Goals for BLC #21
* Lose 8 lbs. to finally reach 220.
* Go to the gym for at least 45 minutes, 3 times a week
* Drop one pants size
* Only go out to eat once a week.
* Clean and organize the house room by room so that we can start laying new flooring. (I know this isn't a healthy eating or weight loss goal, but it's something that has to be done before we can continue our house remodeling! My house is starting to look like a hoarder lives there! Lol!)
Good Luck to everyone! Hope ya'll have a great week!!!
Go Coral Curlers!!

Before I get into how I'm learning the gift of patience, let me give you the details of what I'm having to have all this patience for.
Almost a month ago (Jan.11) my husband, son and myself were involved in a car accident. A truck that was in front of us slammed on his brakes and, of course, we had to do the same, the truck that was behind us took the ditch and the car that was behind him slammed into the back of us.
I don't know what happened to cause the driver ahead of us to hit his brakes. All I know is that I've never been so terrified in my life!!! My first words out of my mouth was "Oh my God! NICHOLAS!!!" My son was in the back seat in his carseat and was screaming! My husband had already looked into the rear view mirror to check on him. (We have one of those baby mirrors in the back the faces him and his reflection is reflected back to the rear-view mirror). He says "He's ok, he's ok".... but that wasn't good enough! I couldn't get out of the car fast enough. Got back there to him and he was ok....he'd bit his tongue a little and was scared, but ok. We got him out and checked him over good just to make sure nothing was wrong. He had already quit crying by then.....but not me. I was crying because I had been so scared for him, then because I was relieved that he was ok, and then because my car was messed up.
I look at the back end of my car and see how damaged it was..... I was so upset. It was still a new car, my first brand new car. We'd only had it just over a year.
The lady that hit us came up and asked if we were all ok, we asked her the same. We were ok.....sore, but very blessed! The lady that hit us was hurting, but no one had to leave by ambulance! Thank the Lord!! I call 911 and reported the accident (you may be reading this and think "just now calling 911?" :) This all happened in the matter of a few minutes). So, we ended up being there for a few hours while the state trooper wrote everything up and we had my car towed off.
Now for the patience part.....
So, the wreck happened on a Saturday. By the next Tuesday, the insurance agent from the lady that hit us called and said they were already handling the claim, had a rental car set up for me to use and would have someone out to look at my car before the end of the week. Great! Looks like this will get settled quickly! Boy, was I in for a surprise!
By the Friday after the wreck, it was decided that my car would be considered a total loss. It was close....being since its a new car and was a hybrid, it was valued at $21,500 or something. The damage costs has to be 70-75% of what the car is valued at pre-wreck condition, meaning there had to be around $15,000 worth of damages. What ended up totaling the car was the hybrid battery. The hybrid battery is located in the back of the car and the mechanic and insurance adjuster saw where it had some damage to it. That battery alone costs around $4000 or so. We were glad they went ahead and totaled it.
The insurance agent got the numbers to contact the bank that holds the loan on my car, so they could get the pay-off and send them whatever they were going to pay for my car (the GAP insurance we have on it covers the rest). Ok..so far so good. Shouldn't be that hard and we should have everything settled really soon. WRONG!!!
For some reason, the bank is giving the insurance agent the run-around. This is a well known, established bank that's been around for some time. He's made several calls to them and no one there seems to be in a hurry to do anything! He finally was able to speak to a manager in the total loss department and she told him she got whatever papers he was trying to send them and would get started on it right away...... 3 1/2 weeks later....STILL NOTHING!!!! I even called them about 2 weeks ago and they are giving us the same story, "the Total Loss Department is backed up at the moment". Oook....... if you're that backed up hire some help!!! I may be wrong (I don't work in that kind of department) but, it shouldn't be that hard to look up the payoff on my loan and give it to the insurance agent so he can send them the money! You'd think they'd want the money....they're getting it 5 years ahead of schedule!! So, anyways, that's still being waited on.
In the meantime, we went and found me another car. At first we were going to go with a new one, but then the sales guy at Ford found a pre-owned one that is like the one I had, but is an upgraded model. Fully loaded with everything that could possibly go on it and it would cost us about $5000 less than the new one. The pre-owned one is still pretty new...it's a 2013 and has 24,000 miles on it. 2013 was the first year for this car. It's a Ford C-Max Hybrid. The sales guy told us the car was at a dealer auction that would be held in Atlanta, GA the next night, they would get it for us and put it through their Certified Pre-Owned inspection and it should be ready for us by that Friday......... well......the weather had something to say about that!
I'm sure most of you heard about all the ice and snow that shut down places like Atlanta and Birmingham, AL. I feel so bad for those people that had to deal with that! Being from the South, we just weren't prepared for that. I'm glad most everyone made it through it ok, and my prayers were with everyone. I'm by no means upset that I couldn't get my car because of the snow and ice. I was kinda bummed that I couldn't get it by the end of the week, but I completely understood.
The Ford dealership was able to get my new car in last Saturday. So, we thought we'd be in it by yesterday.... wrong again! The tires they needed to put on it had to be ordered and they had to get an SD card in for the Navigation system. The previous owners had never set it up or something. So, now we should be able to get it today....I'm not holding my breath though! Lol!!
I'm really appreciative of EVERYTHING the insurance agent from Alfa and the guys at Woody Anderson Ford in Huntsville, AL (yes I'm calling them out :) ) have done for us! They have really worked hard to help us! I'm not mad or upset at them, they've been so great! :) The only people I'm aggravated with is the people at the bank!! I'm hoping something will get settled with them soon and we can put this behind us. At least I'm not having to wait until its settled before I can get another car!
Here is a couple of pictures of my totaled car!
UPDATE: 02/10/14: They finally got my car paid off! Yay!!! We're supposed to go this afternoon and settle everything else up with the insurance company. Still waiting on my new car though. The guys at Ford are having some issues with the Navigation System in the car. They don't want to sell me the car until it's fixed, since the package that includes the system costs extra and was already added into the price of the car. They have been so great to us and are trying their best to make everything right for us!! My husband says that's what happens when you're fixing to buy a 3rd vehicle from them in the last 4 years! Lol! :)

