OUCH! That really hurts!

Sunday, January 30, 2011

emoticonI pulled a lower back muscle yesterday. OUCH. What I did, didn't seem that big of a deal, but I leaned over w/ my shoulders only really, but I guess I rotated and that's a big no-no.

I felt/heard three POPS and the pain just started radiating across my lower back. THANKFULLY, my friend was with me delivering food yesterday as we had such a huge order. She heard the pops too! We had over 3000# to deliver. I would have had help for only 2200#, I would have unloaded the rest by myself if she was there. AUGH.. I had be down. no fun. BOO

Luckily too, I was really close to my chiro and he hadn't closed yet, so I was able to get in there. He worked on me for an hour! When I went in, the pain was pretty intense and it felt like two poles were jammed into my back. When I left, the pain was dull and the poles were gone.

The first thing I said when I acknowledged I pulled my back out... Oh crap, I won't be able to run tomorrow. Oh no, We are supposed to be dancing to my favorite caller tonight! I was allowed to go dancing as long as I kept it easy and I was okay. I had NO desire to run this morning...don't have much of a desire to do anything but crawl back into bed! I am really tired. Back doesn't hurt that bad, but is sore.

sigh. wonder how long this is going to keep me down. emoticon

So when you are ready to run again make sure you use yours! But don't go out before you're ready- don't re-injure yourself!

Happy HUMP Day!!!

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

I am still going in full swing emoticon I did week 1 day 3 of the C25K work out this morning along w/ my 180 crunches. After work is square dancing lessons, so about 90 minutes of that.

My emoticonis behaving!!! Or does that just mean I'm behaving? Whichever, all is good!

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
below is a picture of my emoticon do not look if you are squeamish...it is not pretty or for the faint of heart. I'll give some info first, mainly to move the picture down the blog...

1. I love a tint of GREEN on my banana's. Overly ripe, and I refuse to buy them.

2. I gag if I eat overly ripe or close to being overly ripe bananas. I will only eat them if I don't have any left but this one.

3. I eat banana's 5-6 days a week.

4. I purposely buy my banana's more green as they ripen so fast. I try to get 3-4 days worth....works out well, any more than that and you guessed, too ripe bananas.

SERIOUSLY...they have a completely different taste and texture. emoticon

I should have NOT purchased these. They were perfect color, but a few bunches actually had one where it was broken in half, like it was snapped open? It was brown and discolored.

I carefully picked out my bunch. There was one that was broken in half, so I removed it from my bunch. Felt all the other ones and they were firm in flesh.

Uh, a day later, there was a soft spot in the center of half the bananas. hmmm So I grabbed them carefully when I would eat them. They are really small, under 6" so one good one on the way into work and 2/3rds of a bruised one once at work and I could pick around the bruise. And the interesting thing..they were not bruised on the outside.

This morning I was not as lucky. 2/3rds of one on the way to work. When I got to work, I was disgusted when I pealed the last one, and I took a pic of it because I was thinking of complaining to the store and now I definitely am going to. Not asking for money back, just to let them know that something BAD happened to their nanners. I think part of them must of gotten frozen? what do you think?

Update: I did get a reply back from the produce manager apologizing I got bad bananas. Sounds kinda funny eh? They will replace them. He explained that all banana farms/plantations are going to be having problems w/ the cold weather for a bit. So I guess I was right, it was that they got too cold.

I don't know if I've bought bad bananas, but I have boughten them and forgotten on in the car and had it turn pretty bad by the time I've discovered it again. Something I take question on is when I go to pick out fruit and there are those little fruit flies zipping around, eeeeekkkkk - I know that is how they end up getting into my own home - brought home on the fruit I buy. Ickkkkk. I can pick buckets of apples from the orchard and let them ripen for days and remain pest free.

I also cut out the bad parts of the nanners before eating them. If I get a yucky one, it goes in the trash instead of mashing it up for bread. Congrats on completing another week of your program emoticon

Totally agree, I don't like over ripe bananas either, slippery and slimey to me yuk. The picture does look like a banana that could have been too close by a freezer unit. Now thats what I do with my over ripwe bananas----put them in a baggie and freeze them. When I have enough, I make banana bread---the frozen ones thawed make the best banana bread( I work reak quick to oncorperate them in the batter as they don't looke nice).

THANKS to all my friends that gave my sister a emoticon!!! She did the C25K work out this morning! emoticon

After the whole month of being 2-3# higher than I have been, I finally got back down this morning. Thank goodness... I hate all this up an down! 1-1.5 #s is one thing but 3? puleaze...

Still cranking the crunches and other ST in the AM. Going to Curves tonight. Tomorrow will be on the emoticonin the AM, then off to dance lessons.

