Small Changes Equal Good Feelings. . .

Friday, September 10, 2010

So Happy Friday Sparkfam! Its a beautiful 75degrees here in Chicago & its a wonderful day to get out & walk. I didn't have a chance so I popped in Leslie Sansone Walk DVD. Wasn't as picturesque but it was a heart smart decision to make. I also did Cathe Supersets this morning & I feel good! Today I had a twinkie with carnation strawberry breakfast drink after my workout. At work I coffee (w/cream & sugar), a slice of toast w/butter & jelly for breakfast. The biggest change is for lunch I had a HUGE baked potato with butter, red pepper flakes, black pepper & a dash of salt:

It was so delicious & I guess a little selfish because I should've bought two. My co-worker just kept coming by & smelling my fresh baked potatoes. I tried to not use butter but I could not. Does anyone have any substitution advice? With that I had green tea. I had to put TWO sugar packets in cause it is so gross! But you know what, I craved it over the weekend. So the small changes are equalling good feelings! Even my husband commented that my calves are getting muscular. I was like I hate to do squats, push ups & calf lifts but I do love to walk/jog in place while cooking food & while watching tv. So my waist is getting smaller & my body is toning up but I am working on getting the numbers down. I haven't eaten any meat today! ? emoticon emoticon emoticon

What small changes are you making it could be daily, weekly or long term?

God bless & Happy Friday!

I rarely the potatoes they wreck my sugars but some times I eat small ones with cottage cheese, or Light mayo also smart balance spread with olive oil. If i want to be bad with mozzerala cheese emoticon, Could even make stuffed spud with roasted red and green peppers with cooked onions if you wanted protein use ground turkey. Potatoes are so versatile.

Light sour cream is great if you like sour cream. Salsa is good to. I use some of the spreads that helps lower cholesterol and have olive oil in it. Can't remember the name. lol But they also have sour cream. I've used I can't believe it's Not Butter and it does me good. Homemade Chili works great. I can't eat many white potatoes because of the carbs. You work out enough to eat butter in moderation. Butter has some great health benefits.
9.Butter contains conjugated linoleic acid, which is a potent anti-cancer agent, muscle builder, and immunity booster from:http://www.bodyecology.com/07/

hp

They have 19 more health benefits of butter so take a look.

I still think twinkies are no good at all. lol

Great day sista. I'm eating more veggies and that's truly a great thing.

There is a butter substitute called Brummel and Brown. It is whipped yogurt. It has less calories and fat than real butter, but it tastes just like butter. I almost like it more than butter!

Yum! that baked potato looks and sounds amazing! Whenever we make baked potatoes we use really good extra virgin olive oil on them instead of butter. Now of course, being Greek we have really good oil around all the time, but I'm sure if you can find good quality olive oil in Chicago....give it a try, you don't have to use much either.

Oh, and great job with your workout! I didn't workout again today...2 days in a row...and I feel so bad about it :(((

Happy Friday and happy weekend! emoticon

Happy Hump Day!!!

Wednesday, September 08, 2010

So you know what it is Sparkfam!!! Its Hump Day & I thought how fitting that I share this video link to youtube.com with you! Most of the music I knew but the guy dancing always makes me giggle about the Evolution of American Dance:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg
After viewing you should be at least smiling or should've busted a move! lol

I know you guys still can move it even if we don't allow our kids to see us dancing anymore. lol

Well, today I woke early, watched Joyce Meyer & then walk Shadow about 6blocks, then I went home & did All Star Workouts Boot Camp with Kendall. When he was just lifting his knees you know I went postal & jumped up. lol I just like to burn when I supposed to be burning. Tonight I wanna do some more weights or maybe some cardio just to keep busy.

Now get some rest.

God bless & Sparkfam, you've got to dance!

Happy Labor Day Sparkfam! I pray you are finding some time to put your feet, enjoy family & friends, food & the day period. I have been up & running since 9am but I am relaxing while I spark. I cooked breakfast, grits, scrambled eggs, hash brown o'brien, parker house sausage, bacon & wheat toast. It was really good & now I won't eat all the chicken & burgers. lol

I guess my real Labor Day was yesterday at my cousins close out bbq. She had family, friends & co-workers come out & enjoy food & drinks & treats. I mean, she had ribs, rib tips, hamburgers, hot dogs, brats & turkey burgers. She had old fashioned baked mac & cheese, spaghetti, potato salad & fruit salad. She also had wines & spirits but the icing on the cake: caramel cake, 2 apple pies, a oreo pie, butter cookies, birthday cupcakes, brownie cupcakes & the list goes on & on. I stayed within my means, I had a cup of fruit, tried one of the butter cookies, I took a bite & just gave the rest to the dog. I also had a bottle of water.

So how appropriate is my sparkpicture today for Labor Day. I want you all to find a few moments to get in touch with yourself & your purpose today. It shouldn't be hard & the end of summer always bring us to new beginnings, a new school year, a new home project or new workout. What are you inspired to do today for your life?

Me, I would love to go back to school in the next 6months, a few home improvement projects & doing the px90 series.

God bless & enjoy everyday!

Today is independence day here in Brazil, but we have a different tradition. On July, 4, is summer on USA and you can bbq, picnic, etc... We are in winter days and it's raining. We can be patriots, sure, but not entirely happy. Brazil can forgive me but I do prefer your Labor day... emoticon

Thanks for the blog and reflection... I would love to redecorate my apartment within the next year, get Cathe STS series and the Bowflex dumbbells and start a health blog about women with breast cancer, nutritional/fitness information as well as prevention.

Sounds like you had a great time at the bbq... emoticon... being with family and friends is great... I don't have much family and my son is with his dads (... my ex-husbands) family this weekend, so I stayed home with my fur baby Jazzi. looked at movies and cooked some... and that's ok... it is what it is, and I know it could be worse, so I am not complaining... but I do miss my family and the holiday get-togethers...

Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week...

Stop Worrying . . .

Happy Saturday Sparkfam!

I'm here sitting here feet are aching from all the walking I did from shopping. From the butcher, beauty supply, Walmart, grocery store, Walmart, grocery & Ultra food. I get tired just from thinking of what I've done. I've cooked potato salad & spaghetti, marinating chicken, thawing out rib tips & about to cook a red velvet cake. Wish me luck. . . .lol I like the cake but its not my biggest downfall. So as soon as I am down sparkin I'm off to do a quick 60min workout & so jumping jacks. No I won't go beyond what I am physically capable. lol

God bless & Happy Labor!

Get some rest:
I'm gonna sleep like a champ tonight!

Happy Thursday!

Happy Thursday Sparkfam! The rain has ended here in Chicago & the sun has come out drying up the rain. emoticon emoticon I was supposed to do Cathe's Push/Pull last night but got distracted so that was on my first thing to do list as I watched a movie from 1950s. I was watching Baby Doll & then Caged came on after so was ease to do it & get it done. After that I did Leslie's walk DVD only I was jogging when I was supposed to be walking but you know me, I LOVE to mix it up!

Tomorrow is my off Friday & today is my last day til next Tuesday. I am so geeked up thinking of all the reading I can do & workouts I blend together. I didn't get a chance to do Cathe's Cardio Fusion 30mins so I can also get that done. I am so loving my workouts & my stamina & I quit when I know I no longer can go. I just like to get the job done. How bout you? What is on you list of things to do "for you" that you haven't done today? Get it DONE!!!

God bless & enjoy Thursday!

You guys are looking sssooooooooo GOOD!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
