THANKS to all my friends that gave my sister a emoticon!!! She did the C25K work out this morning! emoticon

After the whole month of being 2-3# higher than I have been, I finally got back down this morning. Thank goodness... I hate all this up an down! 1-1.5 #s is one thing but 3? puleaze...

Still cranking the crunches and other ST in the AM. Going to Curves tonight. Tomorrow will be on the emoticonin the AM, then off to dance lessons.

I am going to be dragging my butt on Saturday. I just found out last night one of our favorite callers is calling that night. A real hustle and move it caller. I tend to not plan food deliveries on dance nights... you guessed it, delivering food Saturday..augh

My younger sister is back on SP w/ some prodding from me. She gave me her screen name and told me to kick her butt so I am going to do just that AND I want all my sparkly friends to help me! Her screen name is WANNABEAMILF, so please go write on her page send her goodies, etc.

Little family history, latent diabetes runs in our family, does not hit until usually in your 50's and it it only hits the women EVERY OTHER GENERATION. My sister and I are the generation to be hit. I remember as a youngster watching my grandmother give herself insulin shots emoticonnot for me sorry!

My Dr's always said to watch your weight and you can probably not be effected by this. Our mom always said this too. Also, our mother actually got this in her 50's. First time in many generations that it did not skip. She was overweight, but I would not say obese.

My seestor was very proud of me for shedding the weight, it gave her hope that she could shed it too. I have been gently nudging her but not gently anymore, since she gave me permission to kick her butt after all!!!

Weekend... Was NICE... We actually took a break from dancing. I did nothing on Friday night, except have too much emoticon

Went to Curves Sat morning and there was a Zumba class going on. Okay fine, I'll do it again! I have a confession to make. I want the Zumba instructors butt! I believe she is around my age and yes, I have butt envy...something to work on.... I also ran Saturday afternoon redoing the C25K program and it really is helping not to be staring at the display!

Got lots of errands done!

Saturday night we went to dinner emoticonyum. Sunday, checked on the horse and got a lot of computer work done.

This morning, back to my 170 crunches and I cranked out another C25K work out! WHOOT Let's go sparkly buddies!!!

Okay.. so the emoticonshows 108 this morning and thought huh. Looked in the mirror and said 'I'm okay with that.' I like how I look, I don't 'feel' 108, which is usually a emoticonfeeling for me. So maybe, just maybe... I'm finally building more muscle? Would be nice since I've been doing 150+ crunches for the past few weeks!

I need a day off..sheesh! There is so much going on as of late and it's time to take a step off the social train and chillax baby. We have been dancing 3 times a week for the last 3 weeks! While we love it, we really need to get some stuff done around the house and I have tons of errands to do. That and I want to emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonespecially now that I have a new game plan!

Going to hit Eddie Bauer and return a gift that just 'isn't me' and either get another one of those shirts the my BF said looked really good on me, or something else. Of course, since I'll be in site of Under Armor, I'll just HAVE to stop there. I am taking Cindy's advice and just buying another compression shirt because, hey, I'm worth it baby! I still have no idea where my other one went... Murphy's Law, will find it over weekend once I purchase another one!

emoticon emoticonThere should be a law that negative temperatures should NOT be allowed. -5 this morning, that is just SO wrong. emoticon emoticon

ZUMBA! Loved it!!! There were some moves I could do real easy and others that made me feel like suck a dork!! But it was FAST! So in time, the movements will come. It's not that much, $25 for 13 work outs. If you have the opportunity, try it! Definitely something different, and I have been in a zone where I need something different!

I need to really go thru my closet. I keep pulling out sweaters to wear only to find they don't fit. Clean out, give away, declutter, that sorta thing.

Hmm what else can I muse about?

Oooh... I really want to do a few 5K's this year. I promised my BF though that I would not be competitive. I wonder if he'll think running 5K's as competitive or if just marathon training is competitive. hmmm

Well all my sparkly friends.. have a WUNDERBAR WEEKEND!! Stay warm and pain free!! I'll be in the garage with the coverette driver that never passes me ... as it's gonna be cold! emoticon

    Clean out the closet is always good! Hubby had me do it last week and we got rid of 5 trash bags full of clothes. I love most everything left in my closet and feel like I only need to add a red shirt to complete my wardrobe. I am going to be doing the chill thing a little this weekend too! 108, no worries. I'm 108 right now. We'll be twins.
I'm glad you had fun with the Zumba. Yes, it'll just take time to get the moves down. The way any sort of dancing is. You'll be a pro in no time.
It's a good idea to get rid of the stuff that doesn't fit. Leaves more room for stuff that does.

