Good Day Sparkfam! Today was a decent day, I did eat the cookies & bought the shoes too. lol I tried not to eat too many of them & my co-worker keeps telling me to diet after the holidays. WHAT??!! She don't know though that I am not going to take that approach again. Everything that I gain with my workouts & eating better make me feel 100%!
Speaking of eating, today I tried squash. Guess what? It was that bad at all. I was surprised too. Now for those of you that don't know me, I eat corn, greens, broccoli, peas, carrots, tomatoes, onions, corn & green beans. Everything is eeewwww!!! You might like a bevy of veggies but not me. I am grown up picky eater. lol Thats good though because that makes me not eat everything in sight. I just too much of the same things which is some junk. Maybe too much.....
Today's workout was walking & doing the treadmill. I wanted to do step aerobics but I am so sleepy from this past big birhtday weekend for my hubby, I am ready to rest.

Good Tuesday Sparkfam! Its a windy day in the Windy City....I mean, my porch chairs were blowing all over the place. I finally brought them inside. I got up early and did All Star Workouts Kendall with weights for 60mins. I had a good time doing the workout & hated that it had to end. I wish I had more time so I could've done the treadmill but alas I had to cook breakfast. Yes, made pancakes for me & my son & oatmeal for the hubby. I wanted to Spark while I cooked but the internet was done. The gale winds must've blown something apart but ATT must have come out & fix the problem so now I'm Sparkin! WOOHOO!!
So last week, the food from Thanksgiving just kept getting better and better as the days passed. The ham is now but a bone & I wished I would've learned how to make soup from bones but Shadow is loving the pickings. Today at work I ordered enough food for 45pp for under $325 and guess what? Only 30pp showed up & they didn't seem very hungry. I got juice & milk to bring home. Along with apples & oranges, italian beef, hamburger & salad. I could keep myself for going to the grocery store over the weekend cause I could've saved that money. I even brought home a few croissant rolls & made my hubby a italian beef on a croissant, sweet & hot peppers. I don't know what to eat? I want a pb&j on honey wheat or piece of baked chicken? I will decide soon enough.....
Now about taking stocking, I was thinking back to the holidays of old when I used to eat my entire meal on a saucer or dessert plate. I would eat a hardy breakfast and then eat my sweet potatoes, ham and stuffing. Then I would be done. How did I get to point where sometimes I am always bonbarded with thoughts of food or what to eat? I did eat a lot of junk in between my meals but it wasn't a daily occurrence. So I am trying to design my plate like the new nutritional suggested plate, more brown rice, veggies & protein. I wanna be full and not have to suffer from feeling hungry. So with one holiday down and two more to go, where can you take stock of your current situation and change it?

Happy Thanksgiving Sparkfam! Its here, I was up cooking my ham, sweet potatoes, turkey dressings, southern style turnip/mustard greens & 4 sweet potato pies. I did have to taste a few things in order to make sure they are table worthy & they passed. lol So you could say I was pretty busy last night but this morning I got up & started Sparkin. This will remind me to count my blessings today past & present & not google gooble gooble. I am also up earlier enough to get 60min workout of abs & treadmill which will help my mouth be mindful of all the work my body did to help resist the urge to splurge. Remember the average American will eat 4500+ calories on Thanksgiving/Christmas. So how much will the average Sparker eat on these two holidays? On an average day I eat between 1400 & 1800 calories based on how hard my weekly workouts are. So I am going to slim down my breakfast which will consist of orange juice, milk & cinnamon toast. Then lunch & dinner will be a combo, ham, chicken, sweet potato pie, stuffing & greens all in moderation. I won't have 13 pieces of ham & turkey but I always like to have a taste on my plate on Thanksgiving. I don't like a full plate I never really have. So me myself I plan on eating close to 3000 calories.
Having said that, I am so blessed to be here with my family & friends today & everyday. I am thankful on a daily basis. For the little things, so much so, that the larger blessings actually blow mind. So today, I want you to count your blessings & hugs your loved ones as if this may be the very last time you will see them. Filling the atmosphere with love & kindness.
