I asked for help and you all came running !

Today is a much better day, and I am working at getting back on track.

I need to focus on me and my journey. I have taken alot of time trying to help many others work their program and become healthier people. Through this I got side tracked with my own program.

Starting today it is going to be all about me again. I need to focus on me and getting healthy and fit. I will be turning 56 this year and it's now or never.

Oh I'll still be available for anyone asking for help and support, however I just won't be sparking as much as I did. I need to spend the time working on me.

love yas !

Yeah!!! Sometimes we just need to sleep on it and we wake up with a clearer vision and that sounds like what you've done. I think that making yourself top priority is essential. We (women) spend so much time taking care of everyone else, we forget that we need to take care of ourselves too. I think I may need to follow your lead and bump myself up the ladder a bit. I'm proud of you Barb, anytime you need a shoulder, just shout!

I think that at some time we all need to back away from being on this site for so many hours a day and start living our lives. Thats why we are getting healthy. I know when I first started I could honestly say I was in here for over 6 hours maybe even 7. I was learning everything I could and making many wonderful friends. Now that the weather is getting nice I feel the need get out side and show this new body off... Best of luck with your journey I know you will be a great success.

Help ! ! !

Saturday, May 15, 2010

After having such a great week, even though I was quite sick, this week really sucked.

I need to refocus on what is important to me. I need to focus on striving to become healthy and more fit and getting the scale to move downward. I want to remove the extra pounds I've added on this past year.

I do not like to see this, yes I am struggling, and I need help to stay focused.

I know that I am worth it, I know that I can do it, so help me get going.

Barbara --You are one incredible lady, so I know emoticon. Just one foot in front of the other makes a tremendous difference. Every step you take & every glass of water is putting you that much more on track. Don't think you are alone --your story seems to mirror mine. I've been of track lately --seems every time I try to take one step forward I end up take 2 steps back. But perserverance is the key --I will not quit & neither will you my friend!

Well Barbara, you've been to my blog today so you know that I am kind of in the same boat. It just doesn't get any easier does it? When I first started losing weight, I was absolutely ecstatic, the pounds were just flying off and I could not believe it. I guess I thought the weight would keep falling off so long as I did the work but then after the first year, BOOM, the progress started slowing down and down and down. I guess I just didn't expect that it was going to be this difficult. Just know that you are not alone, we might have a mighty steep mountain to climb but at least we know we've got another Lime walking beside us. Stay in the fight, if you will, I will. emoticon

Barbara-I don't think one of us hasn't been where you are. It is not easy to keep going all the time doing everything as we should. This is a lifestyle change, not a diet, not an overnight change, but something we all need to do for the rest of our lives to get and stay fit and healthy.

I had 3 months this year that I didn't lose anything, but spent it losing and gaining the same few pounds, never getting past where I was at the end of last year and then gaining 12 pounds back. It wasn't until I tried on some spring and summer clothes that I was so proud I fit in last year (I went from an 18 or 20 to a 10 or 12) and I couldn't button them that I realized I needed to get right back on track and get back to making a new me. That's not happening overnight, but I have lost 10 of those pesky pounds I had gained and feel well on my way to continued success.

emoticon too. Just remember baby steps. We didn't get this way overnight and we won't change overnight. Make small changes and as you feel comfortable, add something else. In time all those baby steps will add up to giant leaps!

It's so good to ask for help. It means we realize we need it and that's when big changes can happen. You have the best support anywhere here, use it to it's full advantage and lean on us whenever you need to! We're all in this together.

Since I don't know whether you want understanding and a gentle push or tough love and a kick in the pants. So here goes.

