Today's weigh-in .... down 1/2 pound.

Talk with consultant. In order to keep those pounds going down, recording bigger numbers need to be more consistant with workouts.

Yes, I workout everyday, 15 min. walk here and there throughout the day, 15-20 min. on Wii Fit, or recumbent bike. Wallies or lunges throughout the week. But she wants more.

Oh my dear. My poor legs are paining most days and it stops me from doing more, but if she wants more it's what I'm going to have to do. I am 1/2 way to my goal and want to reach it before my next birthday in September.

So this week's goal, 2 - 30 min walks - 5 times this week. Spend 30 min. on Wii fit 3 times this week. 30 min. on Recumbent bike 3 times this week. Up my wallies to 100 each day and lunges 50 each day.

When sitting in front of tv will work dumb bells or stretchy bands.

It is all doable goals, and I will do this.

    I sometimes wonder if my legs will quit hurting. I have to exercise a lot too.

My yoga instructor asked me one time if my yoga workouts made me sore. I had to admit, how would I even know, I hurt from so many exercises I do. I think the discomfort is just part of the journey.

    I can relate to the pain - but I have found that the more I do it, the more I enjoy it. You can do it! Especially when you start seeing the inches come off of your body. It's exhilarating.

    Of course you can do it, look how far you have gotten up to now. Sounds like you have the right plan in gear to take care of it too. I do my wallies and lunges when I go to the bathroom. It reminds me that I need to do them and I have to go several times a day anyway so that works for me. I'm up to 50 wallies and 30 lunges. Also deep knee bends or crunches what ever works where I am. I know it is a wierd place to exercise but whatever works. Good luck Star emoticon

A new week.....a new beginning....something must change !

So it's back to the real world once again tomorrow. It's been so nice having some time off to just look after me. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and I've been down in the dumps just thinking about returning to work.

So today I need to change that negative thinking into a more positive one. And anyone that knows me well, knows what an emotional eater I am. I've done a really good job of doing much better, but certain things will trigger me to turning to food and looks like I've allowed these negative thoughts to trigger some bad choices in my daily food.

Today is a new week, it's a new beginning and this is going to change.

You can do this, you are an achiever! I too have times when I hate going to my job, like on Mondays (we have a staffperson that works when he wants to & ususally Monday is when he decides to lay out ---makes it tough on the rest of us).

    You know you sound just like my mom before she retired from work.. She would look at me everyday and say I hate my job , I dread going back in that place and so on and so on ..
And I hear it from my hubby to he says I hate my job and it has even caused him to have high blood pressure..
But I think you are like allot of other people who feel the same way and I feel for you and my hubby and all those others who make sacrifices everyday for their families..

I feel you didn't have a chance to enjoy your time off so that might be some of the problem...other then that you do like your job -I know so you have the right attitude - just go in and have a smile on your face -maybe this will help with your smile everyone will smile or at least you will be happy..lol.

    Hi Barbara, thanks for your comment about my son...I am VERY proud of him. He's come a long long way in his life.
I was reading your blog and smiling to myself. Having done secular employment, with its leave packages and bonus packages and weekends off...and I wonder why I ever gave it up for being a stay-at-home mom. lol. Now its 7days a week, 365days a year, no incentives, very little praise etc lol.
So its good to see you being positive about going back. Here's one more piece of positivity....your job will enable you to buy healthy option foods!
Have a GREAT first day back on the job. Hope everyone at yr place of employment REALLY missed you.

    “You've got to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative.” Remember that Johnny Mercer song?

It's a catchy little tune and it helps me sometimes..but it is difficult for us to do that isn't it?

Love your little cartoon.. kinda tells it like it is... Just try to keep the positive flowing through your day.. one moment at a time if necessary and remember you are not alone. Many of us share the same problem and that is what makes Sparks so awesome.

    Love your cartoon!! And can feel your dread. If I did not love my job, I would dread it every day, because it is the only thing that challenges my eating habits. If it wasn't for having business luncheons and birthday celebrations and pot lucks and what nots, I would be a lot lighter today...

But it is, as we all seem to realize, something we have to do, like it not. No need to mull over it :)

PRE-CHALLENGE WEEK, FOR WEEK ENDING SEPT 3rd

*Failure to Plan is Planning to Fail! Each member should make and post a plan of action for this season. What are their goals and how are they going to achieve them?

I decided to post my plan of action in a Blog !

Our Summer Challenge has ended and I did not meet my expectations. However that does not mean I am feeling let down, sorry for myself, ready to throw in the towel, call it quits. No sir, it just means I will continue to follow my program and trust in it and I can reach my new goals that I will set for the Fall Challenge.

I aim to lose 10 to 15 pounds for Fall Challenge. I will reach my goals by doing the following:

- drink my 10 cups of water daily
- follow my meal plan set up by my Simply for Life Consultant
- workout daily 30 to 60 minutes, I will allow myself one day of rest
- keep my journal on a daily basis

Did I follow these plans during my summer Challenge?

Yes to the water, yes to my workouts.

I slipped up on keeping my journal on a daily basis as I was always playing catch up with it. It has to be done on a daily basis so I don't forget what I am supposed to eat for my meals. I will do a much better job this time.

Now, my meal plan. I have always allowed myself a treat for Saturday, at first it was one meal, then it became 2 meals, then added snacks on Saturdays. I even had a week when it was every day something extra on my program that wasn't allowed. My program is very strick with starches and being a big starch lover it's what I'll turn to for comfort/hunger/celebration. I did not do any binge eating which I used to do, but it was extra slice of bread in the evening or a muffin to go with my coffee at drive through.

So I will be really careful with my food program and I know I can reach all my goals I've set up for my fall challenge.

    Sounds like a good plan to me Barb! I'm doing very similar stuff...but (even though I am helping out the competition) I "think" for your team to get the point- you have to post this stuff over in the team blogs.
