Finally seeing some results....

Saturday, March 30, 2013

You know I thought I would never see the numbers on the scale moving down.. i decided not to weigh my self everyday.. once every month.. I have a tendency to become obses with the weighing part.. I want it to go slow and steady and without the stress.. so I am down 5 pounds in three half weeks now a month from now I shall do it again.. this time even inches were falling off three an half inches over all.. that is great I think i could not believe it.. but the best part of it all is that I am walking everyday for 30 mins.. I set myself up for 10 mins and end up with 30... Yesterday Where I live is a county fair going on now that is dangerous for my all those food.. I took my step meter with me I set it on the moment i paid for the ticketswalked like mad uphill downhill twicetook my waters with me on my bookbagwith crytsal just in case get the soda pop cravings.. the family had thier food I had a raosted plain corn with pepper mmm that was good.. had half of a gyro with chicken split it with hubby.. that was it then I laughed and palyed games with my boys ... my yongest beat me on the fishing .. he won his first prize ever and gave it to me.. well when I got home had some seafood pasta a nd looked at the step meter I walked a total of 5 and half miles.. 11569 steps wow !! plus tons of fun.....
I have aches and pains on my legs but next time will not strain that much for I aim to be healthier.. ( AUG going to Universal) so that is my goal... This time around and being in my 40's I want the weight to come off slow and steady so that it will stay off.. and you know these first 5 pounds lost is the start....

    Yay YOU!
That's so emoticon !
Both losing th 5lbs. and keeping yourself on track at the county fair.
Sounds like you had lots of fun!
You're pretty strong minded to be able to stay off the scale for a whole month. I've never lasted more than a week. Hopefully one day I can make it a full month.
CONGRADULATIONS and Continued SUCCESS!

Tried a new recipe

Monday, March 25, 2013

Well today as I was looking into a new HEALTHY but tastey recipe I looked thru the Sparkrecipes.. I picked out what my family likes which is Mexican.. thinking that it was going to be bland and tastless.. boy was I wrong I did the salsa chicken in the slow cooker , then when it was done I did tacos out of them .. put lots of veggies and salad and some guacaamole with sour cream but low fat.. put it all on the table like buffet style each served its own.. made some healthy mexican rice now that I did it with doubts.. it turn out just like my grandmother made..now for the real test see if the family likes it.. sure enough they loved even better tasting then the resturant we go to... and now to let you in on a secret I did not tell them it was healthy and do not intend to... let them think mom finally got what it takes to make great home made mexican food.... I told them it was an old recipe from grandmother I found and tried it out... hahahaha

That is what I made for dinner tonight also. LOL! Turned out great. I made some sliced red oven baked potatoes and corn to go along with it. Yummy!

This has become a staple in my house.... my family loves it!! We've made burritos with it or served it with rice and all the condiments like you did. I like to make more so I have it for leftovers the next day to have over a bed of lettuce like a giant taco salad!! Delicious! emoticon

Being honest

Sunday, March 24, 2013

Today's assingment on my Spark Coach was to blog about a past mishap. Well it was not so past it happen yesterday.. I had a very busy day between taking my younger son to his chess classes and taking the other to get his glasses fix.. then to my groceries.. my hubby decidcd to stop at a bakery and get all sort of sweet pasteries.. this is my weakness .. I forgot before I left my house to pack some snacks in my bookbag.. I did take my water.. well I gave it and did not stop at one had four as the matter of fact .. when I got home made some healthy chicken and home made mash potatoes and of course veggies.. well I did not measure my portion .. but had my water.. felt so guilty so overwhelm I did not exercise.. so this morning the sesion made me analyze what I did wrong and correct it ... now in my bookbag I have my dried fruits and protein bars and cold water in the fridge ready for n the go situations.. I will brush off the dirt from my shoulders stand up and move forward .. will learn from my mishap but will not let it overwhelm with guilt.. becuase honestly I know I can do it one day at a time..

We just have to remember to be wise (or strong) all the time, to be able to say no, or only take one. It's all about wanting to please someone. Be sure to put yourself first when that happens. Eventually we/they will learn. emoticon

You are not alone I do not love desserts or sweets or eat them often . But this morning my son made cinamon buns and yeah i had two . did i need them or want them NO stuff happens I will take my cue from you the rest of teh day I will eat healthy and maybe go for a walk. And next time I will wait and let the buns get ccld so they will be less apetising. It would be nice if the people we love would make this easier but we will overcome ggod blog and solutions,

Excellent! Way to turn yourself around.

Sweets are my weakness too. It's rare these days that I crave sweets like I used to but if I see them, GAME ON! I can't stop.

Congratulations!

Yay for spring break. Remember to take time to have some "me" time. When I have some downtime I like to walk an area I don't walk often. Get to know my neighbors a little. I also do batch cooking during that time and freeze it so when I do have crazy weeks, dinner is quick and easy. Enjoy time of making great memories with your boys.

Imagine...

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

I am sort of day dreaming here.. but one of my assingment today is to imagine yourself healthy.. how would I feel .. well now that is a sort of a hard one for me its been so long I have not been healthy that I have forgotten what it is like to feel healthy.. now a day when I do any kind of continuous activity I feel it I huff and puff.. pains on my legs start up.. well now if I were healthy I would be active all the time with out getting tired so easy.. now if I could play a simple game of baseball or basket ball with my boys that really would make me happy.. to be able to help my husband mow the lawn.. would be great he would finish faster.. now on the looking in the mirror now that would be a treat to put any clothes and not worry about nothing bulging out.. now taking those feelings and putting into action by whenever I feel a craving coming on think on those feelings.. to pick myself up and walk a little further.. to stop the pops drinks.. its been 2 weeks without it to pick up a fruit to snack on .. add more veggie on my meals as well as cook more at home... I think that I am on the right path with a little healthy imagination ...

You're definitely on the right track by eating healthy! I tell everyone to take baby steps; otherwise, it can be overwhelming. Congrats for staying away from soft drinks.

Absolutely on the right path!!! Once you set your mind to making changes, it doesn't take long to see results. I am ALWAYS amazed at how far I've come in such a short time . . . no, I'm NOT perfect . . . and never will be . . . but I am feeling SOOOOOO much better. And you will too.

there is truth in the saying: what you imagine you can do, you can do. keep it up. changing your mindset sometimes is the first step.
