Weekend recap

Monday, May 03, 2010

Well my fellow sparklers.. I certainly got my strength training in on Saturday!

It was a food delivery day and normally we pull 1 skid out of storage in 2 parts, roughly totaling 1800 #s. This Saturday we pulled out 2 skids + I was whipped out at the end of Saturday night. Thank goodness for crock pots!

Sunday I was a bum... really ached getting out of bed. Did some cleaning of dog rooms and then sat my butt on the breezeway floor and cleaned 2 end tables, 2 leather love seats and an antique sewing machine that stands in a cabinet. Oh and lots of laundry. That was the extent of my Sunday!

My BF is wonderful! I know you are all sick of hearing this I am sure. But my ex was a real jerk so this is such a wonderful change! We um, accidentally left 2#s of raw meat in a freezer, oh back on March 20th and this freezer has been unplugged since then and we decided to use it this past Saturday. My BF found the problem and CLEANED the freezer for me! I am still shocked he didn't leave it for me to clean when I got back from delivering food!

We are also OFF EXTENSION CORDS for the addition! Silly, it is going to take a while to get used to flipping switches for lights now! emoticon

Okay.. that was my recap. Just manual labor, no dancing, no running, no Curves. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Sounds like a great - if different - strength training work-out for you... and a great way to keep your body "guessing".

I am glad you had a great weekend! I had my little one's 1st communion so I did tons of running around and cleaning on Saturday and more running around playing hostess for his party afterwards on Sunday! I am still pooped but i am going to the gym in less than 10 minutes!!! WOO HOO!!!!

OK - I so should not have been eating my lunch when I read this, as I got a total visual on that unplugged freezer situation... emoticon...but then, it's a good appetite buster! So great of your BF! He's a keeper!

My weekend consisted of housework and laundry too. The weather sucked, so no rides for me emoticon. I am sure the sun will come out eventually - we had 25 days of rain in April, and so far for May we are 3 for 3...I may have to build an Ark!

Got a look today

Friday, April 30, 2010

It was pretty funny actually. I pulled out left overs from dinner last night and my scale.

Picked the fish out of the tray, put the tray on the scale and zero'd it out and added the fish.

BF 'WHAT are you doing?'

me 'Weighing my lunch!' Uh duh.. what does it LOOK like I'm doing?

BF 'What was it, a whole 4 oz? Are you doing that to count calories?'

me '3 actually and absolutely.'

Question----how much did the fish weigh?(haha) I couldn't help mysehad to ask. Thats a way to know exactly how much your getting. I have to make some changes, maybe I should start weighing instead of eyeballing, going to step on the scalr Saturday and know I'm NOT going to be a happy camper.

I think I finally have my hubby trained. Tonight he was like do you just want half of this (rice a roni) and I said I'd measure it out. Then he asked if I wanted my chicken on the plate or if I had to weigh it. This is like the first time in . . . okay maybe the first time since I started my journey. I know it irritates him somewhat but if he'd just let me dish up my plate I think we could both be happy. Good luck!

Exciting Thursday Sparklers!

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Well... not super exciting, but I got you to look right? Since you're here, you might as well read, comment and get a SPARK POINT.

Which by the way, I won 100 Spark Goodie points on the wheel this AM.

From yesterday...

No, the bread crumbs on the beans did not bother me thank goodness!

I had a emoticonwork out at Curves! I really cranked it out more on the running boards, basically heels were hitting my saggy butt emoticon but instead of my heart rate at 104, it was 118! emoticon still not where it should be according to age and weight.. but much closer! And the ab machine was actually GREEN most of the time. Usually it's more yellow-- as in you are not working to par yellow. we hate yellow.

The proof was in the results when done. Instead of burning 197 calories as the norm, it said I burned 237! And for the emoticontime, I got 100% on my ABS! emoticon Great work out at Curves.

I was LIGHT on calories till dinner and what I punched in was INSANE... I really don't think 1 serving of my beef stew is really 473 calories but oh well. So I was really at the top of my calorie intake. Okay I lied. I was OVER. For me to go over 1670 is so rare, so I'll just consider this a calorie cycling day.

Zeus smells great emoticon

I am SO disappointed that Siobhan was voted off so soon. She is amazing. My BF and I believe Crystal will win it but we thought the last three would be Crystal, Siobhan and Lee. Oh well.. we can't complain too much as we don't vote. I certainly hope we will hear Siobhan in the future. Like Daughtry. I did not see that year but I find it interesting how well he has done and I guess whoever won has done nothing? I didn't start watching till Season 6.

