I did it!

Thursday, September 23, 2010

I am at a total loss of 35lbs as of today! So happy. I took everyone's suggestion of adding another day of exercise and also re-evaluate what I am eating. I went back to eating my Special K and two hard boiled eggs. Thank you to my Sparkfriends who replied to my last blog. It was a big help for me! emoticon to you all!

Darn those 2.8 pounds just won't leave!

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

I have been at 192.8 pounds for a month now and it is driving me nuts! Why won't it leave me? I only have another 2 weeks to be at 190 or less. I have my dress to be done at 9-27 and picked up by10-4. I have been running more and walking only when I can't run anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions to take off these 2 last pounds? emoticon

I'd suggest upping the activity level to burn more calories, and cutting out the weekly rice for a week at the same time to maybe confuse your body a little into moving the scale. I love pasta, rice, noodles....but when I know I've overdone on them, I will stick to fish/chicken/meat and veggies/fruit for several days to get back on track. I will also do an extra workout to help the process.

Either that or I will do a Shake Cleanse or liquid fast.

I am stuck as well and have found the following problem areas.
Too much salt
"Bad" carbs instead of good
Sampling when I cook
Exercising a lot on the weekend but slacking off during the week
Staying within my calorie range but not with "good" food
Giving in to the chocolate monster "It's only one little piece"

Hang in there and if you don't lose those two pounds don't let it ruin your day. You will still be beautiful and remember how much you have already lost.

    Two things that helped me:

Be sure to get enough rest. I find the weight likes to hang on when I'm tired - and I also tend to overeat, of course.

Also, start tracking your fiber and make sure you're getting enough. If you're low, add some fiber a little bit at a time. It really helped me get over a plateau to increase fiber. I hadn't realized I was low, even though I was eating pretty healthy.

Thanks for the suggestions. There is almost no salt in any of my foods. Vegies, no salt, my grilled chicken, no salt, baked potato, no salt. Eating sweets, the only time I ate any sweets was my birthday. Carbs, that could be it. I have been eating rice at least once a week. Maybe I am stressing out a bit. I know I have also haven't reached my water intake every day. Biking, I haven't been on one since I was 18. I know, once you've been on a bike, you never forget. I just don't want to take any chances of breaking any bones so close to the day.

Try changing it up. Ride a bike or do calisthenics. Sometimes change makes the difference. Good Luck!!

Maybe you're stressing yourself out too much cause it's closer to your goal??? Take deep breaths, change up your workout routines, change up your foods. Sometimes our bodies just need a break from trying so hard. Stay away from all the bad fats, sweets, too many carbs and maybe that'll help. Go back and look at the tracking on those days and weeks where you were doing very well and repeat those foods. You've come a long way and have done so well. Hang in there and try to relax more. emoticon

Have you increased your food on SP? If you increased your fitness and not your food, your body might have gone into starvation mode. Yup, that is right... we need food to lose weight! It is a careful balance! emoticon

Maybe just stick to veggies and fish. and like AJO085 said, really cut back on the salt.
Cabbage and asparagus are natural diuretics.

    1. don't give up. 2. maybe switch up your workout routine a little? 3. try and limit your salt intake.

switching things (food, workout) could put a little spark in your weight loss. Hopefully you figure it out! great job so far!

A walk with a friend and a belated birthday lunch to boot

Monday, September 20, 2010

Today I had a friend to walk with me and it is so nice to have someone to chat with during my three mile walk. She is amazed how fast it was to get to the end and back. She didn't even notice that we passed a farm that is usually stinky. She has been wanting to take me out for my birthday lunch and she said let's do lunch today. How can I pass that invitation? So, after taking a shower and getting all spiffy, we ended up at Charlie Brown's. I haven't been there in at least two years since my husband was not too keen with it. When I arrived at the restaurant, I first checked out the salad bar. It was very impressive. It was in a circular table and it had everything you can possibly put on a salad. What I liked about this salad bar spread was that it had Ranch light. Most salad bars only have regular ranch. What is the point if you don't have light salad dressings? It was delicious! I even had some coconut shrimps because it was a combo deal. It has been four hours since then, and I am not having any feeling of hunger. She said that we should do this every Monday. No objection there. emoticon

What a day and night!

Friday, September 17, 2010

Yesterday, my plans consist of doing my walk/run, going to the game and watching it and also my girl cheering and later on, do some more shopping for our upcoming trip to Vegas. My husband needed to find a suit and pants set for him. While we were on our way with our daughters southbound on the parkway, we got hit hard with the storm that my husband thought had already gone to see. We were totally deep in it. We couldn't stop and we just had to keep on going. Lightning was so close, that the back of my hair was standing up. It was very close. Anyways, after 30 minutes in that, hubby drops us off to Foreman Mills so we can get what I need and also the girls. He goes to Burlington Coat Factory to hopefully find what he needed. I needed a new denim skirt and shorts, the other ones I have is way too big that I can probably fit at least a child in it. I also got a new silver flats, new babyphat purse($12.49) which was a steal. Some shirts for me and hoodies($3) for the the girls. After almost an hour there, I came out with $100 and some change. I probably saved at least $90 or so. If anyone knows what Foreman Mills is, you know that everything there is so affordable. I should go there more often. I'll do a second blog later with pictures.

Funny, you don't look your age

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Yup, that's what I heard yesterday at the bridal store while I was having my dress pinned. There were two other customers looking for a MOB (mother of the bride) dress and her daughter is getting married two weeks after my renewal. So the moment came when they had heard when we are renewing our 20th anniversary. They thought I was just getting married for the first time. They then asked me how old I am and I told them I am 43 and their jaws dropped and the mom said, "Funny. you don't look 43." It felt good to hear that. So tomorrow, I will be having an exercise buddy. She works full time and she is a divorced mom and so we don't get to see or chat much. This will be fun! Oh, my husband and I will be finally looking for his suit and pants to wear for our renewal.
