I opted to have a rest from cardio yesterday which put me a little behind on a challenge I made so today I knew I absolutely had to do cardio. I would really have preferred to go for a walk outside, but since it is cold and rainy I went to the gym. I was lucky enough that the elliptical machines were not in use like they are so often. Anyway I had scheduled 40 minutes cardio today, but I really knew I needed to increase it because of taking yesterday off so I planned in my head all day to do 60 minutes. As I was in the midst of my "run" on the eliptical I really would have liked to stop at 40 minutes, but I talked myself into not giving up and I even finished the 60 minutes at a fairly high rate of speed. I then even finished the complete additional 5 minute cool down and passed the 5 mile mark for the session. I was really proud that I perserved through the entire 60 minutes and even pushed myself to finish at a high rate rather than slacking off like I would have liked to do! This challenge is really getting me going and I'm hoping I can keep it going!
