So, is the egg worth it?

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

I saw this in the office fridge this morning and I remember I used to eat them all the time, even though they made my teeth rattle! Now I wonder, thanks to SP, is it worth it? 170 calories. Not worth it to me! Is it worth it to you?

Got a run in this morning in between the rain!

C25K W6D1
distance 2.77 miles
time 36 minutes
average pace 13.13 (those walk warm up cool downs kill my pace!)
course THE HILLS
temp 32 degrees and really windy!

Okay... so I am going to VENT

My BF left this morning to a trade show in Las Vegas. He'll be home late Saturday night and has to work Sunday. Is it Monday yet? Honestly, didn't think I would ever want to see Monday!

Work is hectic. Everyone is getting snippy with each other as we are crashing down on a deadline that is unrealistic. (so why am I sparking?) so I leave the office in a foul mood.

Get to Curves. The Stupid, I mean Smart program last Saturday increased me by 9 and said I did bad. Today, it increases me by 53. emoticon If I did bad w/ an increase of 9 why did you increase me by 53? See what I mean about it NOT being smart? Okay so I worked out and it said I burned more calories than last time, and I did better over all, but then said I did really bad on my muscle groups. I just roll my eyes and tack it up to it being a stupid program that I would have never let pass out of QA.

I get home. BF is really busy doing stuff, forgets we are going out to dinner. Not a big deal, I get stuff done and we go out. On our way... my friend calls...

so here is the SAGA. 2 yrs ago she buys a horse trailer that needs to be repaired and my BF is going to do the repairs and this way we'll be 50/50 on the trailer. Originally it just looked like an axel, but the entire frame needs to be rebuilt. However, it was duly noted that the trailer would be fixed AFTER the house addition was completed. Well the house is almost completed. So, yes, that means the trailer is not.

Since I moved my horse last summer to a different barn, she has been whining off an on about the trailer. So last month she gets some bug up her butt (she does this occasionally and everything has to be by her plan and she won't stop till it is).

She has reached the end of her patience and wants the trailer fixed. Well it's not going to happen soon. The trailer has to be put up on blocks, the wheels removed and the entire frame rebuilt. In WI in March, you don't do this outside! And it cannot be done in the shop because um.. he has to work in that shop for a living and the horse trailer will take up the whole bay, meaning no work can be done. The trailer repair will take over a week to do.

So she wants to know if she should take it and get someone else to do the job or if I want to buy the trailer. No, I am not going to buy the trailer. It is not a need / want for me right now.

So she thinks a friend that works with aluminum can fix it. I laughed and told her she needs a STEEL worker, not aluminum. So she actually finds one. And I don't know what she told this mutual friend of ours, but he's under the impression the trailer has to get out of our yard ASAP because we said so. Not true.

So he and the steel worker come out and look at it and the guy says no way, doesn't want to rebuild the frame and told her a shop would have to do it and it would be over $3,000. So now, she is bummed that the money spent on the trailer is gone and she has to scrap it or give it to someone to use as a shed. I tell her that the trailer IS fixable if she just wants to go back to the original agreement and wait. BF was planning on fixing it this summer as house is almost done. Or, she could do what she wanted to with it, or I would buy it for scrap value and I'll wait for my BF to fix it.

So she agrees to go back to original plan. Fine. THEN she must have been lamenting to someone her trailer whoas and she calls all excited and wants to pick up the trailer NOW to take it to a shop for an estimate. She says that it can get done in a few weeks instead of waiting. I asked if she realized this would be over $3,000 and she didn't seem to worry about it. Find out another friend said they know a friend that has the shop, they'll cut you a deal.

My BF came home before she got there so he could chain the axel to the frame. As she pulls the trailer off the property, my BF said it is NOT coming back till I am ready to fix it. ok.

Well of course... she takes it to 3 different places for estimates and they will not even give her one because it will cost more to fix it than it is worth and they are worried when they give her the bill, she'll say no way, and they will be stuck with the trailer.

So now she is whining AGAIN that she lost her money, the trailer is scrap. I emailed that I don't know how many times I have to tell her that it IS fixable, she just has to wait until BF is ready to fix it (and I added in you keep the trailer till this time), do whatever the heck you want to do with it, or I'll buy it at a scrap price.

So now she wants to go back to the original deal (figures) but can't keep the trailer! HAH tough beans! This will start a fight between my BF and I, I am sure if that trailer comes back before he's ready and frankly, I am not going to have a fight with my BF over something that is not a problem of mine, but a problem she created on herself.

The barn owners where she boards will not let her keep it there because it cannot be moved. Excuse me? You hauled it over 15 miles, what do you mean it can't be moved? I told her to park it in her back yard, she as 2 spots and a garage. She can't do that, she wont be able to get her truck in the garage. ?? so park it next to the trailer for a few months! To park it in front of her house, she'll need a permit. ?? so go BUY ONE!!!

So I send her an email this morning telling her that it is NOT coming to my house. Whatever she said to the barn owners lead them to believe it cannot be moved and that was really dumb on her part and she needs to get them to understand that it does move. And just sorta left the ball in her court.

She had to have it fixed right now and was delirious thinking a shop would do it for under $2000 and now wants to bring it back. So what, in two weeks she can change her mind again?

