I'm baaacckkk!!!

Saturday, March 17, 2007

Well what a miserable thing to return to...SNOW! UGH!!! I've been in wonderful 80+ degree Florida for the past two weeks where I've been up and outdoors at 7 am for a morning run. What a fabulous way to start your day! Now, I'm home and can't even walk to my car without the danger of falling! I really want to see spring! But, I'm a bit concerned about my weigh-in for Monday. I did run every day, but no luck with the gym thing. So, I'm not feeling like I accomplished much and in fact I'm afraid I'm going to see some significant loss of strength. But, I did well with food for the most part, even though it was difficult with eating out, and eating late in the evenings. I took all my own lunches and had home made breakfasts for the majority of the time, so I hope that I didn't gain anything. I'm certain I will not have lost however...I did find some awesome wraps at Walmart. They are only 50 calories and they are 100% whole grain with flaxseed and omega 3's. They made wonderful sandwiches with some tuna/mustard or turkey breast(healthy choice or Oscar Myer 93% less fat) for about 100 calories. Well, I'm trying to catch up here on SP but I feel like a newbie all over again. So here's to a return to normalcy.

Welcome back! You've been missed!! Remember, it's life we're living - and it's great that life includes vacations now and then. We can handle them, and we can also get right back to business when we get home. So don't be too hard on yourself!

Hey Welcome Back - Good job on running every morning on vacation. In two weeks I will face a two week vacation at Corolla(Nags Head Area),NC everyone in the beach area seems to get up so early and run, walk,or ride bikes.Glad your back, I missed my daily dose of inspiration.Even if you post a gain I know you will be upset, but at the same time on vacation you really have to almost expect it.But even if it happens, I don't think it will be much, you live a much different life now.A life full of healthy choices and thinking twice about is something worth messing up what you've worked so hard to accomplish.Really glad you are back.

I wanna know what wraps you found? I buy flatout multi grain wraps they are full of good stuff and 100 cal. pretty big too for a good wrap sandwhich.

Whatever the scales says, go back and look at your positives. You got up at 7am and ran, you took your own lunches and had some homemade breakfasts, had some great sandwiches. Those are great positives, can you say before you started changing your lifestyle you would have made the same choices? The scale doesn't tell it all, you've make great accomplishments!!! -Tonya

I love this

The best inspiration is not to outdo others, but to outdo ourselves.

I was just thinking about what tools have allowed me to lose this much weight, and I realized that my competitive nature is a huge part of it. That trait has kept me from plateauing and losing focus. I am constantly stretching my bounderies to see how much I can do. Yes, there is still a little bit of fear in failing, but as I lose more and get in better shape, I'm trying so many more things and forcing myself to work harder. There are so many elements to succeeding at this battle but I think that this is the one character element that I possess that gives me an advantage.

This will be my last post until 3/17 so I will be challenged to stick with my program and keep finding success!

Best experience ever!

Friday, March 02, 2007

Yesterday I redeemed two gift certificates that I got for Christmas to a local spa. I had a massage and a parrifin pedicure and also got my nails done as well! What an amazing experience! I could have stayed all day getting that massage. It was made even better by the fact that I had gone to a 6 am spinning class and had a pretty intense shoulder/back workout the day before...I could do that on a regular basis for certain!

On the down-side yesterday was so hectic that I missed lunch and didn't get anything between breakfast and my post-workout snack, until dinner! I did have one small bottle of water, but that was it really. They offered cookies and hershey kisses which I did not partake of...so I had to play catch-up with my water for the rest of the night. I'm not positive that I did get enough calories for the day...I didn't...so I can't let that happen again,

Taking care of yourself is a wonderful thing. Doing just one thing each day that you love just because is uplifting!! Way to go on the spa treatment! I love them too!

If you get in that position again, don't skip your meals..eat some fruit and peanutbutter, or yogurt n fruit something small to keep your body going throughout the day. It doesn't have to be a huge meal. ((hugs))-Tonya

6:00 am spinning

Thursday, March 01, 2007

Today I went to spinning at 6 am! I was amazed that even though I got up at 5:15 I seemed to have more energy than when I go at 9. I'm not sure why that is, as I didn't go to bed early or anything, but I may try going at this time in the morning again...of course that won't be until I get back from Florida, but I think it's a good way to go. This class was only 45 minutes but it was way intense.

I'm getting a little nervous about not having the gym for 10 days or more. This will be the first time since we took Ashley to Boston in August that I will miss even 2 days. I do have a plan in place in the event that there are no facilities, but I will miss my spinning that's for sure.

Well, there's no point obsessing, I just need to be confident and sure that I can do this and I can adjust to whatever is thrown my way!

Back from the gym

Wednesday, February 28, 2007

Well, I'm back from the gym! Well, considering my lack of energy this morning I had a pretty good workout. Today was chest and back day. I also did 45 minutes on the tredmill. I wasn't really feeling that, but I did my 30 minute interval program (running)with hills. Than I did an additional 15 minutes. According to my Nike+ I set a new personal best for the mile! I also got in 3.65 miles distance wise. I did wimp out on the stretching, I just wanted to get out of there and since it was later than usual and lunchtime, I was starving! But, all in all I'm pleased with my workout and the effort I gave.
