Gettin Back Into the Habit

Tuesday, December 28, 2010

Happy Tuesday Sparkfam!! I am sitting here on bed not working out but sparking. I need to get busy doing my workout. But first things first, I need to go the Post Office & mail some bills. I don't know what is going on with mailing my bills but its not taking anywhere from 8-15 days before they get it. Now mind you I used mail a bill today & it would hit my bank by Thursday. So its a win/lose situation. Meaning my pay check will get there on Friday & if the post it tomorrow it may be a insufficient funds fee. I used to get them all the time but now I am working in overdrive to prevent them. I am doing well.

So I have fallen out of the habit of working out like I use to. I need to get back into the habit again. It won't take anything but except for me to get up & just do it. I know I love to workout so it won't be too hard for me.

New Year's resolution is the same as always to build this person that is me everyday. What is your resolution to you?

God bless & enjoy everyday!

Merry Christmas Sparkfam. . .

Friday, December 24, 2010

So the day is winding up & we finished shopping & now just laying back for a minute. I have a few presents to wrap but I don't wanna. . . Do I really have too? Can't I just put it on the couch & they find it when they wake up? Hopefully we can make it to church early morning service & open gifts afterwards. So Merry Christmas Sparkfam:

I know we all delight in receiving but I delight in giving. So I pray you all have a blessed Christmas & remember the true reason for the season:

God bless & no peeking. . . .

Brrrr Baby Its Cold Outside. . .

Thursday, December 23, 2010

So Sparkfam its been one of those days here in Chicago. First I would like to say, that I have been having a blessed week, filled with happiness & the joy of the Lord! I have been getting a lot done & actually had a few things that I needed to do. So I have been holding out & buying few gifts as possible for my kids & walking by faith. Then I got a blessing of $350 & I was so excited, then of course a ticket my son got $50 so I was bummed that they wouldn't let me contest it but I will pay it. I also had to pay a portion of his graduation from high school fees. So then I went & picked out my new furniture set (just a couch & love seat) its gorgeous too. They delivered it & then my precious uncle sent me Christmas dinner and 2 sides!!

He actually purchased it through Honey Baked Ham Co. I got a ham, roasted turkey, assorted cheese cake (YUK!), side of green bean casserole & sweet potato souffle. I was out done!! Then we had our Christmas party at work & almost everyone exchanged gifts. We had breakfast: scrambled eggs, irish sausages, bacon, hash brown, did I say bacon? Blueberry pancakes, mimosas, orange juice & man was it good!! My boss handed us Jewel gift cards for $100! So I am not finished but then I get home BAM, my heat is broke. My pilot light is lite but its not producing any heat. So I put on a portable heater after trying to turn it off & on, checking the fuses (man, I am almost a do it yourselfer) I turned on the oven. The hubby came home & put to wires together & it was on like popcorn! God is good, I mean, I have been thankful but it does lend itself to a new meaning when you stand in need. I was a little put off that I didn't have heat but I came to myself thinking of all the homeless we have downtown Chicago. Leaving under Lower Wacker Drive not wanting to go to shelters & I thank God & prayed for them.

So it might be cold outside but I am blessed!

What are you thankful for this Christmas?!!

God bless you all & enjoy everyday!!

If you're in Chicago and want to help the homeless guys, I know where they hang out!!! From when I drove a limo, I can tell you the exact location to leave food or stuff they will really appreciate it!!! It is an overhang on Franklin Street right under the Eisenhower Expressway. Literally under it. They all go under there with their sleeping bags. Occasionally the cops would come and kick them out but not that often.
Merry Christmas!!!

If not for your son getting the ticket and your heater breaking down, it sounds like an awesome day! That was very nice of your uncle to send that food to you Dee! and I would love to work where you work! sounds like a lot of fun and the food they served sound delish! I am thankful for everything I have , I am very lucky. I feel bad for the people who are homeless or do not have it as good as I do. Have a Good day and keep up the awesome work! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Surviving Saturday . . .

