Blog take 2

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Well, I went to my friend's house and swam for 90 minutes so I burned almost 900 calories. Not bad at all. I think I might want to do it again Thursday. It was so relaxing and yet it was also hard work on my legs. Tomorrow is the day for my first fitting. I am excited and also nervous. I asked my friend to be there with me for support along with my daughters. Pictures will follow later tomorrow.

Wow 900. Good for you. I would love to swim too but I'm not very good at it. Hope your fitting goes well.

ugh! This heat is killing me!

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Yesterday, I planned to walk for at least three miles with my daughter. The humidity was 90% unbearable and 10% comfortable when we get some shade. My daughter usually enjoys walking, but even that day, she was not being the trainer that she usually is if the weather was more pleasant. The best thing about that was we both knew that there was cold fruits waiting in the van and a drink. We did 3.12 miles and once we got it the van, I cranked up the air and ravaged the fruits. She had already said that there was no way she was going out today and she meant it. I am invited to swim at my friends pool, I don't know if I can go. I am feeling the aftereffects of the heat from yesterday. Today is even hotter. Maybe I will go swimming. emoticon

Yes, the heat is hot at times also. In Canada. This summer more so.
I stay in or swim. If you do go swimming, I find the best thing when swimming is get your hair all wet by going under and swim with wet hair. It keeps me cooler.

In humid weather the hats make me hotter. So I swim for hours like I mentioned.

Then go in and take a cool shower, call it a exercising for the day.

If you do not have A.C in house. Then try for the basement to exercise. Then like the other gal said. Early to the mall and walk is the best. I used to do that. Some hospitals will let you walk near the therapy section. Ours does.

If is hot and humid. One cannot do much but drink water to cool down. Your daughter is right. Walking is hard .

If it rains it pours . I say. Be wise, not silly on these days.

The heat sucks the life right out of ya! It makes it almost impossible to enjoy a workout. I can hardly wait for FALL.

Kudos for going as far as you did!!!

Gotta get going! Five days till my first fitting!

Friday, August 06, 2010

Ok, I didn't meet my August 6th goal so now I am really going to hit the pavement or trail, whatever it takes. I also have a new video that I had purchased almost three weeks ago and I'm going to try it. My knee feels better now and so there is no reason not to get moving. emoticon emoticon I'm getting nervous! emoticon

What a beautiful day it was today!

Tuesday, August 03, 2010

This morning was so nice. First thing I did was to drop my daughter to her cheer practice. From there, I went straight to our trail. I first walked and then I ran until I started feeling lightheaded. That is usually my clue to stop and walk again. I at least walked and then ran again, but for the next two miles, I walked. The trail is l0ng and it stretches to the next town. This was the first time I kept on going. I figured that my daughter will not be done till 10 so being at that time it was 8. I walked for almost 5 miles. emoticon When I started coming back, I felt a sense of accomplishment. Not once did I take a break, I just kept on moving. When I finally got to my van, I stretched and then started the ac. I was sweating so much that I changed into a clean blouse. I had my Special K bar and drank my diet green tea so fast. After putting some makeup, I had enough time to wait for my daughter to get out from her practice. Did a little food shopping and picked up my bathing suit I ordered from Fashion Bug. Not going to wear it till Vegas. emoticon I'm hoping to walk again tomorrow, but with the rain coming, I am hoping to at least sneak one for two miles.

Next week is my first dress fitting, August 11th

Monday, August 02, 2010

I know it has been creeping up, but this is now just days away! For the past four days, I've done nothing but walking. Tomorrow and the next two days after, I am going to run the trail after I drop my daughter to her cheer practice. That is two hours of a combination of power walk and running. emoticon emoticon
Time to kick it up a notch!
