the Good: Yesterday I rode and within a few minutes of asking him to come into a dressage frame, he DID! I was so pleased with my boy! This is a great accomplishment as two weeks ago it took 40 minutes, then 20, now we are down to 5. Awesome... so now we can move forward w/ our training. How great.
the Bad: Rent was due yesterday and it was not in the mailbox.
the UGLY: Renter didn't even call, I had to call her. She used rent money to bail her kid out of jail. Lovely. When I first started renting to her, she said she didn't believe in paying for her kids screw ups, etc. Oh, he's in his 30's?
They are so far behind now, there is no way they will catch up. I was wrong for letting it get this far, but she always came thru eventually, but I just can't see it anymore. My boyfriend is in agreement. I am serving her today. Will soon find out how much fun it is to take someone to court for eviction because I am sure she will not leave. sigh. so not looking forward to this.

Hi all! I had a great weekend, even though it was chock full of stuff!
Friday night we went dancing to our favorite caller and had a great time. Our recently graduated student (Nancy) came with. This was a new dancer graduation so we figured it would be mainstream and he was calling out Plus calls, which Nancy had no idea how to do! She was great, followed direction and we told her were to go! And as the caller is also our instructor, he saw was was happening and would do the call, then tell Nancy what to do, it was pretty funny.
Saturday I was moving around my heavy boxes, doing my 'on the job strength training'! That was at least 2 hours. Then I had to hustle to the barn for the horse dentist.
This is where my day gets really shocking.
Usually the horse dentists are older dudes. This guy was a really buff, young, still working out Marine. Lovely eye candy...
then, there was the vet. OMG what a WHACKO... I got this impression of him BEFORE he touched my horse and before I found out his name. It's Peabody. Honestly, I didn't think anyone actually had that name, I thought it was reserved for that cartoon character of Mr Peabody and Sherman the kid!
So we are going to give his joy juice, not many horses will put up with someone filing rough edges off their teeth w/o joy juice. And the vet is stating if he sees something up w/ my horse, he'll tell me. I'm like sure, no problem, figuring he means something like how is reacting to the joy juice, etc. but NO... He pulls his tail after is well into la-la land and his hind end does this little shift, which is normal.
So Dr Peabody is trying to tell me my horse has EPM! OMG he does NOT! What he did was a very common reaction to an unsuspected pull off balance while in la-la land. He goes and does it to the other side and doesn't move quiet as much. the vet is saying he's stronger on this side, and I'm like, no dip-****, he just saw it coming this time. So he's trying to get me to pay $160 for drugs to treat him!
I spent big bucks on 's vet check and my vet did an extensive neurological check on the horse, he does NOT have EPM and even if he might, I would certainly research it some before I forked over $160 to this whacko. So for the rest of the time I was there, he kept making comments about EPM. I'm like DUDE, go away, you bother me and you're interrupting me gazing at the eye candy...
So I send a text to my trainer after he leaves inquiring on this vet and she came back that he is a raving NUT job and tries to tell everyone their horse has EPM. I knew he was a whacko....
EPM is really bad, if your horse gets it, you can basically kiss riding them goodbye as it damages the nerves in the back to the hind end and they can just be walking along and they just colapse on you.
Saturday night we went dancing AGAIN...
Sunday I rode both the boys. Biff was acting like he was 5 yrs old! He puffed himself up and was doing this collected trot and acted like he was going to explode at any time. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it, but I needed both hands to hold him, so this is what I took when he decided to finally walk.
We went cross county jumping and it was quite fun. then he kicked it into high gear and did a nice gallop back. I wouldn't let him buck though, he certainly wanted to!!
Then off to see and I got pictures of his girlfriend! Not the best pic but really funny. is a BIG horse, he's is 16.3 at the withers, bottom on his neck/top of his back for those non horsey people. So 67" high. He looks like a peanut next to his girlfriend!
While the show team was at an event that I didn't have the time to get to, I decided to pop over a fence. It was super tiny, like 6" X, but he trotted over it w/o hesitating and when he actually started jumping it, I asked him to canter over it, which he did twice! Absolutely no hesitating at all, that's what I wanted to see! Then we went to the hay field and he actually turned up the pace a bit at his canter, it was really pretty strong and still nothing compared to what I know he CAN do... I was thankful he stopped!
Will be at the barn after work today as well..
Got a run in this morning, pretty short, only had time for 20 minutes, but it's better than nothing! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
This is absolutely hilarious!

wowser! What a crazy week it was last week! I was approached to be a survey panelist for my new car, Buick Verano. This is the first year of the car, so the need actual owner input. I had a flash of the Ford Focus owners being walked into a press conference and cautiously said yes. That I believe was on the 4th? Study was to start Tuesday the 8th, thru the 12th.
Okay so the 12th is a HUGE food delivery for me day. I usually get 2 skids of food in, about 2400 pounds, but this order I have 4 skids, so 4800 pounds. I came to realize that my truck is not large enough to bring back the food I need this Saturday
So I'm jogging peoples orders around for those that can wait a week, etc. Just lots to do.
So Thursday comes along and they tell me the study starts TODAY and must be done by Saturday. are you out of your MIND??? I get home on Thursday to find a suction cup mount for an iPod and an iPod Touch, both for me to keep after survey. This is cool
If you ever get an iPod, don't do the set up on the iPod! This took forever and it kept stating it couldn't access iTunes, blah blah blah. I finally got it to initialize via being plugged into the computer and doing it. This took quite some time. I was tired and cranky and still worried about the weekend delivery, I didn't have time to record my first video.
wow.. they were all over me the next day. sheesh... I explained I had problems initializing the ipod but was going to do the assignment that night. To all you Sparkers out here that do video blogs, my hats off to you! I felt so dumb and self conscience but I finally got it done.
Saturday went off without a hitch! Shocking actually! So I recorded a more of the videos.
I found an interesting button on the iPod touch for reversing what 'side' the video is taken from, new to me. Ironically though, it flipped the videos upside down when uploaded to the computer I hoped they could flip them over because I didn't want to do the video again!
Then there are 3 assignments where I have to walk around the car, get in the car, then go over the radio. Well the first one went fine but when I got in the car, it wouldn't work! The iPod just froze when you would hit to start recording. augh. So I went to reset it to factory standards to see if that would help. Um, remember how long that took??? sigh
I finally got all the recordings done. Thankfully they extended the date to Sunday. I did my video of me driving the car coming back from the barn. oh my, I had hard hat head! I'm sure there were people in this study that got their hair done and manicures and made picture perfect videos. My videos... life was involved!
Back to more interesting stuff... I gave Biff the day off, but gave him lots of apples. I rode around the hay field and actually took him alongside the busy highway. The cars bothered him a little more than I thought they would, and he went trotting off and didn't want to stop, but I brought him back down to a walk and decided cantering around the hayfield was NOT a good idea that day!
Last Friday, my just wasn't a good run. I cut it shorter than I wanted to, lots of walk breaks, it was just blah. Monday morning I had no blah feeling when I and it was a kick*ss run! Was pretty much a 9.32 pace, sweet!! I only stopped once to take a picture of these gorgeous Poppies on the side of the road. This is one bed, there was three large beds of them.
then I got a closer up shot and the sun was shining directly on it, so it's a bit odd
this is along the road of a farm where the house is gone, chain w/ no tresspassing sign over driveway. I saw a truck there once, if I see it again, I'll stop and ask if I can get a plant, they are obviously wild and I doubt they care about them.
I have a lesson with tonight Hope everyone has a great day!
