things every day, too - that I can't control other people or situations, only my own attitude and choices... And, I make mental gratitude lists when I need a boost.

I went to a running course

Tuesday, June 08, 2010

I decided to go to a running course. I know there is a lot you can read about running but I thought that it would be grate to get some education from a person, and being able to ask the person questions when they came up.

The course is two nights (2x3 hours) and one time where we go outside and he watch us run, and he will teach us stuff.

My first class was yesterday and I learned a lot! He was telling us how to find out what pace we should run in a tempo run, slow run, normal run and stuff like that for our self. And he explained the purpose and what all these run's were.

I thought I new it all, but I guess I didn't heheheh :)

He also thought us to read exercise plans, and make plans for us and he also talked a lot about Lactic acid (milk acid) and how we should train to make our milk acid threshold higher.

I didn't know that you could go for a blood test to find out where your threshold is, but there were also some study in the University of Iceland were some students made a test that you can just do on the Tread Mill and they say it is more accurate then the blood test :)

Guess what I am going to do on my TM heheheh :)

What I found out from these course is that I am running to fast when I am running my slow runs and I look forward to try to run slower hehehe.. On next Monday I will learn how to use a heart rate monitor when I am running and he tells me that by using that I will get more from my exercise.

Pretty cool!

Oatmeal

Monday, June 07, 2010

Last week I started to eat Oatmeal for breakfast. I always had one toast with cheese, butter and a Coffey (with milk).

People around me have been telling me how oatmeal is good for you, it is healthy, cheep and easy to make. I gave people a rather uninteresting look when they mentioned the word Oatmeal and I stopped listen :)

But my friend told me to buy frozen unsweetened blueberries and put vanilla and cinnamon in the oatmeal with a slash of agave syrup and salt and try that.

Guess what! I like it!

I was reading that Oatmeal may help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of hart disease.

It can help you control your weight (because you do not need that much to get full)

It is natural!! and that is a good thing and it has a wide array of vitamins, minerals and antioxidant.

I like how quick it takes a oatmeal to get ready and it is convenient to store it and cook it.

What I like best is that I eat 150 less calories now in the mornings :) :) :) and I am not hungrier :)

Hey.. I bought myself a new running jacket yesterday :) :) :)

I also love oatmeal! We eat it every morning when it's cool outside - and I am planning to keep it on the menu this summer, though probably not every day... I make ours with cinnamon, chopped apple, sometimes a couple spoonfuls of applesauce for sweetening, and usually some frozen blueberries, too. SO healthy!

You look so cute in your jacket!

I've been adding dried fruit, crushed walnuts, cinnamon and a bit of honey to my oatmeal. That's fuel well into the day for me!

    Very cute jacket!

I love oatmeal in the winter when it's cold. And right now I eat overnight oats -- I mix 1/3 cup oats with 1 tbsp almond butter, 1 mushed-up banana, & 1 tbsp chocolate agave nectar. Then I put it in a warm oven for half an hour in the morning -- altho many eat it straight out of the fridge.

I love oatmeal - without the agave - just berries, or banana or kumquats and Fat Free milk. Have to be careful with my portion size tho as I like it so much - have started measuring it carefully (boring! but necessary) and yes - feel full for longer

I am glad you like oatmeal, I do too, but the type we get in Santiago doesn't have the same taste as what I get in Australia! Very frustrating!

Might try the added fruit trick and see if that helps.

wow, fast pack. I just ran a 5k and 32:59 would be in the top 25 percentile of the race. In mine there were runners and walkers with the fastest being 18:49 and the walkers being around an hour, but lots of racers were between 30 and 60 minutes

My 5k race tonight, got my personal best :)

Thursday, June 03, 2010

WOW this race was fast! I was third last through the finish line but it was a PB for me!! So it was really really really fast hehehe :)

I knew some people there and because the route was 2.5 and then turn I met all the people and we encourage each other to run faster! I also knew the photographer and he said GO GO GO YOU ARE DOING GOOOD GO GO GO heheheh :)

There was this girl I knew that was running her first race and her first 5k, but she got to know the c25k program through my blog and she desided to run her last week in the c25k program by going to this race. She was last through the finish line, but she was really close to me and she finished strong, and guess what! She won a price!!! a chocolate cake for 25 people hahaha :)

She is going to celebrate her 35 years old birthday next week so she got the cake for it :) Wow she was so happy, and it was a grate thing see her finish the race and seeing how happy she was.

But my PB is daraaaaaaaaaaaaam pace 06:29 or 5k in 32:59! The official time will come tomorrow (I hope) and some pictures hihihi :)

Here is the route, but it was by the coast line and we got the wind in our back the first 2.5k and then in our face when we were running after the turning point :)
