Back to Reality. . .

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

So I had been off since last Wednesday & now I'm back at work. OMG! Its so hard. The first hour I thought I had been here like 2-3 hours! Don't laugh at me. emoticon I mean I had such fun yesterday. Me & hubby to TGIF's on a Monday around 2pm. It was so quiet & we had good conversation & food & drinks. We laughed & we acted silly. We went to pick up my youngest from YMCA camp & we both laid down for a nap. I haven't taken a nap after 4pm in ages. It felt so good on a summer day to take a nap. As a matter a fact I need one right now. Someone was laying on their horn at 1am this morning. I woke up frustrated & peeked out the window. They moved on. Then at 2am the doorbell rings, Shadow, my boxer was barking madly. My sons & husband & Shadow all ran to the door. The young man from down the street wanted to make sure we knew that the is a possibility of a gas leak in the area. Peoples Energy showed up in 10minutes. We are basically electric so we were okay but I am guessin "crisis was averted." Its amazing that you never really know what dangers lurk when you go out of your house but also that can lurk in the home. God is an emoticon God cause keeps us. I just whispered, "thank You Lord!" Although I am still up at 3am & sleep is closing in only to wake up at 5:30am. For a zombie the Girl is looking fly! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Also back to reality. UGH! I was so enjoy those lavish days of just doing me. The boys, well my oldest is working & my youngest in camp. The don't too much want to hang with mommy & daddy too much anymore. But it was delicious. . . .

So my morning workout suffered & I will have to do it in the evening. Step aerobics, weights & chair squats. I am looking forward to it so that I can sleep really hard tonight. lol

God bless Sparkfam & enjoy Tuesday!

Am I Really. . . .

Friday, July 23, 2010

Am I really that bossy or manipulative in gettin my own way? Thank God its Friday Spark fam! WOOHOO! Celebrate!! Well the reason for that question is me & the hubby celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary yesterday. We went to a restaurant he wanted me to try & I was not impressed. My mood, demeanor & attitude showed in every way. . Ladies & some men, you know what I mean. If its not quite up to OUR standards the the conversation is limited & the body language is tense. Oh we went to Pappadeaux which is a decent restaurant seafood & steak place. I do like Fridays for a quick bite & its fairly priced but on a special occasions I want Gibson, Capitol Grille or Mortens!

The atmosphere was more like Fridays but a bit more in price. We were seated next to a table filled with ladies celebrating a birthday. Needless to say, the waitress may as well seated at their table. We heard their conversation & every breathe they took! It was very distracting of our nice quiet evening. . . . Am I wrong for not being talkative or limited in conversation? I didn't ask to be moved or leave when he asked if I wanted too. I endured & even started talking. I told him this one is for him since he implied I always pick the restaurants. I wanted to be able to be with him & enjoy his restaurant.

Anywho. . . . Did not workout yesterday which means, I HIT it today! My workouts leave me happier than normal. Today, I did 60mins Imax 2 step aerobics, 60mins of walk/jog DVD, 30mins of Dance & be fit & 30mins of weights.

God bless & take care!

Alright...Kiss that man and make up. Love is worth more than a place to eat. Girl if you knew how blessed you are to have a man...your husband take you out on a date...well you know Deb and she's learned from you to speak the truth in love. LOL It's ok to act like a spoiled child but smile and tell him you love him some more. Go buy him something special for YOU to wear. Ok I'm through DEE. LOL But you are blessed. I could tell you some stories. Please...appreciate that man always! You are Abundantly Blessed!

Noisy people, noisy restaurants, not too neat on any occasion. I bet one of the guys told him this was a great place to go. Hope you two have a sepcial occasion together soon. I've reached the age where I never opt for a Friday night out.

I would have felt exactly the way you did Dee, I believe in having fun just like everyone else, but when you are seated next to other people it would be nice to tone things down some. You had a special night and wanted to spend time with your man, not other women, You were a doll to think of your husband's feelings b/c he liked the restaurant and that is what marriage is all about! have a Great weekend Dee! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Ummmmmmm just saying and I love you to pieces, but it has to be totally about him and yourself and nothing else. Not the talking, the place, the atmoshere, just you and him. As a single parent that is definitely alone most of the time, I would have traded places with you in a heart beat. What counts is your union and the two of you should be able to glow no matter where you are. Ummmmm just saying all the physical perks are not what it's about. Your my shero and I mean that! God takes us to places sometimes because we never know what the spiritual pull is that draws you there. A rainbow might have been outside and I bet you missed it?

Love, Liv emoticon emoticon

Are You Really Hungry . . .

