It was a pretty layed back weekend as my hubby had to work Saturday. We are ALWAYS home as it feels, so I wanted to find something to do that was a bit our of the ordinary and interesting and FREE! ha. Through google search I found this great little farm that has a corn maze, pumpkin patch and animals, but they were putting on hot air-balloon rides!! So, we hopped in the car (took silly pics first) and then headed on over! Well, we actually ATTEMPTED making our own caramel apples, but I over boiled the caramel and the candy apples sounded like the kids were biting into ice! FLOP. Oh well, that's what happens when you don't have a candy thermometer! Of course, my kids still tried to eat them.
It was really neat seeing the hot air balloon being raised! They were only charging $10 a ride which is incredibly cheap as most h.a.b rides cost over $250. What i didn't realize was that they only allow you to go up 30ft (boring) and for about 2 minutes. I want to really take a hot air balloon ride someday, but a real ride. I have to figure out who to take with me someday as my hubby will NOT go. I'll have to ask my one friend from NJ, because we said that someday when we turn 40 we have to do something interesting for our birthdays. I don't think I can get her to skydive with me so it just may have to be a hot air balloon ride.
Also, I was stoked about getting these boots this wkd. I got a really really great deal on them! I have really been wanting some brown knee high boots and they are brazillian! Ooh, some flair...I may break out in a brazilian dance. ha. For some reason, in the pic they make my calf look like the size of my thigh. lol. It was probably the angle of the camera, but they fit perfect.
Today was very busy! We went to church and then we got our family pictures FINALLY taken. We were all dressed up from coming from church which was fine, but I really wanted more casual attire for the pictures. I am hoping that a few came out good of all of us. AFter that we went to some friends for dinner/lunch and had a good time. I got my social outing in for the wkd! This mama needs to get our more! ha.
So, all in allI it was a pretty good weekend, but I don't like when my hubby has to work. He has to do what he has to do though! It's called reality. I just thought I would share a little of our weekend with you as wild and crazy as it was...

So today I ate very well. I felt terrible all day and forced myself most of the time to eat and none the less, eat well. I wanted the not to healthy things sometimes, but tried to keep on track. Knowing I had to food blog helped! BIG TIME. I think I will definitely keep doing this.
My blood sugar was an issue today. I had to eat an extra snack for it, but made it an apple atleast and not a dunkin donut along with my coffee that I wanted. I am on a no sugar kick for the pregnancy so I have that to keep committed to as well.
I will just show pics and describe what I ate. No exercise today though due to feeling quite terrible. I hate not exercising, but I had to listen to my body!
Breakfast: Wasn't very hungry so I had just a cup of nonfat plain yogurt with 2T. wheat germ
Snack: a medium apple
Lunch: a off the bone ham/laughing cow wedge sandwich thin sandwich with romaine lettuce and diet ginger ale for the tummy first
Snack: 2 ou. of light jalapeno cheddar cheese and ak-mak organic crackers and a cup of sugar free hot cocoa
At this point I was not nauseous but just needing a little sugar fix
Dinner: 4 ounces of roasted chicken and 130 grams of roasted acorn squash I had to take the picture of the chicken as it looked so nice instead of cut up on a plate. ha
Oh and this was while I was out at the store. I got wicked tired from my blood sugar going low so I had some glucose tablets for a quick rise in my blood sugar and some coffee for a rise in my energy haha.
I bought some ice cream for tha family as my kids asked for some. We don't have ice cream around much, but none for me thank you!
Hear are my two nutballs. They started off by drawing on their faces and somehow it ended up that they were making clown faces on their butts. Man, are they boys or what!
Well, I know tomorrow is not going to be a great eating day as we planned out having grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner, but portion control will be there. I will still do a blog as this has really helped me!

I need to set some goals (written goals) and start some food blogs again to annoy the heck out of all of you. No, to keep myself a bit more accountible. Everyday I focus to eat the right things, but it seems like I fall some how and go over my cals. I am trying to shoot for 1450 a day, but pshhh, it's probably been more in the upper 1600-1800. Eek...I'll hit that 25lbs. before I know it. The only good thing I have going right now is that I am still exercising or let's say moving. I am weighing myself tomorrow to see how much I have put on in the past 2 weeks. I feel my body really changing over the past 2 days. I feel like my hips are widening some and my belly is a poppin! Dude, I am going to be 3 months (yay, almost out of the first trimester) in one week! WEll, I say it's true that your body changes more quickly with the more pregnancies you have. I don't feel like I have gained so much all around but really baby pooch weight. Definitely have lost some definition big time, but still working on some light ST twice a week. Atleast I'm getting sore.
So here are a few goals:
1. Trying to keep within a 1450-1500 calorie range daily and not over snacking when I get really hungry
2. Making cleaner choices. Sometimes it's hard when you really want that pack of keebler club sandwich crachers instead of hte ak-mak organic sesame crachers with a little cottage cheese. It's about choices. I realized today that I am still exercising, but what am I really burning calorically wise. So, NUTRITION IS KEY RIGHT NOW. This IS NOT about weight loss, but it's about keeping a healthy body for hte baby and keeping the weight gain down.
3. Drinking more. I have struggled big time with getitng in a gallon of water as I was doing great for sooooo long. Well, it doesn't help that summer is over, but I average 12 cups a day. Iwould like to consume more water though.
4. Keep up the greatness of not consuming sugar. I broke down and bought sugar free hot cocoa yesterday. Atleast it's not sugar, but it's my little fix. It was a great fix.
5. Enjoying every step of this miracle that is being created inside of me.
6. Keep up with exercising 6 days a week. I have had no problem with this even though I don't want to wake up at 5:30 every morning. I am still getting in ST twice a week although my original goal was 3-4..It's just not happening. Cardio: still walking with interval runs. Would like to see my time improve with that in the mornings. I have been averaging 30-35 minutes but my goal is 45 minutes. Each day will be different but you still have to have goals.
So, I hope you all are reaching high to all your goals. Let's keep encouraging another!

Well as most of you know I am pregnant. As my blog entry states "I'm kicking the sugar habit". Maybe habit is not the best word, but it's something that really needs to go right now. As a diabetic, my body is easily sensitive to sugar and sugar makes it very very difficult to control my blood sugars. Normally, I will allow one day on the wkd for my sugar fix, but it's still not good. Lately with the pregnancy, I have been not reeling in those sugar cravings. Not do I only just want to gain no more than 25 lbs with this pregnancy (less would be fine too), but most importantly I want to keep my body a safe environment for the baby.
I have decided as of yesterday to cut out ALL sugar. No more donuts, entemann's, double stuffed oreo's, stealing my kid's candy or even flavored creamer in my coffee when I can really start drinking it again. I hope it will be easier than I think, but either way the goal is to to this all for the baby. What I am really hoping as well that it will create a new habit of not wanting to satisfy my sweet tooth after the pregnancy. I have always wanted to really be so committed and focused to really rid myself of those things about 90% of the time. Like, I can go a weekend without some form of sugar. So, we will see on that end, but day one complete and another 7 or so months to go!
