I didn't run today because....

Friday, February 10, 2012

the emoticonwent off and I usually hit snooze a few times then we get up. Asked my BF if he was ready to get up and he looked at the time and kinda groaned out that I was starting the day early.

emoticonyup

then there was a sigh and a pause and then I heard don't forget we are going to be out late tonight.

emoticonwell I'm thinking yes we are. But I was up early and emoticonWednesday morning and we were out late Wednesday. So I thought about it some more and realized HE was emoticonand we are going to be doing power dancing tonight and Sunday. So I figured a longer run on Saturday would work perfectly into this schedule!

So I set the emoticon for 20 more minutes and let him sleep. emoticonI'm so nice! He actually spent most of his day welding and that is really hard on the eyes.
Now if I can't get a emoticonin tomorrow.. I'll be emoticonmyself.

And in other news... It's like I'm in a snow globe right now! Big fat emoticonflakes swirling around but not sticking. Hope it doesn't stick, I want that emoticon outside!

Have a great weekend all!

Glad to see another Lake County Sparker posting! Wish we could get our team motivated and active!! It's cold out there today - I will be hitting the basement exercise room before heading out to a baby shower at Tacos El Norte this afternoon. Will require all my willpower to not indulge...but my plan is to get in a long workout, and have lunch at home with my BH...then I won't be hungry and resist whatever they throw at me today!!!

Hope you had a great weekend so far!!! My to-do list isn't getting any smaller, but I did go new treadmill shopping yesterday and have it narrowed down (just have to bite the bullet) and got my baby shower gifts made (last minute). The house cleaning is still suffering - need to find a new cleaning person (last one disappointing).

Talk later! emoticon

Let's hope the weather man is wrong and you get that run in on Saturday. WE haven't had much snow in Mpls. this year and it looks like that dirty time of spring, but I'll take it ----it's much better than all that snow we had last winter. They keep promising us snow now and then but so far nothing to do much about. Have a great weekend running and dancing

I know how you feel about the snow. I love snow, but at the same time, I know I can't run outside then. It's always easier to head out than it is to head down to the basement and the treadmill. Have fun this weekend!

Nice quote! Good for you changing up your routine! Otherwise it gets stale and your body gets used to it. Best Back exercise is swimmer, its been recently featured on Spark e-mails, shouldn't be too hard to find, I also remember reading about an article on back exercises -look under the fitness header and maybe special concerns, you can browse all the titles in there quickly to see if one is on the back..

I am a work in progress!

Friday, February 03, 2012

Sorry for the lack of blogs, have been busy!

emoticonis back on track! Ran 3 times this week. Once on the emoticonand last two times outside. With no snow it is much easier to run out in my area.

emoticon emoticon emoticonis on track! Been very good at 2-3 times a week.

So yesterday, I stop at this stable to drop off a bunch of tack I no longer need and the barn owner is interested in. Note, my ex boyfriend boards his horse here. We broke up on good terms and are still friends.

So we hadn't seen each other in like 2.5 yrs I think? So he keeps asking me what is new. Um nothing except Turtle, but you knew about that. And he keeps asking. Are you SURE there isn't something new? So finally I just threw out there well I'm emoticonnow, I suppose that's new?

He goes 'THAT'S IT! I can tell!'
emoticon emoticon emoticon
So I mentioned this to my BF later that night and said I was surprised that he was just noticing the weight loss, I thought he had seen that before. My BF mentioned that I was in process of losing weight, I wasn't finished when he saw me last.

Oh. then I emoticonand said I'm still not finished! I'm a work in progress, like a piece of fine art, there will always be something to sculpt! And that's OK!

Have a great one all my emoticon emoticon emoticon

I no longer hate my Treadmill!

Monday, January 30, 2012

So Sunday morning I planned on a emoticon after breakfast emoticon, it was 24 and 8 mph winds. doable.

After breakfast... I glanced outside and saw emoticon blowing pretty hard, almost horizontally! checked the weather again and the winds are now 20 mph, NOT DOABLE!

So I grumbled and moaned and figured I would just use the dreadmill...

