When I run into this problem I usually not only have to reboot, I have to upgrade to the MOTIVATION 2.0 program. Sometimes it seems like a lot of trouble but you're worth it, and you can DO it!

Sometimes, we all need a cold boot ! LOL !!!

As the old song goes,"accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative". Give yourself credit for all the positive things you do for yourself today and don't beat yourself up because you're not perfect. You don't have to be perfect to be heatlhy.

Okay - I will push the RESTART button! Sometimes we have days like that - you are not alone and I'm trying to push RESTART too. As long as we don't let it go on for long - we should be okay. Perhaps it is our mind's way of saying "I need a break."

Happy Mother's Day

Sunday, May 12, 2013

Taking a moment to just be happy that I have an amazing family that includes two great kids. Wore my mother's day corsage to the funeral today because it was just too nice to not get more wear out of it. I am grateful for the sunshine and the beautiful day. I may be inside all day working, but it's there and I can see birds from my window. Looking on the Brightside of some serious overtime hours this weekend emoticon

Loved This!

Friday, May 10, 2013

Working through my mental issues this morning by reading through Spark articles and blogs. Check out "Do You Know What Real Women's Bodies Look Like?", Spark Daily Blog. There is a link to the Belly Project, which is awesome.

My belly is perfectly normal with its stretch marks and all! Feeling much better about myself this morning knowing that I am not alone and my body is pretty much like every other woman who has birthed a baby or two emoticon

Now that I am assured that I am not abnormal . . . . I can begin the real work of planning my meals for the week emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sometimes what we need MOST is perspective, so we can let go of our unrealistic expectations!

Sugar, No Sugar?

Thursday, May 09, 2013

It seems like everyone around me is on a "no sugar, nothing white" diet trend. It is very atkins like, but no one is calling it Atkins. What appeals to me about this is the immediate results. Two people I have known for years have had amazing success since January - 70 lbs. of success.

I have never really stopped to think about how much sugar is in unprocessed foods. Do you? I love fresh fruits and I can't see myself living without the delights of summer produce.

I would however do something like this for a limited time - say six weeks as a kickstart program. What do you guys think? Have you ever done the no sugar, nothing white thing?

Well, I'm a vegetarian so mostly I eat fruits and veggies....beans, tofu, tempeh, etc. I never use sugar.

I'm doing it now and it's brilliant. It's the only way I've found that I can lose weight and not feel like I'm half starving myself of fighting cravings all the time. I think you should give it a try.

I have very few vices left, but the one I will never give up is sweets (esp. chocolate). I do, however, limit them and am trying very hard to learn moderation. Sometimes I can resist, sometimes I can't. I have learned to really enjoy fresh and frozen fruits. I know that different things work for different people. As long as you went into it knowing it was a "jump start" type thing for a limited time, it might work. As for me, I'd be afraid that trying to go without any sugars at all would only end up leading to binging on them, and that's something I'm trying to avoid!

I'm not expert, but I have been reading a lot in this area. Keep the fruits. If you stay within your calorie goals there is no harm. Protein rich diets work not because carbs are the enemy, but because high protein foods are usually more satisfying and help you control caloric intake.

Natural sugars are ALWAYS better than refined products.

I am doing it right now, and I am in my 7th week with doing without sugar, processed or any refined foods. They say some fruits have too much sugar, well I look at it this way, it's natural untouched by man made additives, how can it be wrong no matter how much sugar is in it. So I eat it anyway, and just add it to my calories for the day.
I have had no cravings to the day. I have 56 lbs to lose, and also to kick diabetes to the curb.

Small Rant

Monday, May 06, 2013

I absolutely hate coming into the office, after my weekend off, to trash and dirty bathrooms. Really, I am the only one with a college degree that can empty trash and use a Lysol wipe???

Gosh - with kids - that is my home, sometimes. My bathroom is off limits.

I absolutely know what you mean - it is like they think it is someone else's job - and if you're willing to do it - why not?

Hope your day gets better - sending Happy Monday wishes your way.