AUGH. I am so sick of this frickin trailer... and I have a cold. And my BF is gone til Saturday night.... and work is stressful...and my taxes are gonna be done tomorrow, and now, as a landlord, I have extra income and scared how much Uncle Sam is going to want!

If you are still here.. wow, I am impressed.... this was pretty much written to blow off steam!

I used to eat those Cadbury eggs every Easter. That was many years ago & I have gotten so used to eating better that I honestly don't miss them at all. In fact, I remember how rich & sweet they were. I bet they would make me sick now.

The trailer story.... wow, that friend really requires lots of patience as she doesn't quite 'get it'... oofda!

Well talk about a little drama. Your friend should get an oscar! And so should you for putting up with it for this long.

As for the egg. Eat it if you want, but not if need. Want, tastes better but without the guilt. emoticon

I had to clench my fists and put my hands in my pockets to keep from buying a box (or 10) of Cadbury Creme Eggs when I went to Walmart today- that is probably my FAVORITE candy- thankfully they are only available for a month or two!

What a friend, I've known a few of that type over the years, and all I can say is do what you have to do. Best of luck to ya.

Darn a lot of drama for a trailer. There has to be a better solution.

Goodnes, thats some friend you have; I'm thinking I wouldn't want the trailer at my place either---this way if she gets another bug up her butt she can do whatever she wants with the trailer without getting you involved.
As for the egg----I had one already this season, but it is more than likely the last one too. It sure was very sweet, seemed sweeter than I remember.

I remember eating the Cadbury creme eggs. But I could never eat a whole one. I would have to save it in the fridge and eat it over a few days. If they came in dark chocolate, I might even buy one now.
YAY run!!!
I'm sorry about work and BF going away.
GRRR for the Stupid program. And GRRR for friend with the trailer.
Now a cold. It's not your week.
Are you feeling better now that you've gotten this all off your chest?

Sheesh! That woman sounds like a piece of work! You know, after dealing with all that you are right now, I'd say "YES", the Cadbury egg is worth it! (I like to allow myself one or two each year.)
Hope your cold is better soon and the time your BF is away goes by super fast!

I ran my first 5K!!! and got soaked!!!

Sunday, March 20, 2011

The first annual Shamrock Shuffle sponsored by the YMCA of Lake Geneva, WI was today! And I entered w/ emoticon Lynn and we got emoticonas it was raining as we ran emoticonjust before we finished and more emoticondriving home!

It was a great experience. I cannot believe I ran in the emoticon!!! It's because I paid for it!!! (hope I don't pay for it later too!) and I didn't want to back out of my first 5K! What has SP done to me? I also received a great article from another emoticonand I have to say I was really prepared! I had my bag packed the night before and was really happy I had a warm DRY sweatshirt and socks to put on when I got to the car!

I came in 50 out of 75(?) I forgot to see how many were entered. I know they said 75, some of which didn't run, but there were last minute signer uppers the day of the race. We snapped these before all the results were in and then forgot to look. DUH.
My time was 33 minutes on the nose. emoticon I figured I would be at least 36 minutes, but figured it would be a little better w/ less walk breaks from the C25K programs.

Here is me... soaking wet, #401

Here is Lynn, again, soaking wet! #372

I got home and took a HOT HOT HOT shower, felt so good!!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Lynn and I plan on running another 5K this summer, Chocolate Fest!

Great job on your first race! I have run tons of 5Ks but never in the rain. I was very concerned because it was raining hard on Saturday morning before my first triathlon, but luckily the weather held out. Ever since it has been raining, so I am really thankful I didn't have to run, bike and swim in the rain.

We danced!

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Okay, so he comes home and is FINE! He was really gimpy leaving in the morning and I was really surprised to see him walking on it w/o issue last night. I left it to him what to do. We have lessons that we help with, then there was a dance that night. Since he has been getting up at 4 a.m. the past 2 days and did this am, we just did the lessons and didn't do the dance.

So glad he's better because we have two dances this weekend to our favorite callers!!!

I rocked out C25K W5D3 this morning, 20 minutes straight run. It felt so emoticonand amazing that this program works!!! I also did not run any slower
than I usually do as my pace per mile was the same as it was the prior runs. emoticon

So this gives me 2 days off of running before my 5K. Ouch.. .Saturday night will be a LATE night out, not ideal for a 5K, but what can you do? It's my favorite caller!!!

I'm not broken!!!

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

I took my first spinning class yesterday for an hour. It was GREAT and my butt really was not that sore. I attribute this to being in pretty good shape and being used to riding in an English Saddle! I was also smart enough to grab one of the gel seat cushions they had!

I was really worried about my run this morning though. Another runner posted a thread that they 'broke themselves' by spinning as it was really painful to run the next day. This was NOT an issue this morning, to which, I was very relieved.

I now am getting my runkeeper to synch to the website, emoticon
Did W5d2 this morning. Next run is Friday, then Sunday is the big emoticon5K

Going to Curves later tonight, non Zumba night. I did also sign up for the rest of the spinning classes, there is 4 more weeks. This class is fun, but its far to go and I have to leave work early. I think after the 4 wks, I'll just drag out my trusty bike and cruise the hood emoticon
Hope everyone is having a great week!