I set my MP3 player on, and started off. I put a post it note over the timer last year as it was also such a hardship to see that so SLOWLY tick away. I felt like just running and try not to be miserable that I was not outside.

Before I realized it, 4-5 songs had been played and I'm still running. I would slow down to a slow jog for about 1/4 - 1/2 mile then back up to a faster speed. I was amazed and how easy this was, yes, I was running on an incline, but more of the reflection that how much my running from last year has changed my current abilities!

I actually was smiling and enjoying my time on the emoticon When I was done, I was surprised to see I ran almost 40 minutes as I was thinking only 25 minutes had gone by.

While my mileage the last two months has been really low due to weather, sickness, holidays, at least now I know that February will not be a loss as the emoticon is not so much of a chore anymore! emoticon

Great to hear that you had such a positive experience with your "dreadmill" this time! I've never thought to cover up the timer before, but that's because I use it to help push myself to run that extra 30s or minute.

PALOMINOGIRL3 1/31/2012 3:47PM

That's awesome! I, too, find that covering the timer up helps tremendously... I'd rather get lost in the music and lose track of time than watch each second (slowly) pass.

You got a little giggle out of me with "dreadmill".

I've run a treadmill twice in the past 3 weeks and didn't hate it at all (except for the lack of scenery!) which surprised me. It still feels more like "work" to me than running outside but at least I'm not totally opposed to doing it now. Great job for being open to it.

Love this! I used to love my TM, but now I really enjoy outside. However, I'm starting to dig it again because it is one place I can totally jam to some good tunes and feel safe. I don't have be so observant & aware of my surroundings. I don't have to be mindful of every car and person I see. I can just relax, run and enjoy some good music without compromising my safety.

Can not believe how stressful the Lululemons was!

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Wow emoticon The products are gorgeous but it was really hard for me to swallow spending so much money on items at this store. I also believe that knowing I need to purchase a new hard hat for when I start to show emoticonwas adding to this.

What the big deal on a hat you ask? Well it has to be approved and the approved helmets range $150-500+. No the TroxelŽ Sport Original Lightweight Schooling Helmet that is $30 is not approved!

The other factor is I have picked up running shirts for $3 (love Kohl's clearance) and Under Armor at factory outlet prices, so to spend $65-100 on shirts was beyond me. I also have a ton of shirts.

Pants, I really have enough pants too. Also, their reviews mostly stated if your short, they won't work for you.

so I settled on a jacket. I don't have a jacket. I do have a hoodie and that hoodie has been working just fine. Whatever, I don't NEED a jacket but I talked myself into a jacket. I found a cute one in pink with reflective lines on it. perfect. tried it on, not bad, etc. It is on final sale for $119. Beats the $140 one I was looking at. I did find others on sale for $99 but they were more hoodie like, I was going for wind resistant.

so I'm looking around at other stuff as well. I find their shorts. They are $4 more than my gift certificate. emoticon emoticonhmm so I grab two different shorts and head to the dressing room.

Really liked the shorts! put the jacket on again and checked in the emoticon and the deal is OFF! It gave me a huge bubble butt! I haven't been running my butt off to have some jacket look like I have a huge caboose! I was bummed. emoticonI couldn't even find the jacket I wanted at the store.

So.. I got a pair of shorts. emoticonI am so glad that is over! I suppose I would have been able to find something for sure if I was into Yoga!

So glad you were able to find something! Most people are buying their stuff for the looks, not to actually work out in. They seem to be able to command their prices and the customers don't seem to care... I have a few of their items, which I use to work out in. My Mom gave me one of their very expensive hoodies and I love it as its heavy duty, comfy and warm, so very important here when we have more colder weather than warmer..
What a pain about the helmet. That is so strange its approved for training, but not for showing, would like to know what the difference would be? That just doesn't make sense :(

I have the same problem with spending money. I'm due to get a new pair of pants and shoes and I've been looking around for the best deal. I found a pair of $20 reflective capris from JCPenney. The only brand I could find with a drawstring that weren't low rise on the hips.
I like to go to the mall or outlet to try on the clothes/shoes and see what sizes I wear that way I can shop online and avoid the crowds.