Tonight we are having dinner w/ friends. Hope everyone is having a great week!

I couldn't believe Siobhan was voted off either! how crazy was that. I didn't really want any of those three to go though.
Well done on the workout! My motivation is looooow at the moment. And your gym machines sound awesome, I want some of these green lights!

(That sounds cheesy lol but you did an awesome job pushing yourself it sounds like and that is truly exciting) You blog made me chuckle too- I like the part about you being at the "top" of your calorie ranges, buuut not really lol- can definitely relate there. Have an awesome day and keep up the great work and good attitude!

Happy Hump Day!!!

Howdy fellow Sparkler Friends!!

Ramblings of a Wednesday...

Let's see I drank WAY to much emoticon last night, but it was so good. I boycotted my emoticon.

I also wrestled w/ my 113 pound boy (Zeus, picture on my page) to walk up a doggie ramp to get a bath. I told him that we were in a HURRY. After all, Idol was on in 45 minutes! I was very careful to not hurt my shoulder, I growled back at him and told him he was NOT allowed to growl at his mother! Then he gets in the tub and has this silly grin, oh look a bathtub! Jerk! I did get him bathed and back home 10 minutes to spare. emoticon need to find that chart on how many calories bathing the dog is worth!

emoticonI just had bread crumbs. emoticon I thought it was cheese. oops. It was sprinkled on green beans and I probably consumed about the size of a sugar cube. Should be okay. Half of a emoticonwill do me in, hoping a sugar cube size won't! DUMB of me too. They had pesto potatoes too that looked good, but the guy confirmed there was flour in there. Too bad he didn't see me reach for the beans and say something!

Had great chicken! It had a mandarin orange, cilantro and red onion salsa on it. YUM.. I am going to make that at home one night. Just finished putting it in the nutrition tracker and lunch came in at 191 calories. eh gads... I'll need something to munch on later for sure!

Hoping the weather warms up soon so I can go power walking. 54 now, supposed to get to 60. Have 1.6 miles planned if it does. Going to Curves tonight too.

Anyone do Curves with the Smart Plan? Here I thought I was doing okay w/ my heart rate and I am not. I'm at 105 ish (yes I was being dense) and I am supposed to be 120-150. emoticon I am already RUNNING on the recovery boards, what else am I supposed to do? Maybe I'll try some jumping jacks! Will be interesting to see what I get to tonight.

Hope everyone has a great day!

You had me laughing about you getting Zeus up to get the bath, could just vision that. Thats why I take my dog to the groomer , she didn't like getting a bath ---now she does great for the groomer. Ya know sometimes you got to have a fun night and get a few more drinks than you should---keeps us wanting to come back and watch again.

GRNISHADE 4/28/2010 9:26PM

Calorie count on bathing depends on the dog and how many times she jumps out of the tub during the bath! I had to put my Kittie (75 pound lab cross who has to be picked up and PUT in the tub) back in the bath 7 or 8 times last Saturday!

LOL..... I can just picture the WWF match between you and Zeus. Glad to see you won and he got a shiny new outlook. Bummer about the green beans but everything else sounds fantastic. Not into American Idol anymore after Chris Daughtery got voted off ..... he should have won. Have a great workout and let's hope that the weather turns around as I could also use some emoticon

Too funny - you wrestling with a dog that weighs more than you! Hope you do okay with the bread crumbs, must be so hard to dodge all the hidden ingredients. I have a hard time with heart rate due to being on a beta-blocker, which slows my heart beat, so I can't go by heartrate. I have to more go by percieved rate of exertion. Have a great day!

Flooring pic's

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Ok.. I lightened them up!

Wall to the left is the chianti color, wall to right dusty rose

Wall to right is chianti and to the left is dusty rose. Basically the 'hallway' to the left of the pic is completely empty. We'll have my antique sewing machine in there and a wood burning stove eventually. In the winter, the patio set will come in here and there will be plenty of room.

trying to brighten them up. But it shows how much room there still is w/ the furniture in it!

It is about 500 square ft. Nice little breezeway eh?

Yes, very nice. Reminds me of the open basement of the home I grew up in (my father was a carpenter and built our home). Thanks for sharing the link with me. Is the big Daytona party gonna be held in this huge room (big screen at one end) or is the rest of the house just as expansive?