It looks like you already have positive input, and a ton of support, so I guess I get the kick in the pants part.

emoticonSo you had one bad week. Are you going to let that influence the rest of this journey? I don't think so. So come on, get off your duff and let's get moving, and eating right, again. You know the old saying:"if you fall off the horse, get right back on". Well, it's time to get back on. Get your next week food plan together, get your rear in gear with the exercise, and you'll be back on track before you know it. This feeling of struggling to stay focused will be just a memory. Keep your eye on the prize, and you will get there. YOU CAN DO IT ! ! emoticon

Uuuuhhhhmmmm, if you need anything just look me up. I'm on here everyday off and on all day. NOW MOVE IT ! ! emoticon---Sherry emoticon

I think we are in the same place. The difference is that I don't feel that I'm worth it. In fact, I feel pretty much nothing in regards to myself. I could look like this forever and it wouldn't bother me. I have been prepared to die for many years now so I am just marking time. Tr5y to focus with that attitude. A million people can tell you how great you are and how much they need you but if you don't feel it; you just don't. I hope you get your mind in a better place than mine is.

I think we all struggle to get past a particularly hard time in our lifestyle change, but we must all keep in mind that these times are not a road block, but merely a pebble in the road. Keep telling yourself positive things. Find at least one positive aspect to tell yourself every day. Keep telling yourself that you are strong and you can do it. We all have the ability, and you must keep that in mind. I believe in you, and I don't even know you, so you must have faith in yourself as well. We are all in this together, whether 5 miles apart or 5000. You can do it!

We were asked to do a blog on how we are going to succeed on our summertime challenge. I plan to use the same strategy that I set up for the month of May.

1. Show a loss at the end of the challenge
2. Drink 8 - 10 glasses of water daily
3. 30 minute walk every day
4. Eat on program
5. Work on strength training

Back on track after 2 week vacation

Sunday, May 02, 2010

Time to get serious after being on a 2 week vacation.

April 16th arrived in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, with my best friend Kathy, my sister-in-law Robin and my 2 Spark Pals, Mary and Jo, and their cousin Donnie.

I must say that we all had a wonderful time, considering everyone didn't know everyone, but it didn't take long for us to become acquainted. I had been to the resort before, and it was still a great spot to vacation. For me, my vacation consists of someone else getting my meals, cleaning my room, just getting away from the stress of work, home, family and just every day living. I walk around the resort, I swim and relax by the pool, drink lots of water, and yes I ate plenty, did eat a huge variety of fruits and veggies, but the sweets were still a temptation I couldn't resist.

Arrived in Toronto early morning of April 24th, where my friend and sil flew back to Nova Scotia and I stayed with my sister for a few days. First day was a 75th birthday party for my aunt. The next day was a trip to see the show "Jersey Boys" it was awesome, and I recommend it to anyone who has it playing in their city. It's the story about Franki Valli and the Four Seasons, had alot of humour in the storyline and great music from 60's and 70'.

Arrived home in Nova Scotia April 29th, wasn't here 15 minutes and started to get a sore throat, so have been fighting a cold ever since. Went yest. for my weigh-in and was up 3.5 lbs, which I will contribute mostly to my time in Toronto, where I did eat alot of takeout emoticon

Today is Sunday May 2nd and am starting back on my program.

My goals for May are:

1. to have a loss at the end of the month.
2. to drink 8 - 10 glasses water daily
3. 30 minute walk daily
4. to follow my program
5. to work on strength exercises

Lime challenge Mar.25-31/10

Thursday, April 01, 2010

I decided to go for a walk along "the Trail". It is a 20 min. drive from home, however it is a really nice trail that follows the coast line. I can't walk the whole trail, but do half of it in under 30 minutes.

I did this yest morning before work, so was on the road by 7am. It was still chilly but once I got going I really don't mind. It wasn't very busy on the trail as I only met 2 other walkers. Now if I was to walk in the evening there would be alot more especially as the weather gets warmer.

I really expected to see it start to rain, however it cleared up and was a nice walk.

There are always ducks to view along the shore, and everywhere you can see signs of spring.

Need to get my tail out of bed on a more regular basis as I love to do this trail, just been extra lazy.

So thanks for the challenge, it did get me out on a nice walk.
