Hump Day!

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

After giving myself three hours to wake up and having breakfast, I can finally get on with my day. Today, my plan is to get moving. I'll be happy to walk for 20 minutes. My knee gets all stiff when I sit for too long and it hurts. My last major walk was this Sunday when my husband and I went to Philadelphia. I want to lose at least two-three pounds by May 30th. Yesterday, I changed my weight goal because in the beginning, I had it way too far off that it was not realistic. I noticed that I am losing 5 pounds a month, which I can accept. I am good with that. So, that is my goal. What's yours? emoticon emoticon

5 pounds a month is a very realistic goal. You want to lose it FOREVER and slow and steady is the way to win that race!

Hope your knee is continuing to heal up!

That is great. 5 pounds a month is always encouraging. My goal is 2 pounds a week. So far I have been able to average those 2oz.
Your poste has been encouraging to me and hope it will continues until you reach your goal weight.

Ugh, teenagers!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Sometimes I just want throw my hands up and say I give up! I have three teenagers, two boys and one girl and the other girls are on their way to being one. The oldest is the one I am having my angst with. He is always been strong willed, says what is on his mind and I guess it is partly my fault for him being that way. I always taught my kids to stand their ground and don't let anyone make you their welcome mat. I learned my lesson when I was such a people pleaser and it bit me back. At what age will this 18 yo going stop this back and forth bickering? I hear that I might have another 2 years of this. Eeek! emoticon

What a Sunday!

Monday, May 17, 2010

It started with waking up and an making waffles for my kids, and no I didn't eat any of it. I had my regular Special K. After one hour, I woke my husband so we can get going on our day trip to Philly. I was so ready for some serious walking. I had my walking shoes, the most comfortable blouse and capri pants. By 11:30, we were on our way. We ended up a half hour later stopping at a Wawa to grab a drink and lunch. Then, we had to return the rental car that my husband used for his army duty at the Philly airport. Took a shuttle bus to get to the other car he left at a parking lot and then the worsts thing for my husband happened, his XM radio wasn't working. He ended up being on the phone for an hour to talk to a representative who obviously didn't know what she was doing. She even hung up on us! Let me tell you he was very upset. He had to call back only to be suggested to go to a car dealer. It is Sunday, there were non open. Another half our passed and somehow by some miracle, the XM came back on. That was the only glitch. What really upset him was that after three months of getting it fro free, he subscribed for the whole year for $130 to get a blank screen with no audio. We ended up having one more thing to do and that is to replace his MP3 player that he left in his pocket and went through the washer and dryer. Men, I don't know why they can't empty out their pockets. I've had many times when I find pens, coins and credit cards being washed. This time I was not doing that load. Finally, we were on our way to downtown Philly. My mission was to find something for my dress. After three hours of walking from one store to another, I found a beautiful brooch. I just hope it's not too heavy. We were so tired from all the walking, but it felt good! emoticon emoticon

Why I changed my progress chart

Saturday, May 15, 2010

If anyone has gone to my page and noticed a change on my progress chart is because a light bulb on top of my head lit up. I said to myself, "Self, you just lost 20lbs, why is it that you have it like you didn't lose it?" Most of my sparkfriends know that I started my life change this past January and didn't join Sparkpeople until last weekend of March. So, when I entered it, I had already lost 15-16lbs. I just decided to be true to myself and put in my real starting weight from January. It looks better anyway to me that I can see how much I have really lost. emoticon emoticon

The best part of it is today when I went to Fashion Bug and looked at a blouse I would have fitted in four months ago. I had to ask my daughter if I really had fit into a size 2xl. I can't believe how big it was. I now fit in an xl and sometimes a large, depending on how the clothes are made.

Today was an emotional roller coaster

Friday, May 14, 2010

This morning I had a day that was a lot of downs. I was on my facebook and I have been communicating with my son's girlfriend and let's say it was not pleasant. It was back and forth with her. I tried to get off the computer so I didn't have to see her reply back to me. For two hours, I hated it! Around 12:30, my daughter tells me that she heard the announcement that soon they will be announcing the new members for the National Junior Honor Society. I was in pins and needles until an hour later. My daughter calls me and in the most exciting voice says she made it in. I am so proud of her! She works hard and is so hard on herself with everything she does. She deserves it so much. She said that they all went to the girls restroom and started calling their parents. I was starting to tear up, I needed that, some good news, something positive. I was looking forward to taking her out for some ice cream. When she got off the bus, I practically kidnapped her from the sidewalk. Watching her eat her ice cream was so enjoyable. I did have some ice cream, but gave majority of it to her. I couldn't finish it. On another positive note, I paid off my wedding dress and the store owner was surprised. She thought I would drop off a few dollars at a time. I figured I had the money, I might as well get it over and done with. She is so nice, I was about to pay $45 in cash and pay the last $5 on my debit card. She said never mind, just pay with what you have. She will definitely get more people that I can recommend. Mom and Pop stores are the best! I like to give the locals business. If you are in Jersey, especially close to Manahawkin, go to Island Bridals at Rt.9, before 72. I kept mine there, because I don't want my husband to see it and plus I've got some appliques to add on to it for the seamstress to work on. To all my Sparkfriends, have a wonderful weekend!

I really hope that you can get over your problems. It's exciting to hear that your daughter is doing so well! Goes to show what a good job you are doing with her! And congrats on paying off your dress. Can't wait to see pictures of it on you!
