God is awesome and He loves us totally, completely, unconditionally. He has given the life of His Son Jesus for us to be reunited with Him and to live a healthy, whole, prosperous and productive life. Being overweight and unhealthy is NOT His plan for us - let's not just talk the talk but live the life (this means walking the walk daily, continually in every area of our life).
My finances, employment, relationships, emotions, health and education are in God's hands and I purposefully commit to obeying His direction in all of these areas.
Why would God say 'well done good and faithful' servant, if I am not DOING anything - in the words of Big Black (from the Rob and Big tv show) it's time to 'DO WORK'!

Please feel free to use and insert your name where appropriate:
Isaiah 62 (NKJV)
For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace,
And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,
Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
And her salvation as a lamp that burns.
2 The Gentiles shall see your righteousness,
And all kings your glory.
You shall be called by a new name,
Which the mouth of the LORD will name.
3 You shall also be a crown of glory
In the hand of the LORD,
And a royal diadem
In the hand of your God.
4 You shall no longer be termed Forsaken,
Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate;
But you shall be called Hephzibah,[a] and your land Beulah;[b]
For the LORD delights in you,
And your land shall be married.
5 For as a young man marries a virgin,
So shall your sons marry you;
And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
So shall your God rejoice over you.
6 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
They shall never hold their peace day or night.
You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent,
7 And give Him no rest till He establishes
And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8 The LORD has sworn by His right hand
And by the arm of His strength:
“Surely I will no longer give your grain
As food for your enemies;
And the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine,
For which you have labored.
9 But those who have gathered it shall eat it,
And praise the LORD;
Those who have brought it together shall drink it in My holy courts.”
10 Go through, Go through the gates!
Prepare the way for the people;
Build up, Build up the highway!
Take out the stones, Lift up a banner for the peoples!
11 Indeed the LORD has proclaimed
To the end of the world:
“Say to the daughter of Zion,
‘Surely your salvation is coming;
Behold, His reward is with Him,
And His work before Him.’”
12 And they shall call them The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the LORD;
And you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.
And it IS so!

New King James Version (NKJV)
5 Do not trust in a friend;
Do not put your confidence in a companion;
Guard the doors of your mouth
From her who lies in your bosom.
6 For son dishonors father,
Daughter rises against her mother,
Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.
7 Therefore I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me.
8 Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The Lord will be a light to me.
9 I will bear the indignation of the Lord,
Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He pleads my case
And executes justice for me.
He will bring me forth to the light;
I will see His righteousness.
10 Then she who is my enemy will see,
And shame will cover her who said to me,
“Where is the Lord your God?”
My eyes will see her;
Now she will be trampled down
Like mud in the streets

I want a REAL, authentic, life changeing encounter with God in EVERY area and aspect of my life, including the sparkilicious weight-loss journey that I am on.
The Bible mentions the eyes of our understanding being opened or enlightened, and there is a line in a well-known Christian song that says "open the eyes of my heart Lord I want to see You".
I came across this prayer and have adapted it as my new daily 'affirmation', feel free to pray it with me, as often as you like. And may ou lives be enhanced bit by bit by the Loving, Ever Present Merciful Triune God.
I admit that I have come to both love and hate the word "diet."
On the one hand, it represents hope for change. On the other, it's like a sign flashing "Failure ahead!" I don't want to embark on another faulty plan, Lord. I want to embark on a journey with You that is led by You and depends on Your power. I can do nothing on my own!
Show me the path that will enable me to change. Show me, as only You can,
what works for me, what is healthy for me. I want to think of this venture in positive terms, Lord--not that I am signing up to be miserable or in want. I want to learn to feed my body what it truly needs when it truly needs it. And to feed my soul with the Bread of Life--You!
Today I place my future, my failures, my setbacks, all of my hopes and plans into Your hands. There alone will I find meaning and true success in my life.

Father God, right now, I, Caroline Jennifer Deleveaux, surrender to You my temptation to binge, to rebel, to misuse the food You've blessed me with. Fill me instead with Your Spirit and grace and grant me the power and will to STOP indulging when I am no longer hungry.
And I thank You Father God, that by Your Spirit, within me, I have the ability to resist the urge to overeat and/or eat unhealthilytoday. Amen.
