Happy Tuesday . . .

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Happy Tuesday Sparkfam!! Its CCCCOOOOLLLLLDDDD & windy here in Chicago! I mean, I can feel the wind coming through the cracks under the couch. brrrrrrr Anyho, I had an appointment with At&t for a new phone line. They never said whether it would be a morning or afternoon appointment so I had to just sit & wait. He finally got here & it was 1:40pm & he was here for 15minutes! He also said that I was all set & there was no charge!! WOOHOO!! Hallelujah!! Why do they sit outside your door for an additional 30minutes before they leave from in front of your door. I don't too much care cause I got a signed document saying, "no charge!" Woohooo & Hallelujah!!

I got up about noonish & made breakfast but snacked on crumbled cookies til it was ready. Once it was ready I was too full from the crumbs. I shouldn't be so greedy. . . . So I mapped out what I was going to eat but now I'm thinking no cause the sodium would be too much for the day. I had tortilla chips, pico de gallo & a taco for lunch, spaghetti & baked salmon for dinner & yogurt & red vines for snacks.

I didn't get my tae bo done cause I've a lazy bum. I'm not mad at me some times you just have to relax. I watch Oprah yesterday & it was actually a good show rather than her normal format. I had given up on Oprah but she is trying to redeem herself. The show was about racism & how far we had come since Dr King. I really had to listen to his speech over again & it really makes me want to be & do better. He called us to love, do & serve, the same thing the bible teaches us, so what are you doing today to make for a better tomorrow?

God bless & let's make it happen!

Dee

Hello Sister!!! Relaxing is a must. I tell you that ALL the time. Don't I? lol
How you doin? I've given up on Oprah. Sorry. Well her show. She's a good business woman. Made millions upon millions. God Bless Her and Keep Her in His Love.

Yes love is the way. Girl I started on the weekend and I felt so wonderful giving to someone else. It was a blessing and the Lord blessed me for doing that. I am so happy to be learning that His Love in Me is the Answer to those around me who are dying without Him in their lives.
God Bless You and that man probably was sitting there eating his Red Vines lol emoticon
Enjoy your night!
Love ya

Hump Day . . . .

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Good Day Sparkfam!! Its a brisk but very sunny day here in Chicago. I mean the sun reflection off the snow is almost blinding. I guess I could scrap up a few bucks for a car wash to get some of the much off my truck? Had the grandson last night & children are outrageously funny. I was trying to coax him to take a bath or shower & I told him he didn't smell very fresh & needed a shower & his reply was "thank you." I thought that was hysterical if we could all look at life like. Instead of taking a comment on our hygiene to be offensive, well our hygiene can be an assault on the air others breathe. lol Just trying to make you smile.

Last night to get the ball rolling, I made oatmeal & put that & my chili in containers to go for today. See how I was thinking. . .Yeah, we can make it happen in the little ways. I didn't want to feel rushed this morning especially since I had to get me, my youngest son & Israel dressed to get out the door by 9:30am. I did 2 better than that this morning, I got up, watched Joyce Meyers & then did Cathe Step Blast & Cathe Legs & Glutes. I thought I still had sleep in my eye but apparently not. Somebody must've told my body that is was hump day & the sister was humpin!! I felt accomplished until the morning air hit me like ton of bricks but I pressed on. Izzy had no gloves & put his hands in his pockets his dad has them in his truck which was absolutely no good to me. So I made to daycare, undressed him & signed him & was mean to a few of the kids but they deserved. lol Got to work & now I'm sleepy. I'm doing my work I ate my oatmeal & added cinnamon, which is something cause I don't go too far out of my range but it supposed to good for you so I tried it. My co-worker brought me an orange, I drank some of my bolthouse real fruit juice & some apple juice. I did have some red vines & fishes but I don't feel guilty. I've been searching the net on healthier options of my own recipes & ways to add more fruits & veggies to my daily intake. I feel on fire for my health & maybe its the new year but whatever it is I wanna hold on to til 2012!

Family its Hump Day & time to shake, move & groove to your favorite tune. . .

God bless & enjoy everyday!!

oatmeal is do good for you. I've tried to eat it everyday.....but the 6 y/o child is rebelling. So I will try for at least 3 days a week. The kids are still out of school since monday past. The snow came and left 6 inches. That is a lot for us. We rarely get snow here. Kids are happy mama is not! emoticon

Hello Mrs. Dee. How are you? I heard the snow was all day on tuesday. Has it stopped? I still can't imagine you being a grandmother but you are a good one. Praise the Lord for Great Women as yourself. You are doing a great job. I wish I had some of those fishes. The red ones right? But I'm straight. Had oatmeal myself and cinnamon is great for you especially diabetics. You stay safe out on those streets and keep doing what you doing. Thanks for reading my entry. I appreciate you!

sounds like a great time with your grandson, yes, it's fun watching them and listening to what they have to say, the Lord has truly blessed us with grandkids, I have 4 of my own, 3 girls and 1 boy, a wide range in ages, 19, 16 and 4 years and 1 toddler at 20 months, the boy is the youngest...I sure keep busy with helping my daughter with the 2 youngest, had many sleepovers and love every moment just as you did with your grandson. Keep up the great work with your diet and exercise goals. I see you enjoy Joyce Meyers like I do...Have a great day and week, thanks for sharing a great blog.

Happy Sunday . . . .

