my trouble goal

Monday, December 18, 2006

My trouble goal is anything below 175. I haven't seen a number that low since before I became pregnant with my fist child, 27 years ago. I'm getting close to that weight right now, as I weighed in at 179 this morning. I feel very confident still, but in the back of my mind is that nagging thought of what if I can't get past 175? My goal weight is 145 pounds which is 10 more than what I weighed when I got married 30 years ago. I had to go to WW to get to that 135 pounds, so I'm not using that as I think it's unrealistic. I'm staying the course for now, and I'm not dwelling on the what-ifs. I'll just take it as it comes and do whatever I need to do in order to reach my goal.

I love your additude. Your right toss those what if's out the window. One step at a time. You will get there. I can see the determination. Your such an inspiration to the rest of us.

lousy day

Wednesday, November 08, 2006

rainy day, hard to get motivated. But I did go to the gym and do most of my workout. I've been struggling a bit with some muscle and joint soreness due to trying to ramp up my cardio. So today I only did 30 minutes on the tredmill. I did however, go at a fast pace and ran for 10 of those minutes. I've also been stricter with my diet this week as per the SP activity. Although I must admit I haven't kept the journal as per instructions, due to the process taking too much time. I have, however, been paying attention to my hunger levels and seeing if I'm really hungry or just grazing. So, here's to a good week, that's half over.

Today marks 111 pounds lost

Monday, November 06, 2006

Since 1/2/06 I've lost 111 pounds and inches too numerous to count(I actually didn't measure before I started). It's a great feeling to know I'm capable of doing something that seemed so insurmountable in the beginning. One of my motivators in starting this journey was the impending wedding for my daughter, that has been eliminated as a goal now, due to the engagement being called off. However, I haven't waivered one bit from my committment. That makes me very proud. Because I know I'm doing this for all the right reasons, not just some arbitrary single event. So, here's a pat on the back and a renewed vow to continue on my journey!

Secret to Happiness

Saturday, October 21, 2006

Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

- Maurice Setter
This to me means that we are all in charge of our own happiness. You can choose to love your life and be happy or find what's wrong with it and be dissatisfied and miserable. I believe I am an optimist and always look for the good. Even in tough times I find something positive. This is what I believe to be one of my strengths.

So each day we should all find the good in it, starting with the fact that we are able to get up and breathe.
