Hump Day

I really hate Wednesdays, I never have the same energy that I do on Monday and Friday I get to look forward to two days off and a week of good workouts having been accomplished. But, I got up a little earlier today and shortened my workout a bit because I had a 9:45 dentist appt. that I'd forgotten about. It was ok because I did 20 minutes on the tredmill and ran the whole thing and than I was still sore in my hamstrings/glutes, chest and triceps from my Monday lifting and I took it easy on those body parts. I still got a good workout even though I did it in 1 hour 30 minutes(about half my normal time). I'm feeling pretty good about things these days and looking forward to March when we go to Florida. So here's to the warmth in Florida vs our coldest days all year coming tomorrow and Friday...

Well I just got back from shopping and I actually tried things on before buying. Just for fun I tried on a size 8 thinking it would motivate me to really buckle down this week. Well, guess what? They fit, I ended up buying 2 pair because I was so excited! I also took my measurements, the first since 1/1/07 and found I'd lost inches from everywhere. So, that really makes me feel better since my weight loss hasn't been near what it was previously but it seems I've been toning up and losing inches so that makes it worthwhile!

It's very cold out today and I'm waiting until 10 to go for a run. I wanted to get on that scale again this morning, but fought the urge. I think I'm going to try to add a second cardio session around 3 in the afternoon. That's atime when I get very hungry so it would help in two ways. One to get through that time without eating and two to bump up the cardio. I'll just go for a walk and see how that goes. I've realized that since it's so cold out now I really don't move around as much as in the warmer weather, so I'm going to try this new approach for a few days.

Well, today I weighed in at 174.8 that's only a .4 loss, but, it's a loss none-the-less. I wasn't surprised but disappoined anyway, because there were 2 nights out to eat and a day at the simulcast racing where I sat a lot(although I did take a 20 minute walk around the casino floor). So, here's to a better week where I track better and bump up the cardio a notch.

One of those days

Today was one of those days where I didn't want to get out of bed. It was nasty in good old New Jersey this morning with some snow and ice from yesterday's precip and I really just wanted to roll over and pull the covers over my head. Of course, the fact that my daughter called from Boston University last night and woke me up at 11:45 to talk, really didn't help with my sleep last night, but I overcame. After hitting the snooze 3 times and being a little later than usual, oh, and forgetting my iPod and having to turn back and go get it, I got to the gym and had a very good work-out. I did 30 minutes of hills on the tredmill and did my newest lifting program. I'm really concentrating on the arms this week and I'll stick with this program for at least one more week and than switch it up again. I'm happy that I didn't just bag the whole thing and roll over like a sloth. As part of my "other goals" I'm supposed to write 3 things I like about myself(that's always hard)and I guess the main thing I like is that when I commit to something I can be counted on to follow through. I also like my competitive nature that won't let me skip reps or cheat on my form when working out. And lastly I like the fact that I can set a goal and work hard towards achieving it.