Sunday, January 09, 2011

Good Sunday Sparkfam!! Its a wonderful day here in Chicago & I had a great weekend!! Friday, I left work early to pick my hubby up from work seeing that he hit a pot hole & the entire tire came off the rim. So lucky me I had to get up from my warm bed & take him to work. Grant, I don't punch a clock, I'm kinda salaried so when I told him to get out of the house & go to work his response was smart. I didn't brush my hair or teeth & was barely clothed but I took him & after him arguing with himself back & forth did he finally hush & got there 2minutes before being late. I know, I am a decent wife cause I should've taken my time but he would've gotten written up. I went to pick him up & we went to McDonalds to get chicken nuggets cause my grandson was coming over & he loves nuggets. We also went to KFC to get chicken wings & made it home. For the life of me, this is the first time in a long time, that I didn't feel like my weekend escaped me. I mean I thought it was 9pm & it was 6:30pm! Seriously I was trippin out. My grandson didn't want to leave so I played Wii with him & tried to get him all tired out but he wasn't going. lol

Saturday, I woke up early & made breakfast before 9am which is rare cause normally eat breakfast around 1pm. So we played on the computers then he played Wii & then he was getting cranky so it was nap time. His mom & dad came to get him around 4pm & I was making my famous tacos but they had none. More left for the boys (hubs & 2sons) I had 1 chicken taco, my youngest had 2chicken & 1 steak, my oldest had 3 steak tacos & hubs had 3chicken tacos. We had tortilla chips & salsa as sides & they were delicious since I used pico de gallo. The onions & green bell peppers aroma filled the whole house & tasted as strong too.

This morning we woke up & got dressed for church. The boys went together but I went to my god mother's church. We spent some time together but she wanted to go & sit down & eat but I wasn't hungry. I know I know I should've went but I know I could sit there & drink a beverage & not eat & its not pretty. So I told her next time we will definitely go out & sit down & spend time together. I have got to get better with spending time with her cause she has been there for me since I can remember. I would say at least 4 or 5 years old.

It was a beautiful day filled with the word of God & blessing His wonderful name!! I got loads of walking in earlier today as I hit the mall & a few stores parking far from my the store & getting my walk on. Just totally grateful for being here today! I got home baked some salmon, sautéed some chicken, baked some chicken, made some chili & broccoli. Its not much but it should hold us til at least Wednesday-Thursday. I pray so, I don't like coming home to cook unless its easy, like frying chicken or making tacos.

God bless & enjoy this wonderful week Sparkfam!!

Happy Monday Dee!!! Great weekend! You are a Blessing! Love this Blog and made me hungry. My stomach is growling now since I only ate a cup of yogurt. I prepared chili on Sunday too and broc. lol Turkey and Black bean chili and made a small pan of cornbread. Great Sunday...snow and rain and cold. Still cold but snow is gone. These...some of these people in TX do not know how to drive in snow. They don't know how to drive safely in sprinkles. Missed Spark on Sunday. Too cold to come to this library. I can give it a break on my Lord's Day.
Enjoy the Week!
Much Luv!

How Much?

Thursday, January 06, 2011

Good Day Sparkfam! Its a brisk but extremely sunny day here in Chicago & I'm in high spirits! Did I thank you guys for all your support & for helping me when I feel I need support too. You guys are the best cheer leading squad around!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonYEAH ME!! WOOHOO!

I woke up this morning feeling like someone slipped me a mickey. That means they drugged me somehow? So needless to say, I laid in bed until 9am & then got up to rush out to work without breakfast & bottle of milk & a hurried piece of grilled KFC chicken for lunch. I was got to work feeling sleepy and tired, I don't if I've told you guys but I am really fatigued lately. I also have been have an ache in my shoulder so I have self-diagnosed myself with walking pneumonia. Why? I had it when I was child and while I don't have a fever or cough, I'm tired & achy. Not achy or tired from working out either. I am making an appointment to have my doctor listen to my chest & see what goes with that. I have had a cough a mucus every other week but I don't have a cold or feel congested. Maybe I am being silly but I'll just have it checked out. lol

So I am at work going through my emails and decided to take the "real age" test. I will be 42 in April but my real age would be 38. Now if I could workout less, lose more weight, take a vitamin e supplement & eat more potassium & eat more fish or take a Omega 3 supplement that would probably take it down another 5 years. I sat here feeling good but wondering how much is my health worth to me? I mean, couldn't buy more fruits & veggies, buy more foods filled potassium, eat more fish? Then I went to Target got me some bananas & a bottle of bolthouse real juice & strawberries. I got a lettuce too. By the time I was done I had spent almost $40. Which isn't surprising to me at all. I should allot for fresh fruits and vegetables weekly for me & the family always.

I did walk today for 60mins & tonight after making steak & chicken tacos & chili. I will be doing Vinyasa Yoga for 60mins once I get everyone else taken care of.

So how much is your health worth to you?

You don't need a membership to a gym everything we could possibly need is available to us here on Sparkpeople the rest is inevitably up to us. . . .Remember to celebrate the small things everyday!

God bless Sparkfam!!

Dee

It does cost to get healthier but the end result pays for itself. Hope you are feeling better soon. The gym isn't for me. Too many men hitting on me. Could not workout for roving eyes all over me.

Girl I wish you lived near me. the fresh fruit and vegetable markets are amazing and cheap. You gotta have some by you. They are all owned by Greeks. The only one I know that is halfway close to you is Stanley's, on Elston & North Ave. or Ashland & North Ave.

No pneumonia, but doc did give him an inhaler. Taking care of yourself is so worth it! Thanks for the reminder. Hope all goes well at the Doctor. Keep us informed.
