Hi friends! Happy Friday!
I probably won't be around Sunday, so a very Happy Mother's Day to all my SP moms!!
4/27 - 169
5/4 - 166
5/11 - 164
Yup, I'm getting there. 160 is my pool opens goal. 2 weeks, 4 lbs, totally doable.
Emily passed all her pre-tests. She has classes tonight and then tomorrow. That's it. So by tomorrow I'll know if she's passed and received her certification.
Chad went on his field trip with school...a minor hiccup with his allergies, but over all he had a great time.
Preston is doing good. He's obviously going through a growth spurt, and is eating like non stop. This is good though, because normally he hardly eats anything at all. Luckily, he's big on fruits and vegetables! Also, he loves plain brown rice. Odd, but cool!
Um, my finger is doing better. The skin is starting to peel around it, something I hadn't expected. But I'm starting to have some feeling in it again, so that's good.
I'll be 3 weeks smoke free this weekend...yay!
That's really about it. I'm going to leave you all with a couple of pictures.
First, last nights chorus concert...it was difficult to get a picture of Emily.
She is...well, do this. See the 2 girls in front in black? Count 2 girls more to the right (in red) and go up 1. That's my girl, with the light highlights.
Now, a few pictures from today...for whatever reason, whenever I ask Preston to look at the camera he always puts one hand up. Don't worry, he's not giving you the finger, I promise!
Those are both from the other end of our apartment building. This one is from our balcony. I tell ya, if it weren't for the stupid power lines running right behind here, it would be 100% perfect.
Regardless, I love it back here. So peaceful. We see all kinds of wild life, and in the summer, when the trees are full like this, it almost makes you feel like you're not right outside of the city!
So I think that's about it for this week. I'm still doing cardio and ST everyday, or at least one of those each day (I have to have some rest days), and am noticing major differences.
I hope you are all doing well and have a most wonderful weekend!!

Hello SP friends & Happy Hump Day!
OK, so I'm on a mission this morning. I'm looking for summertime recipes. There are two reasons for this, which are necessary to share, so that maybe you offer a suggestion.
1) NO OVEN! We live on the 3rd floor, so we already heat up well in the summer and run the air constantly. Adding the oven into that mix just doesn't work well.
2) Late meals. For those of you that know me, you know we LIVE at the pool in the summer. The pool doesn't close until 8, so we generally don't eat until 8:30.
3) I eat clean. Now this can mean something different to many people, something I've noticed here on SP. For me, this means nothing processed, nothing with sugar, and only lean meats. Here is what my dinner can consist of:
*1 serving protein
*1 cup veggies
*1 cup salad OR mixed, raw veggies
*1 serving starch (1/2 cup)
*2 Tbsp salad dressing
*Up to 1/2 cup condiments, if desired
*1 serving fat
So I'm looking to not use the oven, and I'm looking for something that maybe I can prepare ahead of time, so that when we get home we can change clothes & eat.
I do have a crock pot, so that is definitely an option.
Now we don't stay at the pool until 8 absolutely every night, but close to it, LOL! Some nights hubby will come home and grill quick (having everything ready before we leave for the pool in the afternoon), but not every night.
I did find one earlier this morning that might work, though may need some minor tweaking
- Asparagus, Red Pepper, and Potato Frittata...
2 cups (16 ounces) AllWhites®
1/2 cup light ricotta cheese
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 cups Simply Potatoes® Shredded Hash Browns
1/2 pound fresh asparagus cut into 1-inch pieces
1 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
So if you have any ideas for me, please share. Kim, I have the feeling you have some ideas :) Maybe Cori too?

