Today marks 111 pounds lost

Monday, November 06, 2006

Since 1/2/06 I've lost 111 pounds and inches too numerous to count(I actually didn't measure before I started). It's a great feeling to know I'm capable of doing something that seemed so insurmountable in the beginning. One of my motivators in starting this journey was the impending wedding for my daughter, that has been eliminated as a goal now, due to the engagement being called off. However, I haven't waivered one bit from my committment. That makes me very proud. Because I know I'm doing this for all the right reasons, not just some arbitrary single event. So, here's a pat on the back and a renewed vow to continue on my journey!

Secret to Happiness

Saturday, October 21, 2006

Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold.

- Maurice Setter
This to me means that we are all in charge of our own happiness. You can choose to love your life and be happy or find what's wrong with it and be dissatisfied and miserable. I believe I am an optimist and always look for the good. Even in tough times I find something positive. This is what I believe to be one of my strengths.

So each day we should all find the good in it, starting with the fact that we are able to get up and breathe.

New day, new motivation

Thursday, October 12, 2006

Hi, I've had a difficult week so far. I've been committed to my exercise and weight training program(although I've felt very draggy)but I've been eating too much after dinner. Now, it's all good food, but I've not been strict about my portions. So this morning, I'm getting back on track. I will do better today and make sure I track everything I eat and limit my "snacks". I feel very positvie this morning and know I'll be ok.

Breathing! Funny to have this sent today as our family is experiencing a mini-crisis. My oldest daughter was engaged to be married this coming June and she and her fiancee broke up today. While I know this is a minor problem compared to what many people are faced with, it's new for our family and it's hard when someone is hurting and you can't do anything to make it stop. But, we can all breathe, and if we just focus on that for the time being, than this will pass, and she will hopefully, move on and find happiness and a better life with someone new. So, I'm glad I read this passage, it is helpful.