I had my first appointment with my OB/GYN today! The baby is doing great! I found out that I'm not as far along as I had thought. I'm 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks and my baby's due date is now 12/12/12! I'm sure it will come earlier or later than that, but I would love it if it had that birthday!! I have some pictures they printed off of the ultrasound for me and the baby is so tiny!!! :)

Two weeks ago, I found out that I'm pregnant! My husband and I are so excited!!! I don't go to my first doctors appointment until Monday, but from what I can come up with, I'm around 8 weeks along! So far, no morning sickness!!! I hope it will stay that way (at least for as long as possible)!! This is my first pregnancy, so I'm learning all kinds of things along the way. We've decided (well my husband decided) to keep the gender of the baby a surprise. I don't really want it to be a surprise, but I guess it could be a good thing. The nursery will be done in Winnie the Pooh, so it will be good for either a boy or girl.

Hope everyone's week has been going good! Work has been kinda crazy lately!! People just seem to think my group can just snap there fingers and things be done instantly!! It don't work that way! But, the task is done...and a day ahead of schedule...so now we can breathe! :) So anyways my boss comes into my and my co-worker's office yesterday and says something to the fact that since we are still new and we need some "face time" we must now work from 8-5 and must take our hour lunch! Normally I come in at 7:30, eat my lunch while working and I'm outta there by 3:30. I miss most of the heavy traffic and get home around 4:00 or a few minutes after. Now that I can't leave until 5:00, I'll hit ALL that crazy traffic and now won't get home until almost 6:00. My boss said that normal hours are 8-5 and since we may still need some "training" or have questions, we need to be here those hours. Now...that may sound smart, but there's only two people that "train" myself and my co-worker.....one leaves at 1:00 for his second job and the other leaves anywhere between 4:30-6:30. If we have ANY questions on what we are working on, we would ask them way before 5:00!!!!! Also, we are the only two that has to work those hours. The other people in my group still work whatever they want as long as they have 40 hrs in at the end of the week!! The two guys that "train" us said there should be no reason that we have to work those hours! Everything was working fine the way we were doing it! Most people here leave around 4:30. Again.....why do we need to stay?!!! So... since I HAD to take my lunch break, I ate at my desk, then walked to the outside mall (we're just right across from it) and walked around it for 50 minitues. I guess that's a plus side to this whole thing....I now get my exercise in during lunch and don't have to try to do it when I get home. :) But anyways, I'm so ready for this week to be over!!!!