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Not quite the hungry I am speaking of but it is lunch time. lol I some times can be so focused on my goal that I can some times over do it. Well I've learned from my past mistake to balance my workouts over days & not just do it all in ONE day. lol I once again have that hunger to get up pray, listen to Joyce Meyers, do a light or kick my behind workout. Rest. Then start over again the next morning. If I go light, yoga & light weights, then in the evening I might go hard with step aerobics or heavier weights. The first thing I must do is listen to my body. I don't feel like it every day but when I do: BAM! Its on like Donkey Kong! lol So my question today is are you really hungry?

Today, I did 30mins of Gilad's Total Body, 40mins of Muscle Endurance, did a few minutes of belly dance with Aubre, 60mins of walking & later tonight 30mins of kickboxing with Tommy D. Oh & let me not forget my Quick Fire Challenge 5-10mins. Burn Baby Burn! WOOHOO!

God bless you all & pump up the volume!

Me at work today. . . .lol

Beverage Choice

Sunday, July 18, 2010

I gave up soda once before but today ain't that day. lol It so hot here in Chicago, you could fry an egg on the sidewalk. I used to drink 6 (12oz) ice filled glasses of soda Faygo Peach. Guess what? I don't too much care for it anymore. I do like grape, strawberry or orange crush soda. Now I drink my water but I also like a glass of soda especially when its hot So what's your beverage choice when it gets hot? Ice tea or sweet tea or lemonade? I like peach ice tea but crystal light brand.

Today, I got up and went to the 8am worship service & Pastor preached on Let us not be weary lest we faint. It was a wonderful & thought provoking sermon. I went to visit my daughter & grandson. I wish I had an ounce of the energy that my grandson had. I could workout for about 3hours everyday with his resilience. Went home made my baked chicken & meatloaf. In between time, I made grits, scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage. The men folk were hungry from worship service. They ate breakfast & then once they finished, they ate dinner too. I made corn & mashed potatoes to boot. I had a slice of toast, a spoonful of scrambled eggs & a slice of bacon. I ate half a piece of chicken & some corn but I couldn't do it back to back like them. Did I mention they are all slim muscular? Makes me sick! If I even look at the food they eat I gain a pound. lol

I pray you are all enjoying your Sunday!

God bless & chose your beverages wisely!

You make me hungry every Sunday! LOL I cooked meatloaf, black eyed peas, cornbread, whole green beans and a side of brown. My son pretended he did not like black eyed peas. So I had them for each day this week. I finished them off today. It was one of those .88 bags from Kroger. I know how to make food stretch! LOL

My drink for the heat hear in Texas is ice cold bottled water. I put my bottles in the freezer before an outside workout and like you said it's on like Donkey Kong. Wow I miss that game. LOL
Many blessings for sharing your life with us.

Have you tried Diet V8 Splash.... I am drinking the Tropical blend and mix it with either diet 7Up or Ginger Ale... you know about V8 tomato juice, well this is fruit based and has vitamins in it, so it a healthy alternative to drinking pop... there is also a regular V8 Splash, if you don't like the diet...

Glad that you had a wonderful Sunday... ~ Dee ~

Exhausted. . . .

Saturday, July 17, 2010

I've been up since 5:47am. I tried to go back & caught another 30mins. Watched law & order & then got up got dressed & about to head out the door but wait my bed isn't made up. If my bed is not made up it irks me something awful. Why am I that way? Well my mom used to send our sheets out to be dry cleaned. A truck would arrive & pick them up & dropped them back off in a brown bag nicely pressed & fresh. I loved the way she made up a bed. Some times with me still in it. The bed would be so tight & she would sprinkle powder between the sheets from Avon. So I have had a very busy day, groceries, dishes, breakfast, more dishes. mopping & sweeping the kitchen, hallway & bathroom floors. I had to help my youngest clean his room which is such & beast & he rarely sleeps in there. Anyway, I am going to lie down for a minute & take a load off. Later I will do some yoga stretches & jumping jacks.

What have you done for work around the house sake? I hate house work but I don't have a maid yet? lol

God bless & enjoy Saturday!

Whoa Baby, you should write a book! I'm wondering where I should even call if I wanted my sheets picked up and returned pressed and packaged. That soes sound Chicago!
I've been working outdoors changing perennial beds to a no-work yard that my brother will be able to maintain on his own. I'm on a race with myself to finish it by July. Steep order though.
You do sound super busy. Hmmm, maybe the kids have some ideas on how to make more you time.
Enjoy the day!! emoticon
Wish you had a picture of those sheets being delivered! emoticon

Girl, I just started to invest in a maid service. It used to make me feel bad that the house wasn't up to par (even though i work 2 jobs). I decided to bite the bullet and let someone else do a thorough clean once a month and I just maintain. I don't feel so overwelmed now. The house is so clean you can eat off the floor!

Just a thought,