I am going to be dragging my butt on Saturday. I just found out last night one of our favorite callers is calling that night. A real hustle and move it caller. I tend to not plan food deliveries on dance nights... you guessed it, delivering food Saturday..augh

Hope everyone has a GREAT day!

YAY being back down to normal. Wish I could say the same for myself...but TOM is coming at end of week.
It'll be worth a little butt dragging to be dancing with your favorite caller.
Do some running for me on the treadmill. Perhaps I'll be back doing that one day.

My younger sister is back on SP w/ some prodding from me. She gave me her screen name and told me to kick her butt so I am going to do just that AND I want all my sparkly friends to help me! Her screen name is WANNABEAMILF, so please go write on her page send her goodies, etc.

Little family history, latent diabetes runs in our family, does not hit until usually in your 50's and it it only hits the women EVERY OTHER GENERATION. My sister and I are the generation to be hit. I remember as a youngster watching my grandmother give herself insulin shots emoticonnot for me sorry!

My Dr's always said to watch your weight and you can probably not be effected by this. Our mom always said this too. Also, our mother actually got this in her 50's. First time in many generations that it did not skip. She was overweight, but I would not say obese.

My seestor was very proud of me for shedding the weight, it gave her hope that she could shed it too. I have been gently nudging her but not gently anymore, since she gave me permission to kick her butt after all!!!

Weekend... Was NICE... We actually took a break from dancing. I did nothing on Friday night, except have too much emoticon

Went to Curves Sat morning and there was a Zumba class going on. Okay fine, I'll do it again! I have a confession to make. I want the Zumba instructors butt! I believe she is around my age and yes, I have butt envy...something to work on.... I also ran Saturday afternoon redoing the C25K program and it really is helping not to be staring at the display!

Got lots of errands done!

Saturday night we went to dinner emoticonyum. Sunday, checked on the horse and got a lot of computer work done.

This morning, back to my 170 crunches and I cranked out another C25K work out! WHOOT Let's go sparkly buddies!!!

Not where I want to be, but okay with that, and other musings

Friday, January 21, 2011

Okay.. so the emoticonshows 108 this morning and thought huh. Looked in the mirror and said 'I'm okay with that.' I like how I look, I don't 'feel' 108, which is usually a emoticonfeeling for me. So maybe, just maybe... I'm finally building more muscle? Would be nice since I've been doing 150+ crunches for the past few weeks!

I need a day off..sheesh! There is so much going on as of late and it's time to take a step off the social train and chillax baby. We have been dancing 3 times a week for the last 3 weeks! While we love it, we really need to get some stuff done around the house and I have tons of errands to do. That and I want to emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonespecially now that I have a new game plan!

Going to hit Eddie Bauer and return a gift that just 'isn't me' and either get another one of those shirts the my BF said looked really good on me, or something else. Of course, since I'll be in site of Under Armor, I'll just HAVE to stop there. I am taking Cindy's advice and just buying another compression shirt because, hey, I'm worth it baby! I still have no idea where my other one went... Murphy's Law, will find it over weekend once I purchase another one!

emoticon emoticonThere should be a law that negative temperatures should NOT be allowed. -5 this morning, that is just SO wrong. emoticon emoticon

ZUMBA! Loved it!!! There were some moves I could do real easy and others that made me feel like suck a dork!! But it was FAST! So in time, the movements will come. It's not that much, $25 for 13 work outs. If you have the opportunity, try it! Definitely something different, and I have been in a zone where I need something different!

I need to really go thru my closet. I keep pulling out sweaters to wear only to find they don't fit. Clean out, give away, declutter, that sorta thing.

Hmm what else can I muse about?

Oooh... I really want to do a few 5K's this year. I promised my BF though that I would not be competitive. I wonder if he'll think running 5K's as competitive or if just marathon training is competitive. hmmm

Well all my sparkly friends.. have a WUNDERBAR WEEKEND!! Stay warm and pain free!! I'll be in the garage with the coverette driver that never passes me ... as it's gonna be cold! emoticon

Clean out the closet is always good! Hubby had me do it last week and we got rid of 5 trash bags full of clothes. I love most everything left in my closet and feel like I only need to add a red shirt to complete my wardrobe. I am going to be doing the chill thing a little this weekend too! Have an awesome weekend.

Yes, chillax!!! Get some stuff done. Treat yourself to some Under Armor. You are worth it.
108, no worries. I'm 108 right now. We'll be twins.
I'm glad you had fun with the Zumba. Yes, it'll just take time to get the moves down. The way any sort of dancing is. You'll be a pro in no time.
It's a good idea to get rid of the stuff that doesn't fit. Leaves more room for stuff that does.
Have a fabulous weekend!!! Get some good emoticon and watch out for emoticon!