Good Morning & Happy Friday my friends! What a week this has been!
4/27 - 169
5/4 - 166
Second off...the workouts...
been doing well with them. Monday was my first day off in a while, but I needed to just take it easy that day, with the finger and all. Which, by the way, is feeling way better. The tip of the finger is still kind of numb and funny feeling. I'm not going to lose the nail though, so yay!
Tonight is Emily's first of 5 life guarding classes. Tonight they do all the swimming tests (swimming 300 yards, treading water for 2 minutes, and a rescue test). They have to pass all the tests in order to continue on with the classes. I know she can do this, but if you could all send her positive energy, warm thoughts, etc. that would be really cool!
After tonight, then it's studying the books this weekend, and a written exam next weekend, and also the CPR certification.
The boys are doing good too, just nothing really new to report about them!
Otherwise, everything here is going well. Going to finish writing a paper today for school, and then I'm down to 5 weeks left of my associates!!
Tomorrow I will finish the first week of the Spring into Shape Bootcamp challenge. Turns out, the videos used for the challenge, are the ones I've been using over the last 2 to 3 weeks to tone up. So it's not any different than what I had been doing. I can feel my muscles coming alive all over my body. I can really feel them in my stomach...just hope one day I can see those ones. I swear, I'm losing, but my stomach just is not getting any smaller and some days I think it's gotten bigger! Maybe all those muscles are pushing my stomach out more??!! LOL!
Then again, last year it was not until I hit around 165 that I noticed my stomach really starting to slim down. Guess it's the last thing to go...go figure!
OK, so that is all here. Going to go get my workout in, then eat breakfast, and then...well who knows what the day will bring! I hope you all have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!!
Edit - My good friend there asked about the not-smoking, and I hadn't even thought to mention it. That's because the further out I get, the less I think about it. Yes - I'm still smoke-free and today is day 13! I'm feeling great, no longer having cravings, and am thinking less and less about it. I'll be stepping down (or is it up?) to Step 2 of the patches on Sunday morning. I can't wait to be done with the patches and just done all together!

Happy May everyone! Ahh...that means only 25 days until the pool opens!!
Current stats for 2012
1/1 - 180
2/1 - 177
3/1 - 174
4/1 - 167
5/1 - 167.8
So no loss for the month of April. I gained a lot though...and I don't mean weight!
iends...and good health! I started ST a few weeks ago, and I love it, but that is also when my weight really evened out and hasn't moved. That's OK though, because after 2 weeks of ST, I can already see the difference it's making.
And again...thank you to my SP friends who nominated me for a SP Motivator award!!
My finger still hurts, but I guess it's going to be that way for awhile, so I best just get use to it and quit complaining!! I didn't work out at all yesterday, my first full day off in a long time. I was just having a hard time with the stupid finger, and then the glass, oh and let's not forget the cat scratches, LOL!
So today I went to the gym, did the elliptical for a while, did some weights, and then came home and did day 2 and 3 of the Spring into Shape Bootcamp. Feeling better now!
So for May, my goals are to keep up with my cardio, strength training, and healthy eating. I'm making progress! I read a great blog last week about not letting the number on the scale define me. While this is something I already knew, it was nice to be reminded of that.
I hope you all have a GREAT May!! Now if these lingering April showers would go away, that would be awesome!

It is such an honor to be chosen as a Spark People Motivator. Thank you for nominating me!!
It was a huge surprise and it came at a great time, as I'm having a rough morning!!
This blog is going to be short, because of this...
Last night Preston accidentally shut my finger in the car door. And I panicked, and instead of opening the door, I yanked my finger out, which probably wasn't the smartest thing. All I know is it hurts, and it's slowing down my typing.
Because it hurt so bad last night, I didn't eat dinner. I was just in too much pain, I couldn't do anything. So I woke up, extremely light headed and weak and somehow the glass in my hand just slipped and fell to the floor, the carpeted floor, and busted into a bizillion pieces. And yes, of course I cut myself on the opposite hand cleaning it up!
So it's been a rough morning, and I was feeling a bit down. So I logged into Spark, because this place always makes me happy, and I see that I received Spark People Motivator!! I just wanted to cry...happy tears of course!
Everyone here...each and every one of you...motivate me every day! You guys are what keeps me going. I don't even know what else to say, other than THANK YOU!!
So I might be a bit quiet today, because this typing thing hurts and it's frustrating, but I'm here!! I love you all!!
Update 10:30 AM - Let's add some more injury! I was taking my cat to my bedroom, and Preston jumped, startling the cat. He managed to scratch my arm in 3 places, a two inch scratch straight down my stomach, and a nice deep one on my boob!!
If it weren't for Preston, I'd crawl back into bed and stay there!! I did manage to have a nice healthy breakfast!