I got an idea

Okay... I got an idea. I really dislike running inside on the emoticoncompared to being outside. But living in WI and working full time with a 45 minute commute really takes away from any available light source in which to run before or after work. Weather also effects this. I have run when it was 13 degrees, but the roads have to be clear of ice and it has to be daylight (BF's rules)

So.. I'm stuck on the emoticonin the garage starring at a shelf emoticon Gets kinda boring. yes I have an ipod. I also have a training program to work on endurance that I have used and I need some other motivation. This is not cutting it.

Oh... I can REDO the C25K program as 1/2 hour on the emoticonis about where I sit. (or run technically) before I am SO bored out of my mind.

So I can throw a towel over the display and not watch the minutes pathetically pass by and just follow the program on a pod cast! YES that is what I will do!!! Fantastic... I have a plan... yippee...

Figure in 9 weeks from now, it will be be March and I'll have more
emoticonto move outside and then I'll be ready to switch over to the 10K program where I was last fall before the weather drove me inside.

    ROFL! I could have written this exact post myself! I too, am stuck in the garage on the treadmill. But instead of staring at a shelf, I stare at a golf cart ;) I really wish I would have bought those Yak Tracks last time we were at Cabelas. I'm hoping it warms up (or at least my running path clears up) by the end of next week when I start the regular 5-mile runs (HM training). But you are right, having a training plan definitely helps with the motivation to get on the stupid thing! LOL!

    For me cardio is just that way, whether I have a diversion or not. Sometimes switching exercises helps, maybe a small TV? I set the machine and half way through it is always I have how many minutes left? He he, then I tell myself just to suck it up and take it with my big girl panties on. Good luck on your quest for interesting cardio.

    Moving my treadmill into the living room in the picture window overlooking our pond made all the difference. I can watch tv or check out the nature scene in my own back yard. Perhaps you can change the scenery by talking the BF into moving the machine to a more pleasant place than the garage. Just a suggestion......Good luck no matter what your choice of exercise is!

    I feel your pain staring at that shelf! You might try a dif podcast - I really liked the Chubby Jones podcasts - she has them for 5 and 10K. She's funny and plays interesting music while chatting through the workout. If you're a reader, the Kindle rocks for treadmill workouts because you can pump the font up to something readable while you are bouncing around. I like to have a health/fitness/motivational book to read for workouts (reading The Spark now emoticon). Of course, a book on tape might pass the time as well. Have no fear - we'll soon be complaining about the hot and humid summer emoticon

Do NOT add whey powder to your oatmeal. It does not taste good. In fact, it's kinda pasty! And I only did 1/2 a scoop!!! I was good and ate it all.. fast before I changed my mind!

I was wanting to increase my protein in the AM and figured this might do the trick. Um... nope!!!

Weekend was busy with running and dancing. woo hoo. Monday, I planned all these errands to do and the snow came down, hard. BF went out and called me and told me to stay home! LOL So I at least got a run in and did a bunch of book work yesterday. I really hate when your plans for the day get waylaid.

HOPEFULLY this week with charge right along though!!! Started with 50 bicycle crunches, 110 crunches and 10 Lying 45-Degree Abduction, I pulse them. I thought they were reverse crunches at first, but they are not, and they are much harder than reverse crunches!

Will be going to Curves later tonight!

    The whey powder in oatmeal doesn't sound good to me either. I am jealous of your ability to work out. (Not really - just feeling mopey and sorry for myself because I can't right now.)

    I know this sounds gross and I've never tried it, but I've heard of people putting egg whites IN their oatmeal before they cook it. Just mix it in with the oatmeal. I figure they don't have much taste, right?

And this sounds weird but its really good. I take cottage cheese and blend it in the food processor with either chocolate pudding powdered mix or I think I've used chocolate protein powder and some splenda to taste. Kind of tastes like chocolate cheesecake! YUMMMMMMYYYYYYY!!!!

    We have oatmeal with protein and flax almost every morning. I think the key is to try making the oatmeal a little on the watery side so there is enough liquid to blend the protein in.
Also, you could experiment with fruit flavoured proteins (mango, berry or banana come to mind). We did try chocolate once but that didn't appeal to us.

    I tried a smoothie with soy protein powder once and I felt like I was drinking chalk! I used up some of the powder (I hate throwing away expensive stuff!) making protein bars which were a lot better.

    I add whey powder to my oatmeal all the time. I also add fiber one to increase the fiber content. I usually add a little vanilla extract for flavor.

    May I suggest string cheese for your protein? Also, this morning I saw a recipe for peanut butter banana oatmeal. Basically, it said to add your peanut butter after you cooked it. You could try that for an increase of protein.
