Day 1 - Water

new challenge for myself, start a streak, and I've decided to post a blog every day.

Today's blog is just a reminder to me and all my Spark Pals to drink your water. I love water, so it's not a problem for me, I aim to get 10 full glasses in daily and never have a problem.

How are you doing with your daily water? If you aren't drinking please do. It's so healthy for your body and good for weight loss.

  10 glasses of water a day is one of the challenges for one of my teams
so far i did it everyday but one
two with every meal and at least two at work
so two more is easy to get in emoticon

    That is a great quote and I probably need to check out the book. I do real well 90% of the time till I am exhausted, frustrated, and then have a tendency to eat the wrong things.

been a while since I wrote a blog. I like to do this at least once a week, just to update how I'm doing with my weight loss, or life in general.

Last week was quite a struggle due to fluid retention and the scale showed it on Saturday when I weighed in. I've had water gain in the past, but this time my legs, ankles, feet and toes swelled and I had to elevate them, even with pillows under them while I slept. I couldn't get in to see my doctor last week so he could see them this bad, but I did manage to see him this afternoon.

Of course they weren't that bad today. I did have a nice visit with him, all health issues we discussed are related to my weight. Did I mention I've had a weight problem since I was 5 years old, so you can see that my weight has always been the focus of my life *sigh*

What happened to the lady that was doing so well, every week the weight was coming off, I went over 6 months without a gain the other year, but I just can't seem to get on a roll now.

Today doctor discussed - spidery veins in my legs and feet. Of course fluid due to weight. Blood work all good, except now he's saying my thyroid is going to be watched as it is starting to go underactive. When I first had my blood work done the other week the office called to let me know my iron was low so back to iron supplements for 2 months.

No wonder I'm feeling so worn out and tired, carrying around this weight, and if thryoid is going to start activing up it is a sign. It will also mean I must work even harder to get any weight off.

I want to get back to that happy girl I was last summer.

    i agree with ginger i am seeming to be more irretable when i cant find time or easy to be unhappy with life i guess. not saying this is u but thats just me.. i have lot of people and animals in my house 4 of us. my mom depends on me alot for everything. my brother had a thyroid problem and he had to take a medicine to kill it or to decrease teh size of it.. hope everything is well though. keep up the good work.. u go lime grl

    I find that exercise really makes the difference in my level of energy and my attitude. I am much more calm and able to take things in stride (and less bloated) when I get at least 20 minutes in. I found three kinds of exercise that I enjoy -- riding my tricycle, roller skating, and watching TV while I work out on my Cybex Arc Trainer. It was expensive and difficult to incorporate these three kinds of exercise. But I'm happy I did.

    Barb wish I could help you... we are struggling to get back aren't we..
I've been thinking we need to put our thoughts back to last year when all clicked together and we were doing it!!! What was different then from right now?
Our attitude.... our feelings of happiness... I think these things all make a play in our daily life and how we approach our journey..to our healthy lifestyle.. Think we need to get back to being that happy healthy go getting gals we were last year then all the stones will be in alignment and we will start having success again...

What do you think? just a thought or two

    If your thyroid is underactive you will take meds that will help you out. Just try to rest when you need it, and do what you can otherwise.

    Hello, my emoticon. I guess the best thing you can do is just DO IT! There aren't too many ways aournd eating healthy. emoticon. Take your time, get back on track, yo know what to do.

I have had the very same struggles but this time, being a spark member, it's different, I kn ow I can do it. I might take longer than expected, but I'm going to get to a HEALTHY weight. No particular # in site yet, j ust a guestimate.

Lime challenge - past, present and future

*** A year ago I just started to let stress effect me and my program. I was 30 pounds lighter than I am today. However the past couple of weeks I have gotten myself back on track making me first priority once again. It's interesting how someone will say something and all of a sudden it cliks. A Sparks Pal said "It's hard to lose weight, It's hard to be overweight. Pick your hard" it's what I needed for my wake up call. I liked the benefits of 65 lbs gone which is what I reached last summer, so I am going to work hard at losing weight. This time next year I want to be in onederland !

the pictures tell my story. this is where I was a year ago.



This was my reward for losing 50 lbs, I really want to be able to add more stars to show my journey
