"Even if I don't reach all my goals, I've gone higher than I would have if I hadn't set any." -- Danielle Fotopoulis

My goals for April

1. to focus on walking now that the weather is going better.
2. to continue to go to pool 2 x per week
3. to work on my healthy eating
4. to aim for 10 - 12 glasses water daily
5. to work in 30 min daily just for me

" As you slide down the banisters of life may the splinters never point the wrong way. " Irish Saying

Another busy day at the office.

Update on my mom for those who have been asking - she returned to the nursing home on the weekend, but was moved to a different floor where she requires a lot more care. She is very confused most days, is not eating and her mobility is gone. We know her heart is failing and they can't operate on her (we've known about this for a number of years) and her kidneys aren't good. It is so sad to see that her quality of life has deteriorated to this.

Thankfully my sister and brother are there to visit with her and to keep me informed of how she is doing.

I thank all for their kind thoughts and prayers.

There's only one thing that can guarantee our failure, and that's if we quit.

" A blessed thing it is for any man or woman to have a friend, one human soul whom we can trust utterly, who knows the best and worst of us, and who loves us in spite of all our faults. "

It's been a very busy day. First thing this morning Shannon and I had dentist appointments, then he had a doctor's appointment. We then had to go to another town where I weighed in early, with a one pound gain. She wants me to set a goal, something for me to aim for so will think of something short term and doable.

After my appointment with her I went to the pool and enjoyed a swim and sauna. Hot tub isn't working again and I could have really used it today as my shoulder and hip is bothering me.

Tonight we have to go to funeral home, Shannon's mother's cousin passed away and we will be there for family visitation then funeral tomorrow afternoon.

Have a wonderful day my Spark Pals.

So sorry about another funeral you have to attend...

While you had a busy day, it sounds like it was really productive and don't sweat the 1 lb. gain... you will lose it by next week.

Barbara, sorry to hear of the death in your family and the one pound gain. I'm sure you will be able to get that pound off at your next weigh in. Glad you're able to enjoy your pool and sauna time. That should really help with your weight loss. Take care!

Hugs,

Lainie

" No one, Eleanor Roosevelt said, can make you feel inferior without your consent. Never give it. "

Something I have had to learn in my life. I have always tried to hide myself from living life to it's fullest due to my weight. I shied away from people and crowds, so avoid hurtful things being said. Of course I felt shame for being overweight, and this would trigger me to eat in private. It became my life.

I have stepped up to the plate, realized what I was doing and have started to move in a forward direction. Instead of causing myself more harm than good, I now work on improving myself and living a healthy life.

GREAT blog Barb...I like this statement in your blog, "Instead of causing myself more harm than good, I now work on improving myself and living a healthy life." We DO cause more harm when we shy away and hide, living life in the background.
Hugs,
Shan