Saturday, December 18, 2010

Good Day Sparkfam!! What a wonderful Saturday I had & still having. Well its still cold but warmer than it has been. So that means getting doing shopping & preparing for the holiday. So I bought 2 cute little bottles of wine for my bosses. One had a label of Mad Housewife & the other was a nice Pinot Noir. I buy wines for their label's but I prefer a semi-sweet wine like peach & blackberry every now & again but small amounts make me loopy. Anyho, here in Chicago the malls are open until almost 1am so we are about step out into the night and do some shopping. I got up late & went to the bank & grocery stores & I'm glad I got gas last night.

Anyho, are you guys buying gifts for co-workers? Do you buy one for every employee or just the employer? We are having our office party breakfast on Thursday & then we can go home afterwards. So we try to get little gifts like wine, candles, lunch cards for different restaurants, lottery scratch offs & weird ornaments.

I am celebrating this Christmas with my family we are doing a rack of roast lamb. I've never done that before so this should be pretty interesting. We are blessed this year to exchange a few gifts & enjoy each others company. What are you doing Christmas? I am trying to get a few ideas as you can & all comments are welcomed.

God bless & I thank the Lord for His many blessings!

Happy Monday Loopy! emoticon I love that word...have to use it in my book.

I hope to visit my cousin who I went shopping with because I haven't had her holiday cooking all year. Although I will be cooking and that's a must. Mostly sugar stuff...I know..my son will eat what he wants and this is what he want. Plus Cooking like this once or twice a year will not hurt. That's what I love about this Season too. I can give him a great meal since he has to work all weekend...double shifts. Today is their Christmas party and I put it in a box with the giftcard and a journal. He didn't want the journal but oh well. I taped it tight so he could not undo it and i put a candy cane on the box. lol I can hear him blessing me in his mind. emoticon

So I have a few gifts to get and then I am complete. making some bags for some of the football playing little boys. It's coming so quick but I will enjoy this Season all year!!!
Don't Worry...Be Happy!!!

Sounds like you had a busy Saturday. I am not buying presents for coworkers this year. I cooked (or rather my husband did) and brought lunch for coworkers/support staff last Friday. Between the food, gas to travel to work and parking;it would have been cheaper to buy gifts!

For my family, dinner at home and probably cash to the kids for after Christmas shopping and activities.

We generally go to church as a family and give to the community food drive. I would love serve a meal for the community or visit a hospital or prison.

Merry Christmas! emoticon

Hope you finished your Xmas shopping Dee. I can't believe this but I do the same thing with wine! I buy them for what the label says! I gave a friend of mine a bottle of the "Little black dress" and it has a picture of a dress on the bottle! Some names are really funny! I exchange with one or two people and of course the boss! Went to my friends wedding last night and it was nice, and now I am focusing on my holiday with friends and family. Hope you have a great day Dee! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Chew the Cookie not Swallow it. . .

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Good Wednesday Sparkfam! I have been eating pretty decently but today I was set to eat my soup & crackers for lunch. Well I got to work & my boss brought some sweet potatoes at the store & decided to baked them at work. They smelled so good & I actually had one but I put butter on it like my mom used to do. I didn't like sweet potatoes growing up but I found that an old treat has come to life to become a new treat for me. .

So I was still doing well until I wanted a bite of pizza, so I got 2 slices & sliced off a taste of each. Still okay & doing alright until. . . .one of our board members brought in the cookies! Come on!! Seriously! They weren't the buttercreme frosted ones I overdose on but I ate 6 of the mini delicious cookies. So I heated my soup at that w/crackers & then drank 2cups of water. I'm walked in the break room where I put the cookies & I bypassed them. So I guess you can eat your cookies just not 6 of them!! lol I give Shadow my boxer a treat & it seems like he inhales those treats so I had to tell myself to chew the cookie & enjoy & move on after the 6th one of course.

God bless & I pray you are enjoy your hump day!! Doin a little jig from the christmas music playin on the radio. . . .

    You are so honest!!!

I love me some sweet potatoes! I bake them in the oven until all that sugar in them is sweating out of them. Then I put a dab of that olive oil butter mixture from land o lakes and a pack of stevia and cinnamon. So yummy!!! emoticon

God Bless Your day and Happy Thursday!!! Stay Warm! emoticon

It sounds like you did pretty good today! Fortunately, most of my coworkers don't bring pizza to work! You can't go wrong with sweet potatoes, great nutrition, fiber, and not bad on calories... Have a great weekend!
