been a while since I wrote a blog. I like to do this at least once a week, just to update how I'm doing with my weight loss, or life in general.
Last week was quite a struggle due to fluid retention and the scale showed it on Saturday when I weighed in. I've had water gain in the past, but this time my legs, ankles, feet and toes swelled and I had to elevate them, even with pillows under them while I slept. I couldn't get in to see my doctor last week so he could see them this bad, but I did manage to see him this afternoon.
Of course they weren't that bad today. I did have a nice visit with him, all health issues we discussed are related to my weight. Did I mention I've had a weight problem since I was 5 years old, so you can see that my weight has always been the focus of my life *sigh*
What happened to the lady that was doing so well, every week the weight was coming off, I went over 6 months without a gain the other year, but I just can't seem to get on a roll now.
Today doctor discussed - spidery veins in my legs and feet. Of course fluid due to weight. Blood work all good, except now he's saying my thyroid is going to be watched as it is starting to go underactive. When I first had my blood work done the other week the office called to let me know my iron was low so back to iron supplements for 2 months.
No wonder I'm feeling so worn out and tired, carrying around this weight, and if thryoid is going to start activing up it is a sign. It will also mean I must work even harder to get any weight off.
I want to get back to that happy girl I was last summer.
